  1. Then if all the players he chooses in the portal don’t work out he’ll get to say “well we’re a new team…” and just get to act like all he has to do is plug in different ones the following year. Hopefully it doesn’t get that far and he really does plan to just have a 4th year, using whatever new resources that get thrown at him to have a successful season to go out on.
  2. It gets be like an NBA free agency thing for Woodson. No need to do actual work and recruit building block players. Just pay the ones that are available to come play for you. Atta boy…
  3. Woodson probably really is for sure getting that 4th year and then he and QB can both head off to retirement together. Maybe there’s already a plan in place with Dusty May about taking over after next year, so if we see him stay put at FAU after this season, it could point towards him waiting til Woodson is gone after next year to come here. Just another scenario to throw out there.
  4. Yeah I’m sure you’re right. Maybe I just take comfort in knowing there’s others out there that think it could actually be a scenario that happens hahaha
  5. sure would love it to end up being #3
  6. Yes I am, lol My brain wants it to be true because I want him gone so bad. I’ll get there haha
  7. “You sucked at Louisville? Perfect!! Come suck with us!”
  8. Right I agree with that. I guess it just all seems odd to me like there’s still something that could happen that we don’t know about. Probably my brain wanting that to be true because I want him gone so bad haha
  9. Would you say there’s still a chance that at the end of this season Woodson announces that he is stepping down and retiring and that announcement that he’ll be back next year just kinda helps the narrative that he’s leaving on his own terms? Or does this announcement that he’ll be back mean that we are for sure going to see him as coach for next season? I guess the reason I ask is just because of the timing of it and no actual quotes from Dolson or administration about it. Maybe it’s a matter of no quotes from them needed because they plan all along was that Woodson had a 4th year.. Thank you!
  10. That’s what I was thinking… ”ok guys, let’s bring Woody back but since we are, let’s make sure we bring in 20 people to do his job for him so we can try to be more successful.” Just give Woodson Armond Hill’s seat and let everyone else do the work….its like what’s the dang point. Just goes to show it’s a matter of helping out a former player/buddy to make him look good but have to get a brand new crew of experts to make it happen.
  11. Rest of the Big Ten loving the news I'm sure. They’ll already know how to figure us out. Just guard all those centers we have out on the floor.
  12. Well I guess we’ll get to see if it’s true or not that a bunch of players will leave if he’s back.
  13. Maybe they are announcing that he’s technically said to be IUs coach for next year but he’s already agreed to retire after this season. So it makes it look like he’s being given another year, but he decides to “retire” at seasons end. I guess we’ll find out. Again, more wishful thinking here.
  14. Ugh, I really hope this is just a ploy to quiet all the noise with rumors of future coaches and stuff until the season is over. If you think about it, news like that also backs off the rumor mill from the sides of Pearl and May so that they can concentrate on the rest of their seasons as well. Of course this is big time wishful thinking on my part.
  15. Maybe getting rid of Woodson and getting May would make it to where we wouldn’t need a bunch of portal guys and a brand new roster. If it’s true that there’d be guys who want to leave if Woodson comes back, Dusty May could be a guy to get McNeeley to stay on board, bring a couple guys with him from FAU, and keep a few key guys from the roster we have now.
  16. I don’t. But I know people who like to compare him coming here to Archie and I don’t think that’s fair. Just saying people shouldnt base Archie’s failure here to whether or not Dusty does.
  17. I understand Bruce Pearl being the sure fire thing with instant success and I’d love to have him, but if people don't want Dusty May because of Archie PTSD then I don’t think that’s fair. I know it can appear we’d be going down that road but it’s just hard to compare the two for handfuls of reasons. We can’t assume Dusty will fail because Archie failed, and I personally know people who like to bring up Archie when Dusty May’s name comes up. In my opinion, Dusty would create that same passion Bruce could because he gets it. Think of what Dusty is able to accomplish at a school like FAU, and consider what he’d be able to do with the resources and brand of an IU. Some may say that point could be said about Archie/Dayton/IU…but Archie wasn’t the type of guy ready to be on IUs stage. Dusty is gonna know what that stage is already and know how to handle it.
  18. Plus I thought I saw somewhere that May had just started recruiting Mullins. Already trying to build that connection, and it’s not like he has to spill the beans to Mullins that’s he’s gonna be the next IU coach just to make that good coach/player chemistry. So if he DOES end up at IU and Mullins likes him and likes IU, then bam, there’s already a thing there.
  19. I actually started to wonder if this could be the case. Pearl could be a big smoke screen and using the “dream job” thing helps the screen become more believable to people while they work behind the scenes with someone else. Could have even been IU people trying to leak word about the Dusty May to Ohio State possibility, which would work hand in hand with the Bruce stuff coming to IU as his dream job. Kinda like a “well looks like word is May is going to Ohio State and Bruce said IU would be his dream job so I bet we’re getting Bruce!”.
  20. So if we can assume Dolson and Buckner get along, which can absolutely be believable, is this going to end up being a matter of Quinn being fine with getting rid of Woodson and Dolson has done what it takes to make it happen, or is Quinn going to try to push getting him a different staff and hope that Dolson sees it that way?
  21. Then to go along with a little while back Woodson saying he wants his players to stay off social media….he doesn’t want them to see stuff and get excited about the possibility of playing for a better coach lol
  22. Yeah I figured that’d be the case. It’d be an awful distraction and bad look for his current team while they’re still trying to win games. The speculation and rumors are gonna be crazy.
  23. If the publicity of this happening just shoots through the roof, is there ANY way they say it’s a sure thing before the season ends or will they wait til BP is done in tournament if he’s indeed the next coach? Sooner or later players from both Auburn and IU see what’s being put out there and start to wonder. I guess I could see why they’d still wait to officially announce it til after BP is done.
  24. Really does got me thinking back to when Pearl made that comment about him knowing that 3>2 and that some guys don’t seem to have that figured out yet…he had to have said that on purpose for certain people to hear, and if so, could have been a “come and get me, I’m what you guys need” type of message….and if that’s indeed the case, then wow, that’s exciting and would show he really does want to be here.
