I get Rabjohn's Crusade Against McRobbie But Please Make Sense
Aaron replied to Aaron's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
That's exactly what I meant is that he retires or mutually parts ways in 2021 when contract is up. That's less than 2 yrs away. I didn't mean he was leaving today or before that. -
I get Rabjohn's Crusade Against McRobbie But Please Make Sense

I know Zach and I can guarantee you he is not doing this to carry the Universities bell or help them. I think he is just presenting facts and then everyone can draw their own conclusions. To some it will help IU's case and to some it won't and make them look just as bad like you think. Its up to you to decide. I will not defend what University is doing and mostly against it, but I will defend Osterman to the death and know for a fact he did this with well researched facts and giving perspective for people to understand. -
I get Rabjohn's Crusade Against McRobbie But Please Make Sense
Aaron replied to Aaron's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I'm guessing with most things its probably somewhere between Zach's article and Rabjohn's outright crusade against McRobbie which started it all (where he has resorted to 'facts' mentioned above that make no sense). I think every team pulls some but IU is pulling the most or at least the most based on what they make which is somewhat what article is saying. I think a big part of it is McRobbie is from Australia and doesn't completely get college athletics as a result, so I don't really blame him and I am sure is doing what any Australian school would do and what he thinks is best for University. I am not going to go into details but Butler had something similar happen where a president from another country didn't get athletics and resigned as a result after Final Four runs. I think McRobbie doesn't like all the heat and leaves in 2021. It's something to consider when hiring foreign presidents and fielding big time athletics (I am not saying disqualify them, but make sure they understand US athletic model and how important they are in this country and will fully support that within University mission). -

And Osterman finally with a story that has some answers: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2019/06/19/indiana-university-using-big-ten-network-money-more-than-just-athletics/1357099001/ -

They didn't get into that. -
I want to start by saying I mostly agree with Jeff Rabjohn's and McRobbie has some answering to do with why he has lifted money from athletics for the University itself. However, in a recent interview he cited McRobbie using Big Ten money for the new volleyball and wrestling facility as an example of taking money away from athletics for University purposes. Last I checked Volleyball and Wrestling are part of the athletic department and building the new facility would be the money BEING USED FOR ATHLETICS. He also proceeded to say the old facility was adequate when in reality it was not even close to that and a dump and a big reason why Volleyball and Wrestling are so bad. Again, I get what Rabjohn's is doing and he is absolutely right to question McRobbie, but if he is going to tout that cause make sure your facts are 100% accurate. More money does need to be used for Football, but taking Big Ten Network money from Football to build a Volleyball facility is NOT an example of athletic money being lifted to the University that could be used for Football.

We are 3-1 against UNC in Challenge. Beat them in North Carolina in 2001 as well as 2012 and 2016. Lost in 2004.

(2020) PG Ethan Morton to Purdue
Aaron replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I agree with that part and IU's consistency in Baseball is kind of like Purdue's in basketball while their baseball was a flash in the pan last year. With that said Painter does still have a ton of starters to replace which will be a big test and no star in Edwards this time. Heck IU baseball will be in that position next year that Painter is in losing a ton of players. Big Test coming up for both of them next year after being arguably most consistent program in conference last half dozen years or more. -

All I can say is we have to hope all this Purdue love plays out like it has in baseball for them from last year to this year. Everyone was in love with them last year and said their coach Mark Wasikowski was building the next great thing in Big Ten for baseball after making tourney last year and almost winning Big Ten. This year they have tumbled to the near the bottom of conference while IU is chugging towards the NCAA tourney for the 6th time in 7 years. While Painter is certainly the hot ticket now and has proven success over a long period of time he will have to replace a ton this year so lets see if all this momentum is still here next year. -

That or something similar that caused blood clotting issues -

I am fairly certain (90%) from what I have heard that it is indeed the above issue. Hopefully they can get him off the blood thinners and he stops clotting as has been mentioned. Would be a big help for next year. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
Aaron replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The one thing I will say that hopefully holds true for men as well, is Woman's team had a horrible first season under Teri Moren and many players left including Laren Brooks their best player and people wondered if she was right for the job and what was going on. Once she got the problem players away and her system installed the following year with a limited roster she surprised everyone and went to NCAA tourney. Since then she has made NCAA or NIT every year and won over 20 games each season which is better than anyone has every done with Women's team. Even this year after losing Buss and Cahill the best players in program history she still made tourney with several really good transfers so that may parallel as well. Obviously Archie will need to be even better than Moren for people to be happy but hopefully a similar scenario occurs with even more success. -
I know a few people who know Dakich and lets say they do not have good things to say about him. I have never met him so cannot judge myself but definitely these peoples interactions with him have been less than positive.

Yes been an all-star catcher for Giants for years. The award is named after him. Posey is also responsible for players no longer being able to cause collisions with catcher and railroad them at plate as a serious injury to him several years ago kept him out for a while and opened people's eyes to the danger.
-
Right now he is injured and expected to miss at least a couple more weeks so I am not sure how likely he is to win the award missing 10-20 games. With that said it's nice to see him receive this honor and get recognized.
-
While injuries are never good remember its a 7 month off season so unless its something like an Achilles for Yeaney any surgeries should make the player more than good to go next season. Certainly if Patberg has shoulder surgery she would be completely fine by next year in plenty of time just as Juwan was with same surgery. There are not to many injuries or surgeries that could keep a player out next season besides Yeaney's given everyone else was playing and no noticeable injury occurred in any games. With that said I hope every one gets well fast and surgeries are never easy.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

I've heard rumblings of Moore leaving for weeks. Good luck to him and I hope he finds a better situation. -
We need shooters! Marshall runs a very similar offense to Archie and it works because he has a couple shooters who can make shots. That was the only difference tonight and Marshall showed us what a good IU run offense will look like and if Archie finds some shooters he will do well here. If not Archie will not last. Also Marshall as good as he is was not hired or interviewed here because he has some heavy baggage behind scenes. There is a reason he has not been offered a higher level job and we are one of many to pass on him for good reason. Another shout out to the crowd of over 10K strong who was really into game again!

Very fun fact: This will be the latest date in program history we have played a home game beating March 24th 1985 NIT against Marquette by 2 days. Even more fun fact: If we win and get to New York it will be only the third time in program history we have played in April (tourney used to be held earlier) joining April 4th 1992 Final Four game against Duke and April 1st 2002 National Championship game against Maryland. This means any win in New York if we make it would be our first April win in program history.
-
Correct. They did that for many years with neutral sites for women and moved it to home team hosting because the attendance was so low. Every sport outside of that sports Final 4 generally the higher seed hosts (either head to head or 4 team regional) the postseason game except the NCAA tourney for men and bowl games. Its no more unfair than us hosting postseason in soccer every year because we are so good. Its the only way to draw a crowd outside of the big 2 sports.

I had flashbacks to Jordan Morgan missing that tip in in exact same way for Michigan in 2013 that won us Big Ten. Difference is that missed tip in was an awesome moment for IU vs. here the missed tip in rimming out makes me sick to see Duke win.

Good win!
