If the publicity of this happening just shoots through the roof, is there ANY way they say it’s a sure thing before the season ends or will they wait til BP is done in tournament if he’s indeed the next coach? Sooner or later players from both Auburn and IU see what’s being put out there and start to wonder. I guess I could see why they’d still wait to officially announce it til after BP is done.

Really does got me thinking back to when Pearl made that comment about him knowing that 3>2 and that some guys don’t seem to have that figured out yet…he had to have said that on purpose for certain people to hear, and if so, could have been a “come and get me, I’m what you guys need” type of message….and if that’s indeed the case, then wow, that’s exciting and would show he really does want to be here.

I remember back when Dolson first took the AD job after Glass, a lot of people were like meh, didn’t think it was the right move, thought he’d just be a yes man, etc The stuff he’s trying to get accomplished right now for the program and how he’s going about it makes him a bada$$ in my eyes and I’m sure that obviously most if not all on here sure as heck appreciate everything he’s trying to get done. We are in your corner Mr. Dolson. Save the program you and the rest of us love dearly.

If the players really do want to leave if Woodson comes back then just do us and yourselves a favor and lose out guys lol

Instead of booing at the games and making it feel like it’s going towards players, which it’s obviously not, they need to get some chants going that go directly at Quinn/Woody. They need to hear exactly what people think of how they’re attempting to run things.

The whole Quinn/Woodson dynamic and how Woodson has been acting honestly makes me miss Archie, ha. Just makes my blood boil that they’d be willing to destroy the program like this just because of who they think they are.

Yeah I’m hoping Dolson and Whitten have a plan to make sure Quinn doesn’t get his way. I could see her thinking Dolson is in the right here for sure. There’s gotta be way too many things that point towards Woodson needing to be gone that she ends up seeing and I’d like to think she is gonna definitely want what’s best for the future trajectory of the program.

Seems like a great day for some good ‘ol reassurance from a certain someone, ha. Hoping maybe there’s a little more juicy stuff Chris needed confirmation for that we’d be happy about, or if everything he’s already said up to this point is what he had that he needed confirmed. Maybe we are in the stage of just trying to steer things in a different direction as far as rumors go so that what’s really going on can be kept more on the down low.

If so, kinda seems like it could be a next step of a process/plan. 1. Dolson knows he’s got the next guy he wants in the bag. 2. Start getting more word out from multiple outlets that moving on from Woodson sounds more and more like the better route to go. The more negativity that surrounds him with the program as coach, the more the right people behind the decisions go “ok we better do this.” Of course, this is me saying this based off if the speculation of Dolson doing that is true.

I’m hoping after Auburn wins in the first round of the tournament, they interview Pearl discussing the win against whatever team they played against, and then at the very end he adds something like “…oh, and Go Hoosiers” with some sort of a wink. Then we’ll know…

Well yeah, absolutely. If it’s 100% fact that Dolson has done what it takes to have Bruce Pearl wanting and able to be here next year then you make the move and know that one way or the other Woodson will be gone. If I were to guess they make it be a good send off retirement thing and the players try like heck to send him out on a good note. If by chance Woodson doesn’t wanna play along with the whole retirement thing and not make the transition pretty, then that’s on him and we fire him if that’s what it takes. Dolson knows this is about the future trajectory of the program, and Woodson’s not it.

With as much traction and smooth movement we seem to have gotten with BP, I figured there’d be more speak/rumored on the Auburn side of things. One of their forums has a thread about the possibility of BP leaving and it only has 4 pages…Boooorring….haha

I’m fine with getting Bruce in here for 5-7 years to energize the program while Dusty spends time at another high major program for those 5-7 years proving himself. Then when Pearl decides to hang it up, we bring in Dusty.

Ive also seen that apparently, BP isn’t a fan of Under Armour, which is who Auburn has, and it’s been said that Pearl’s #1 preferred apparel company is Adidas because of their NIL program structure….hmmm, I might know a school that could help him out with that.

If Dolson pulls this off, my excitement/anticipation level for IU basketball will shoot through the freakin roof. Even though this program has seen its obvious moments of greatness, this move would almost seem surreal for some reason.

I’m interested in knowing if our top guy is actually making Quinn go “you know what, that’d be a great get, let’s do it. I’ll talk to Woody”, or if Dolson is doing this completely bypassing Quinn’s thoughts on the matter.

So then really, yeah, who cares what the wins/loses look like the rest of the way. If your top guy is a go then you make the move.

Right, I mean I get it. It definitely is hard to have faith in this administration, but it just feels like this could be different. If Dolson happens to think he’s got a guy in the bag, or at least heading smoothly in that direction then you’ve GOT to make the move. I think the comments Dolson said when he fired Allen to get Cignetti relate to the basketball program as well. Looking toward the outlook of the future, setting up for long term success, etc. Again, this is mostly wishful thinking on my part and will certainly not be surprised if we find out they let Woodson return. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. …or Chris could come on here and be like nevermind guys, he’s back now, and I go throw something lol

Maybe the players now know Woodson is going to “retire” after the season and are just in the middle of trying to send him out on a high note. Maybe player meeting with Dolson was letting them know what was going on and saying hey if anyone is thinking about leaving, just hold up and see what we end up doing here before you make a decision. Just seems weird how we went on a streak of them seeming like they don’t give a crap to now this the last couple games. I obviously have no idea if this is the case or not, but just something I thought of.
