So wait, I forget and have seen it both ways from people…if you’re someone who wants Woodson gone, is it better for us to lose tonight and that makes it easier to get rid of him, or do we want them to win and go as far as they can so it can be looked at as going out on a high note before he takes off? Just want to make sure which one I’m rooting for tonight lol I don’t want to actually root for them to lose, though, but just wondering which makes the most likely sense that could increase the probability of him being gone IF Dolson is able to pull the plug after this year.

I’m hoping that Goodman posting that info about Dusty means that’s exactly what isn’t going to be happening haha.

Yep, and then Dolson could have been fine with that coming out the way it did because it’d quiet the noise of what he could trying to get done behind the scenes.

It just baffles my mind that instead of spending money on getting a good coach now for the future, certain people would rather just spend money to help Woodson try to cover up his flaws as a coach by essentially buying him a team to try to make him look good. Just ridiculous and pathetic. Especially with the way Woodson acts. Get him the heck outta here.

Obviously Woodson has the huge ego, but at this point, if he knows he doesn’t have anything lined up for next year yet and completely struck out on recruits, had Liam decommit, etc…if Dolson slid him a check and said here we can make this smooth, go enjoy retirement, hopefully he’d be ok with something like that. If he’s not ok with that then hopefully Dolson says, well here take it anyway, get out, I’ve got my guy lol

I really hope Dolson isn’t afraid to step on anyone’s toes by making a change. Who gives a dang if Quinn won’t be happy about it. I’d like to think a TON of people are gonna be backing Dolson a change being made.

That’s what I’m worried about is Woodson saying everything Dolson wants to hear just to try to stick around but then when the season starts come to find he was full of it and doesn’t give a crap.

I know a lot of people don’t like how he acts, understood, but he sure says a lot of the things most of us have been feeling on this board in this clip.

Could that whole speech and what was said by Woodson/players pi$$ off the right people enough to want to do whatever they can to move on from Woodson even though it seems him saying what he did probably means he’ll be back? I’m sure it’s wishful thinking on my part that how he’s acting gets donors to go “you know what, screw this guy, let’s get him out of here, I’ll give you this much just to make sure he goes away”, or if that wouldn’t even matter if he’s unwilling to go on his own.

Let’s say that before yesterday’s game and speech, the plan was that Woodson would not return next season. Does what Leal and Galloway said about Woodson saying they’ll only play for him and best coach in the country yada yada, have any affect on that decision? I would think not because of the whole “can’t let the prisoners run the asylum” thing, but how weird would it be to have Gallo and Leal announce they are back to “play for coach” and then he leave? So that’s what makes me think I’m sure he’ll be back…but then again, maybe it could be looked at like they were just saying their praises towards him as a coach/mentor and letting him know how much they appreciated him while he was here. Doubt it, but a way to look at it since there are still those out there that think this whole thing is a bit off.

Honestly, when he started thanking everyone and then kinda paused I started thinking “holy cow, is he gonna announce retirement?!?!” But then went on with the “true fans” stuff and ended with “I am the coach. Understand that.” I was like well crap, haha

Right, I’m not blaming him. Feel bad that he’s in the position he’s in and wish he was able to do something about it.

Oh I agree, especially after how the senior speech went down. Just can’t stand how he went about it. I know he will be back, just wish he wasn’t. Not that it probably matters at all since Woodson has the right people in the right places, but id be curious to know how Dolson felt about what he said about the fans and his cockiness about being back. Dude is really rubbing people the wrong way. I guess I don’t see why he couldn’t have been like “I understand people being upset, we’re upset too.”….but instead he made it sound like “shame on you for not being happy with how Mike Woodson wants to run this team. You’re supposed to be ok with everything I do because I’m Mike Woodson and what I’ve done so far is spectacular” Once he buys a bunch of TJDs and JHSs in the portal and wins a bunch of games, he’ll just puff out his chest and say he’s the best coach in the world. I’ll very obviously be glad that we are winning games and love every minute of that, but I think HE needs to be the one to “chill” on what’s he’s accomplished so far and who he thinks he is.

I really want Dolson to shock the world so bad. That senior day speech made it appear that won’t be the case and it is what it is I guess and I’ll just hope for the best, but I agree with others that I don’t get how there were just “sourced” reports and nothing concrete from Dolson or anyone else with actual quotes saying he’s gonna be back. Is it really just a matter of his contract says he’ll be back so there’s no need to say it? Even still, I see no harm in actually saying so themselves to prove it if that’s the case. Must be the “can’t stand Woody at all anymore” in me.

If we are able to land a super team next year because of Woodson’s friends buying them for him I’ll obviously be excited to see what we can do and hope to win a bunch of games, but wow Woodson really makes it hard to root for him to succeed. His ego, arrogance, attitude, etc just really gets on my nerves big time. The speech thing was so awkward. Like Woodson set those two up to do it after he went on his little rant. It’s like it was made to be their public statement for showing support of Woodson, but the way he went about it was ridiculous. After Woodson said “I’m the coach, understand that. I’m not going anywhere”, I wanted to hear Dolson’s voice on the PA announcer mic say “yes you are”. Haha

Ends his speech with “I AM the coach here. Understand that. I’m not going anywhere.”….yikes…this ceremony isn’t about you Mike.

I really do like the fact that Dolson hasn’t said anything about the “announcement”. There’s just got to be something else going on that he’s in the midst of. Hope to be pleasantly surprised at the end of the season. I can’t believe how ugly this has gotten. I was skeptical yet happy about the hire of Woodson cuz I thought he was a good dude who was gonna do what was best to put IU where they needed to be. Now I’m to the point where I can hardly stand the guy and want him to have nothing to do with where IU is supposed to be. That’s just really sad and unbelievable. He really is going to tarnish how people see him as an “IU great”.

Yep, great way to lay it out. I liked the point about him wanting to just shortcut getting the wins/accolades of saving the program. 100% agree.

With everything Woody has done up to this point and how he’s acted, if he happens to be really successful next year, i feel like it’s just gonna be tarnished in a way. Great job Woody, your cigar buddies gave you a bunch of money to get NBA worthy players to win you games, not because you’re actually a good coach at Indiana University. I’m curious to know if most people would be like oh well at least we’re winning, or no, that’s pathetic, we need an actual coach who knows what he’s doing to build a program. I guess I could see mixed feelings there. i just think it’s crazy that they’re trying to pull any string they can just to try to save a bad college basketball coach.
