Who wouldn't want a successful and proven IU guy coaching? I would, but there really aren't any out there right now. Michael Lewis at Ball St. and they are 13-14 right now. That's not gonna cut it. My interest would be peaked if he was doing what Josh Schertz is doing at Indiana St. Alford has always been on the outside looking in. Is May the guy we want? He is definitely looking pretty favorable, but I'm not the AD and neither is Quinn,.....Dolson is. I want IU to be back in contention, ALWAY making the NCAA tourney and being a force game in and game out. This hasn't happened in decades. If it is Pearl, Oats or whoever, I just want IU consistent and relevant again. Quinn needs to let Dolson his job. -

The past 3 games, I have found it more mentally comforting to not watch the game, but check the score about every 5 or 10 mins. My Apple watch tends to alert me often when I have a high heart rate. This is most common while watching full games of late.....lol -

That's when players and coaches get frustrated because they sometimes forget about QUAD wins/losses. Just wins and losses alone don't always get you in. We have been bitten so many times this year with bad losses. With our remaining 4 games of the regular season, there are opportunities to get 3 quad 1 wins and a quad 2. That's 2 home and 2 away. I just don't see that happening. Below is a list of all wins and losses so far, from quad 1 through quad 4. Quad 1 Record: 1-8 L 57-77 Neutral (3) 5 UConn L 76-104 Neutral (7) Auburn L 71-75 Home (14) 2 Kansas L 70-86 Away (41) Nebraska L 66-87 Home (2) 2 Purdue L 79-91 Away (22) 11 Wisconsin L 62-70 Away (17) 10 Illinois W 76-73 Away (66) Ohio St. L 59-79 Away (2) 2 Purdue Quad 2 Record: 4-4 W 65-53 Home (67) Maryland W 78-75 Away (120) Michigan W 71-65 Home (66) Ohio St. L 57-66 Away (98) Rutgers W 74-68 Home (60) Iowa L 72-76 Home (53) Northwestern L 70-85 Home (41) Nebraska L 74-83 Away (96) Penn St. Quad 3 Record: 3-1 W 89-80 Home (144) Wright St. W 69-68 Home (118) Morehead St. W 74-62 Home (78) Minnesota L 71-85 Home (96) Penn St. Quad 4 Record: 6-0 W 69-63 Home (262) FGCU W 72-64 Home (332) Army West Point W 74-66 Neutral (206) Louisville W 89-76 Home (180) Harvard W 83-66 Home (257) North Ala. W 100-87 Home (253) Kennesaw St. Upcoming Q1 Home (22) Wisconsin 02/27/2024 Q1 Away (67) Maryland 03/03/2024 Q2 Away (78) Minnesota 03/06/2024 Q1 Home (24) Michigan St. 03/10/2024 -

....that's the catch 22. If the team turns things around with an assistant, the team has bonded with him and possibly hoping they hire him to be the permanent HC. That is not always a good idea. It as worked for some, but not all. I can think of Guard as one of those situations that has somewhat worked outish'. -

How much if any does the recent success of Ohio St. (since firing Holtmann) have on IU and Woodson? I know they are not the Spartans of old, but there is something to be said about them winning on the road at Michigan St. There seems to be a resurgence of energy and a will to play to their potential. I honestly think if/when this actually becomes official and IU is in the market for a new bb coach, it will finally be proven, quality coach. Dolson and Co. are going to want to really make this right. We totally have the funds to pay for an Oats, Pearl type coach ….JMO

Mark definitely has a pulse when it comes to IU bb. It will be interesting to see where his interests lie moving forward. It seems everyone tracks when Mark follows IU players on Twitter. I wonder if he does the same for specific college coaches? JMO -

It definitely would be interesting to know what kind of conversations are going on a Sunday afternoon in Bloomington with the higher ups. When it’s quiet, the mind tends to wander…. -

The silence is somewhat deafening….. Over the years, on occasion, players have spoke out about how hard the coaches have helped prepare them in various areas of their game. Also, during difficult times those same players have placed blame on themselves for poor play and not delivering…… Something is obviously broken. What I can’t understand is every one of these players were obviously labeled D1 caliber players because of their HS careers. With that being said, all these players were prolific or at least good, in specific areas of the game. I know the college game is much more challenging than HS, but how can some of these players become such non factors as sophomores, juniors and even seniors? My biggest question of all is, why can’t our players score baskets and hit free throws in the game? Are the players not putting in extra work in the gym before or after practice, if not why not? Are they not motivated, if not why? I will end with this….we all know that if players totally believe in the coaches and the coaches totally believe in the players then there is usually cohesion, growth and success. Where is any of that with this team? JMO Go IU -

I think you hit all the important parts Scotty, however you should have proof read it a little bit. There’s a “b” in place of a “h” the word, “the” as well as missing comma or two in spots. lol ….all out of fun, my friend, all out of fun! lol -
