Outside of collapsing at the end (Kid from Minnesota wouldn't miss) this was a good win. This team goes as Xavier Johnson goes. He had B1G Player of the Week performances against Maryland and Minnesota. There have been certain players at Indiana where if they had an outstanding game you knew the team would win (Watford and Williams come to mind). I liked seeing the team look for Parker and Miller. Geronimo was awesome off the bench. Right now the Bracket Matrix has IU as the last 4 in. I feel if they can beat Rutgers, Indiana will at least be one of the 68 teams in. Lose to Purdue and in the first round of the BTT they may be in Dayton. IU is probably stuck in the 8 vs. 9 game so they'll be playing anther bubble team potentially. Question for everyone...do we know who Indiana will recognize on Senior Night yet? This is something I'm interested in. Right now X, Rob, Durr, Miller, Race, and Parker are "juniors" but are actually seniors. My understanding is they all get an extra year and could return.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the 03-04 and 04-05 teams have injuries? Which is why they missed the tournament. At the time it snapped a long streak of getting in the tournament. -

I was a kid when Davis was our coach but I remember asking my dad why Indiana was going to part ways with him. They just went to the tournament and had some momentum. Sampson didn't bring in all those kids he won with either. It was Mike Davis. I felt IU should've gave him another few years. -

This is when I turned it off. If they don't care why should we as fans? It's not cheap to attend a game at Assembly Hall....again, this is what losing programs do. Imagine if a player did that with Knight, Keady, Izzo, Coach K....I've also said this before. Trayce is our Dak Prescott (I'm a Cowboys fan). He dominates against weaker competition but struggles against even matchups. Good luck to him in the future but I don't see him having a long NBA career unless he improves. -

Indiana Basketball has a losing culture right now. It's been going on since 2016-2017. I remember reading about how Jordan Hulls (Mr. Basketball/State Champion) was sick and tired of losing that he went off on his teammates in the summer prior to the 2011-2012 year. Indiana brought in Cody Zeller (winner of 3 state championships/Mr. Basketball). They changed the culture along with Victor, Sheehey, and others. It didn't last long for various reasons (I still think Crean stopped recruiting the kind of kids that got him success). Who is going to be that guy for Indiana right now? I've been asking about it for 5 years. I was excited for our transfers but my biggest worry was that none of them came from winning programs (Pitt, Northwestern, etc). Until IU can develop a winning culture, this is how it's going to be. I like the fight from this group. We haven't seen this kind of fight since probably Crean was coach. I don't think this team is uber talented either. Woody did a heck of a job getting them to a 16-5 record. However, all 5 of our consecutive losses were winnable games. Even Michigan State. A winning culture wins at least two or three of those games. I was at the Wisconsin game in person. I was SICK they lost that game. Just like I was sick to see Indiana fight back tonight and lose when they were up 4 with two minutes to go. Any IU fan that is done with the program or has lost patience has every right to feel that way. That being said this program has to get guys that want to win. I know zero about our three incoming freshman, but they better want to win. Indiana needs to use the transfer portal and find guys who have NCAA Tournament experience. I watch a lot of UK because of my wife. They have talent but Kellan Grady is a huge reason why they're a national title contender. Came from a winning program at Davidson. Indiana needs to find someone like that for next year. I still think this team gets in the tournament but they'll be one and done. Woody has his flaws. I don't get his lineups and his late in game decisions. But I think any college coach deserves at least two years before we fully judge them. -
Well, this really sucks… not sure what the 5 guys did to get suspended but hope it was worth it to them. Not one to bash the guys who did the right thing and were out there tonight but this team has to get more from Trayce and Miller in this situation tonight. Congrats Northwestern on winning the Super Bowl!!

Exactly. Granted he made a few big free throws against Purdue but it was Rob and X that really stepped up. They didn’t have that today. -

Being an IU/Cowboys fan Trayce is our Dak. Plays great against weaker competition and struggles against the best. I like Trayce a lot. But he’s a very good college player at best. Just limited as a big. -

It all went down from here…(I kid!) All joking aside just a disappointing loss. Confusing to be up two at halftime and lose by 17. -

Yes! And when IU wins they'll only be a game back from 1st place. -

I think the thing that I am most thankful for with the Coach Woodson era is this: it feels great for IU to play in a big game. Between this and the Purdue game I've missed it. The last five years there were games that were big for one team but didn't mean a whole lot for us. It's just awesome to have an Indiana game as one of the best games of the day. I can't wait for Saturday. -
I saw on stub hub a decent deal on a ticket in the main concourse... I will be there. I've never been to a Big Ten game at Assembly Hall. I was close to buying a ticket to the Purdue or Illinois game...way too expensive for what I was wanting to pay. I can't wait to go to this game! If anyone is going to this game I'd be down to meet up at Nick's before the game.

By no means should a win over an average Maryland team mean we go crazy and celebrate in the streets but this is the kind of game this program has lost the 5 previous seasons. It is tough to win on the road in the Big Ten. I think right now the biggest thing for this team is the emergence of Xavier Johnson. It was either after the Penn State or Iowa loss where I called him a bust. I'm happy to be wrong on that one. He's been terrific since the Purdue win. Playing at an all Big Ten level. I think for this team to take the next step they need Kopp and Stewart to get going. I thought at the start of the year both guys would be averaging double figures. Really need to find ways to get the ball in their hand.

I don't understand why they didn't give Edey/Ivey the ball every single possession. Our defense is elite but still. I think those two are unstoppable. -

Holy crap. Didn't even think about the 0 turnovers. Man, if they can play even half this good each game.. -

BIG BIG win tonight!! I HOPE this is the start of a long winning streak (against Purdue and for this season). 1) Major props to Rob Phinisee. We can't lie it's been a disappointing 4 years for him. From what it sounds like Coach Woodson never lost faith in him. I hope this gives Rob the confidence going forward. 2) Also props to Coach Woodson. He walked into a tough situation this year. I felt he's done a heck of a job in the 10 months he's been here. He preached playing a full 40 minutes tonight and they did just that tonight. 3) Indiana needs not only this version of Rob to show up but also Xavier Johnson as well. 4) Big Mike! He was awesome tonight. Outside of Rob may have been our second most valuable player tonight. Did a wonderful job on Edey. 5) Hit your D**m free throws. 6) Let the students have their fun. I'm not a fan of court storming but it's been a miserable few years for those students who pay lots of money to attend IU. (That being said don't throw S**t on the court) 7) Purdue is pretty darn good. Edey and Ivey I think are unstoppable. They'll be one of the last 8 teams standing. Celebrate this win tonight and get ready for Michigan Sunday. Some winnable games coming up for this program. -

I see both sides. The students have seen some awful basketball the last four years. But I don't like it either when you're a blueblood. At the end I don't care I'm glad they won! -

Agree. I still think this team sneaks in the tournament as a 8-10 seed. It sucks because I think Trayce is a special player but he won't be able to accomplish postseason success because of the supporting cast. Bottom line is this team doesn't have their QB to run the offense. I hate to say this but I bet Scott Drew thinks he dodged one with missing out on X. He's just been a bust. I hope JHS is the real deal next year. -
I'm almost there. I just don't think Parker and Miller have been playing at a starter like level. I want to see more Geronimo-maybe not as a starter but more minutes. If Galloway keeps playing like he did Thursday put him in.

I enjoyed watching this team play hard Thursday night. I don't think Ohio State is all that (they are good, not sure if #13 good). This team has to be able to put a big win behind them. I really liked Trayce playing like an All-American after being called out by coach. For this team to have almost any success it starts with him. I'm really looking forward to Big Ten Season. If Indiana becomes a top 20ish team, Trayce has to be in the NPOY discussion. (That being said he had half our turnovers lol. I hope he stops throwing a 99 MPH fastball as a pass.) Galloway may be the X factor of this team. I hope this game gave him some confidence and he just takes off. I'm still not convinced the backcourt play of this team is good enough. I haven't been on here as much but I'm sure it has been said that if Miller or Parker aren't shooting well they can be a liability. I don't think X is a bad player but he needs to know his role. He's not the star of this team. That being said the National Champs and a Final Four team wanted him. I'm confident he will play better.
