I work with a Marquette grad who said Garcia's announcement is tomorrow. Has anybody heard this? ... I was thinking I saw somewhere in this massive thread that he would announce the 20th (a week from today). I was listening to a couple D.C. radio guys the day of Game 7 of the World Series. One said he was predicting the Nationals would win, but wouldn't be surprised if the Astros pulled it out. So in that vein, here's my prediction on Garcia: I think he signs with IU, but could very well pick Marquette. There you have it!

I predicted a smallish margin (16 points) against Western Illinois and it was a wipeout. I then predicted a wipeout against Portland State (29 points), and it was closer than expected. That leaves me at a complete loss (nothing new) for North Alabama. I still have not seen us play (not paying for BTN+) and know nothing about North Alabama -- except for I'm presuming it's in the northern part of Alabama. And that it whipped Carver yesterday (did a great job defensively on Coolidge, Thorpe and Salami -- only the old-timers will have any idea to what I'm referring). So, here goes nothing ... If I were those ACC teams opening with conference games, I would NOT be happy. Kansas, Duke, MSU and Kentucky probably aren't happy having to play in that Champions Classic right off the bat. But in the grand scheme of things, those games don't mean a whole lot. Every conference game is critical, and to open your season with one when you haven't even gotten your feet wet ... I wouldn't like it.
