(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
HinnyHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Agreed. I feel like Daniels' reply to him was almost as if he was calling his bluff, telling him to put his reputation where his mouth is and put a CB out there. Maybe just being cheeky because he knows there is no reason anyone other than DG or his family should have that amount of confidence in his decision at this point. Hmm. Wish I could hear the inner monologue of Evan Daniels on this one. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Agreed. I feel that out for possibly deciding before then is in place because there will be significant influence from Garland's decision. With DG reportedly deciding very soon or waiting until fall signing, it gives Romeo a little extra time to re-evaluate his decision based off the direction Garland takes, if needed. That would be an awesome means of announcing his commitment. Better than the 2 minute videos some kids are doing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

The optimism began with the Miller hiring. From what I've been able to surmise it was like instantaneous rehab for Hoosier Guy! (Is that accurate, HG? lol) Yes, Crean did good things here. Getting us out of Sampson's toilet is something for which we should always thank FCTC. He set the foundation for our return to prominence. But he also didn't have what it takes to recruit high level players with consistency. He didn't have the in-game coaching savvy to adjust to and keep up with more elite teams. It was looking like a long tenure of peaks and equivalent valleys, something the AD (thankfully) and the fans are not willing to tolerate. It was time for a change. Sorry, back to DG. Interesting and valid point. Crean did have some success finding diamonds in the rough, e.g. D Wade, OG, Vic, Sheehey. Luckily most were to IU and helped us garner enough success to get us back on the positive side of the national spotlight (minus last year's debacle). It helped keep us just relevant enough for some high level recruits to not instantly dismiss IU as no man's land, which has allowed Archie to come in and knock some socks off with his personality and promising coaching career. Crean did his due diligence, so to speak. But the mutual interest is what's new. I should have just said "Archie" in place of IU in my initial statement. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Seeing as how IU was relatively late to the party, it seems he's having such difficulty because Vandy was easily the destination for awhile. Enter: Miller & Co. Hopefully he's trying to figure out how to let Vandy down easily. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I found one Twitter handle that is solely devoted to Romeo playing for Kansas. Not an insider, just a fan page.... Complete with 28 followers lol. Seems to be the only one high on Romeo over there lol. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Nothing regarding DG himself, at least not via the Twitter machine. Moses Brown is also visiting UCLA this weekend, which I didn't know. That's the only thing I've seen. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Both aspects here make sense. However, I think most people see Archie as a somewhat experienced head coach with success at a lower level. Yes, D1 with impressive NCAA appearances, but a lower level nonetheless. This gives rise to the undeniable potential we're all clamoring to see turn to reality, a product. The potential turns to product once it's seen on the court of play at the highest level of the college game, playing within the B1G and against other major conference teams. So yes, I feel the majority might like to see him in action since he's coaching at a higher level now. I think most top players would rather commit to a product rather than unproven potential. That being said, and we've all been thinking it.... Man, just look at what that potential could bring! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Any particular tweeters of interest to follow for UCLA? I'd like to follow/stalk them for the weekend like I'm doing with the Kansas guys. Edit: Didn't mean to quote you A.j. Meant to quote another and clicked yours on accident. Thought I'd canceled it but guess not. -
