  1. Regardless, we should know a lot more by the end of the month. Doesn't the portal window close May 1st? IF someone is leaving our program they will have done so by then correct? Plus draft combine invites will be sent out soon. If Trayce doesn't receiver one I think we will know his decision.
  2. This one is going to be the one to watch this next year. If you can get him to go along with JHS, Tamar, Geronimo, and Malik....
  3. It's a good problem to have. I'm now starting to think they may have to redshirt Banks.
  4. I want to let it ride too. I have to think under this staff someone will develop into a solid 3 point shooter. That being said I'm not going to turn away the best defensive player in a solid, respectable conference.
  5. He was extremely good but I didn’t think he was a one and done kind of guy. If I remember right that was a down class in general. Most years he would’ve been ranked 11 through 20.
  6. I’m so excited for next year I might make plans to go to Hoosier Hysteria… and I don’t really like the event
  7. You bring up something I was about to ask. Do we think Woodson continues this? I'm big on following trends. A lot of the teams in the NCAA tournament went 7-8 players deep. Right now I think our top 7-8 in order are: Trayce, X, Race, JHS, Malik, Geronimo, Tamar, Galloway. If McNeil or Dennis commit they are in the mix and Galloway drops out. I think early in the year you play a lot of your guys. But come March the rotation needs to be 7-8 guys.
  8. I think Dennis is probably the better all around player but McNeil probably fits a specific need. I'd take then both. To me, it sounds more likely Dennis is coming.
  9. Here is what I have right now: Starters: X, JHS, Tamar, Race, TJD (replace with Malik if he does not return) Bench in order of talent: Geronimo, Malik, Galloway, Banks, Kopp, Gunn, Leal, Duncomb If Dennis or McNeil land at IU then I have to think they play starter like minutes. I'm not sold on Tamar starting just yet but I also don't know about Jordan at the 3. We will see.
  10. I was in a meeting when news broke and I wanted to first pump in the air lol. Awesome job by the staff to land Malik. I said earlier the thing that I like the most is he and Jalen are not one and dones. These are probably 3 year players. The fact that they are winners is something else that stands out. Plus the Big Ten has lacked talent as far as recruiting goes. Would not surprise me to see these two as the B1G tens best players in the next few years. A great day for this program!
  11. I’m to the point where 10000% yes I want TJD one more year and for Malik to come off the bench. But, I don’t see why Malik couldn’t start if he has to and put up 10 points and 5 rebounds as a freshman. I just have it in my head that 5 stars should be able to play significant minutes as a freshman
  12. Same. I have very high expectations to make a deep run with these two.
  13. Yes, you have to be careful. Expectations for these two (assuming Malik commits) should be met with caution. I think they’re likely our 4th/5th best players next year. That being said unlike most out of state recruits we get I’ve actually watched these two. They’re winners as far as I’m concerned.
  14. Interesting. I forgot about that. The part I’m potentially excited about is these two aren’t one and dones. JHS is at least a 2 year guy. Malik may be a 4 year player.
  15. I’ve been following IU recruiting really since the Crean years (only because it was the only thing to be excited about). Has IU ever had two 5 stars in a class? I know 2012 and 2013 were close but I think they had a 5 and a high 4 star.
  16. I’m to the point now where I’d be shocked if he doesn’t come here. Anyone else feel that way too? If he really did commit to IU today it won’t be long before we all find out.
  17. Maryland must not like their chances with him. Their version of Rabjohns laughed off someone asking him about a crystal ball pick for Malik.
  18. It is this weekend. JHS will be with him. This has to be a very good sign...His other OV's are Maryland and Virginia.
  19. I was wondering the same thing. It's just the spot Trayce mentioned in an interview. Maybe his NIL money would be the same as the 35th pick in the draft.
  20. If they can get Reneau I'll be happy. However, from what I have read with Trayce's quotes today, I put it at 95% he is coming back. I can't see him being a top 35 pick.
  21. Exactly. It may suck waiting around for a month. I don't like the long process at all but it's best for the players. It prevents some kid making a quick decision and not having the opportunity to play in college anymore. Wasn't the old deadline like a week after the final four? Now it's essentially June 1st. Plus, we want this. In order to continue getting top players, you have to send some of them to the NBA.
  22. Glad he's doing this. He'd be crazy not to. Him not at least testing last year surprised me. Sounds like though he is probably coming back. He said essentially if he's not an late first/very early second round pick he's coming back. I'd be very surprised if he is a top 35 pick. If he gets a combine invite I'd expect his decision to probably be around June 1st. If not, it'll be early-mid May before we hear. I assume Woodson and the staff know what the plan probably will be.
  23. I hope..it's about time we make it. In all seriousness why can't IU make it next year? Villanova was the only final four team to make it past the first weekend last year. Sounds like they''ll return 4/5 starters with a 5 star freshman. Add in our bench guys, Kaleb, and CJ I really do think this team could be a top ten team if they can get a legit proven shooter in the portal. Even a Nick Zeisloft would do wonders for this team.
  24. Yes..I can't imagine his current teammates would be happy if he had that deal and left. It could've gone to Geronimo or someone else. I think anyone like Trayce should go through the process if they are a borderline draft pick. But I've just thought all along they were staying. They are really going after Malik as far as bigs go. And it sounds like it won't be a problem getting him if they both stay.
  25. I’d love to see a competition between those two. split their minutes 50/50 if you have to assuming it works.
