  1. I'll gladly wait another 24 if it means those greasy *expletive* go down hard. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  3. I'm confident for Watford. We have a big advantage over these other schools because he already knows he really likes IU. As a player these offers from other big time programs will continue to boost his confidence, and it'll make me feel even better when he says, "Sorry boys. My team is in Bloomington, Indiana." 4. ^^^This. If anything they have to be even more careful and very sure about what they bring forward now because targets are sleeping with one eye open. Personally, I hope they aren't sleeping at all. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. I honestly don't know. Maybe some of the more tenured members on the board could shed some light on that one. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/kansas-basketball-scandals-very-long-takes-time-read An interesting (but VERY long) compilation of the many questionable activities to occur with the KU MBB program since one Bill Self has taken over the program. Several things bring his possible sleaziness into the light, while other issues are more on the players. However players with such issues are often recruited by Self, which says enough on its own. The post breaks the timeline of events down by year and was gathered by a poster on a Michigan board. Again, it's long. But there are interesting points from the beginning. 7. Coaches that will really hate playing IU if he commits to us [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. ^^^ Agree. It bodes better if not well for us the longer he waits. He knows what he's going to get with the other schools regarding coaching and a generalized sense of play styles. We bring something new to the table and the IU product will improve quickly in all likelihood. If the potential of this program didn't seriously interest him we wouldn't have made the cut. 9. Your first point, while it holds a little water, is made of a very small sample size. Those kids are 19, 17, and 16... They're not men yet. One is a young adult, sure. I'm not saying any of them is bound to screw the pooch in a major way, but for the sake of both our views why don't we give it time and see how it goes. Again, I feel like success by the 'majority standards' reference is vague and likely refers to material gain. My focus is on teaching his/our youth about character. At this point, again, it's a small sample size regarding his kids. I understand it's largely immeasurable because we'll mostly see what they want us to see in the media. Like you, I don't agree with his methods. When people/kids see the arrogance and egotism equaling material success, what route might they be most tempted to employ I their own lives? Young people today lack humility, accountability, and service to others. Mr. Ball personifies a level of egotism that nears the antithesis of such qualities. Maybe some people read into "moron" differently than I had intended. You may substitute with, "loud mouth", "ego-feeder", or anything else that displays how ridiculous he can be. And I'll put a hold on my inclusion of his parenting on my original comment. It seems TBD at the moment. Sorry mods, didn't intend to get a sub thread going. I'll be quiet now [emoji39] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. Well, most recently he taught a 16 year old he can quit school because daddy doesn't like the coach. There's a positive life lesson. Yes, he has excelled in providing material advantages for his kids. It's my opinion, however, that such "excellence" stops right there. Let's continue agreeing to disagree. 11. Oddly enough Goodman deleted this tweet. Not that it means anything. I would imagine the story is still up on ESPN though. Maybe he just felt wrong about tweeting things he knows are false. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  13. So far your argument seems based on the material results of his parenting style and behavior. Like I said earlier, I'm tired. We'll close this can of worms before it gets opened. If my observation above is the measuring stick we're going to use in this discussion, we're having the wrong discussion. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. He's a moron by the standards of parental integrity, and that's at the very least. He's not a moron when it comes to working the media and public eye. Example: Here we are talking about him at 9am during the work week. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. I had a long-winded comment in response, all of which would agree. But I'm tired. Got halfway through and deleted it, so I'll just give the CliffsNotes version: SELFISH MORON FATHER. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. In the big picture, I agree. That's the biggest factor in our ability to recruit the prime talents for years to come is to not only get back on the national stage, but to be a regular there. I think in the short term (this season) it's going to be the perception of the talking heads and, more importantly, the local fan base that gets the attention of the 2018 and 2019 kids. There is a huge chance for IU /Archie to up the ante in his first year if expectations can be exceeded. The question is, what are those expectations in the eyes of a kid like Romeo? And, should the expectations of the fans/media around him not be exceeded, how much do their opinions sway him? Of those schools in contention for him, we are the program with the most to prove this year and a lot of attention will be garnered because of it. I have confidence in CAM and what he does this season (and moving forward, of course). We'll see how it impacts Romeo's choice eventually. Go Hoosiers! 18. I read as "The visit was ok. Basketball is improving there, but will always be overshadowed by football. The recent scandal isn't a *big* impact, but it is noted. It's still early in the recruiting process but I'll at least consider the offer." Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. I agree, Doyel can get annoying. I don't think he's actively trying to drub up implications regarding IU in this case. I appreciate that he bothered to get McRobbie's perspective. Nothing wrong with his approach here because we do have a recent and troublesome history, unfortunately. I think the part probably doing the most panty-wadding is where he expands on Archie's press conference quote. People read into that as his biased opinion on where IU stands.
