I think this game could be like the 2011-2012 NC State one. That was the first time I felt that team could be something special. Need to win on the road in order to be a top 20ish team in college basketball. That starts tonight. I think it will be tough since I expect a decent crowd. However, IU wins by 5.

Coach Woodson 7pm Monday Radio Show w/link
HoosierFan1994 replied to coonhounds's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
When I listen to Coach, you can just tell he knows what he is talking about. I never felt that with the previous coaches. Dakich has Painter on at times and that is a good listen. I feel like I learn something about basketball. Same with Woody. -
Will Indiana be ranked tomorrow?
HoosierFan1994 replied to Hoosierfan22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Since January 2017 they've been ranked for only 6 weeks...wow. Forgot how bad it's been. In all honesty I'm not upset they aren't ranked. I love the underdog mentality. -
Four games but it feels like with this team it's going to be Trayce and whoever else wants to step up. A good problem to have. This team is deep. Knew Parker Stewart was eventually going to break out. Huge opportunity for Lander and he's making the most of it. Let's use these next to games to improve taking care of the turnovers before Syracuse.

Things to like about this team so far:
HoosierFan1994 replied to iu eyedoc's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This might sound silly, but they're having fun. Remember how enjoyable the 2012 and 2013 teams were to follow? A big reason was they were having fun. Obviously a lot of that has to do with winning. But this early in the season I can tell this team has confidence. I think the Syracuse game in two weeks could be like the NC State game the 2012 team played that year. Believe it or not the NC State road win was when I started to believe in that team, not the UK win a few weeks later. IU had numerous guys step up last night when a basket was needed (Lander, Trayce, Miller, and Race at the end). That is very encouraging. Archie Miller teams played not to lose. I feel Coach Woodson's team is playing to win. Suhr kept saying it, don't take bad shots. I felt Indiana was patient when they needed a big basket. -

Also congrats to Trayce on being the 54th player in IU history to top 1,000. That's pretty good considering he's a junior and last year had less games than a normal season. -

Agree on free throws...can't go 50% in the Big Ten. I feel Parker is going to get going soon. Miller had his breakout game. -

I'm going to guess Woodson was pissed at him. Saw him getting on to him on the TV broadcast. You can't have him picking up two fouls like that. Was still surprised to see him not play the rest of the game. -

I don't blame you at all for being skeptical. I like this team a lot and believe in them but I also liked the 2018-2019 team after the home win against Marquette. I feel this team is different but I get it. -

What a game. Upset they blew a 14 point lead but a win is a win...a few things Props to St. John's. I think they are a tournament team. Mike Anderson coached teams are tough. That Champagnie kid can play!! Would not be surprised if they are the second best team in the Big East. I'll be rooting for them the rest of the year. This could be a nice resume building win. Team really needs to hit their free throws. It almost cost them tonight. This game really shouldn't have been this close. Instead of being a 1 possession game it should've been close to a 3 possession. Welcome Tamar Bates and especially Miller Kopp. They were awesome! Still waiting on Parker to breakout. I feel his time is coming. Geronimo may be your MVP tonight. They don't win without those crucial minutes in the second half. Trayce is the team MVP but I thought at times (not all game) he looked lost and not as aggressive...just what I thought. I hope Lander gains some confidence tonight. He gave some good minutes. 10/10 recommend listening to Don Fischer instead of the TV guys. I synced my TV with the radio feed. It was awesome. Big win but lots to work on still. Again, St. John's is a good team but no reason it should've been this close when you have a 14 point lead. IU has 3 games to get better before a trip to Syracuse. I really want them to beat Boehslime...can't stand him or his program. For once...at least now...I feel good about an Indiana Basketball team. -
So freaking glad college hoops is back. I don't remember this many great matchups to start a season. You had Nova/UCLA and Gonzaga/Texas this weekend. Props to coaches like Chris Beard. What do you have to lose if you are a top team playing another top team on the road? Nova/UT/Purdue/UNC have a nice tournament this weekend. Maui next week. Gonzaga plays UCLA/Duke as well.

Said this last week but I think Kopp and Stewart have their breakout games at IU tomorrow. They are too good to stay this cold. I think Parker is due. Going off and saying he has at least 15 tomorrow. -

This might be the most excited I've been for an IU basketball game in years. I bet Assembly Hall is rocking. I just hope the team shows up! -
Where does IU Football go from here
HoosierFan1994 replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I don't dislike Tom Allen. For IU standards he's perfect. I hope he is here for 20 years. I feel a big part of this season is the team has just quit. I'm just saying I don't want to hear "LEO" when you are 2-8. I'm a Cowboys fan. Their defensive line two years ago called themselves "the hot boyz" yet they were statistically one of the worst defensive lines in the NFL. Bottom line: if you aren't winning you don't deserve a mantra or slogan. I follow other college football programs and I don't remember hearing any slogan used as much as LEO. Just my opinion...you can agree or disagree. I hope the McCulley kid can develop into something special. I felt IU had that with Penix. They need a program changing player...like what AT was in the 80s. -
Where does IU Football go from here
HoosierFan1994 replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I get that. He’s perfect for IU and our crappy standards for football. I’m just tired of hearing how some IU fans act like he’s Bear Bryant and Nick Saban all in one. Not saying you are or anyone on here thinks that. But he’s 0-3 in bowl games. His record against above .500 teams is pathetic. They took advantage of a down year in the Big Ten and no fans on the road last season. I’m guilty for buying the hype this year. Thought this would be a 9/10 win season. This mess is also on the players. Just felt after that beat down in Iowa the season was over and they gave up. I feel bad for the IU fans that went out of their way for this team. They care more about the program than some of the players. last thing: please… no more LEO… It was cool at first. But you don’t deserve to do slogans or gimmicks after a likely 2-10 season. I heard it on a commercial a million times last night listening to the basketball game. -

I’ve just never fully bought into Tom Allen. He’s done an okay job at IU but this is awful. Enthusiasm at an all time high for this program and they’re 2-8. I get if they went 6-6/7-5. Brutal schedule. But going 2-8… unacceptable. I’m still disappointed in the Tennessee bowl game and last year losing to a team with a losing record in their bowl. Major changes better happen for 2022. I keep hearing about much talent they have coming in. We better see it next year. Everyone can blame whoever they want but it starts at the top. -
Why in the world are two of the best games this weekend starting so late?? Nova UCLA tonight and Texas Gonzaga tomorrow. I get it's the west coast but it couldn't have been a 9 eastern start? I hate to say this but Purdue looks pretty good. I know it's early but still. They are deep. I think a huge reason there are so many upsets is the evolution of the three point shot. I feel like most teams have one guy capable of going off beyond the arch. Eastern Michigan had one.
