  1. To me the biggest change as the year has gone one has been the improvement of the offensive line. Scott could hardly run on anyone earlier in yr and now he is running really well and our QB's are hardly getting sacked. This has been the biggest thing that has led to our rise as year has gone on.
  2. Officially putting in benchwarmers I have never heard of at receiver.
  3. If you want me to PM you I will and explain but trust me when I say I hear some things through the back channels.
  4. Ramsey with good playing can do what he just did there. DeBoer has changed everything. DeBoer has certainly maximized Ramsey and you see what a difference he makes but he has limitations. Whether its him or Penix we probably have a chance at 8-4 by beating PU plus the bowl game but long term if Penix is made of glass and he certainly appears to be need to go out and recruit another stud QB. Preferably one who can stay healthy.
  5. I'm not mad at him at all. Its not his fault his body betrays him but its breaking down way to easily and he won't be playing football for long if this is the case. I have seen so many promising careers ruined by injury and Penix appears to be one of them which is not his doing. Just sad. IU is going to need a more durable QB pretty soon with Penix's inability to stay healthy.
  6. Thats for sure. I like Ramsey and we can certainly hold on tonight and beat PU with him but we will get run over by UM and PSU with him. I love Ramsey but but he has limitations.
  7. And where did this 'rumor' come from. No hit he took in that half should of broken anything. That is from someone I am watching with who is a doctor. It may not be Penix's fault but he is in the wrong game if his body gets hurt this easily and IU better recruit another QB fast once Ramsey graduates if Tuttle isn't the answer.
  8. Then he really is made of glass. No hit he took that half should of broke a collarbone. I have broken mine and it takes really hard trauma to do that even in football. No hit he took that half even on his scrambles should of broken anything. Period
  9. I said that further down in my post. LOL
  10. I'm sick of Penix being made of Glass. I was told by a source his major problem is he can't play through an ounce of pain and this certainly appears to be the case. No hit out there should of made him hurt. I think we have a big enough lead against this NW offense but Ramsey cannot move the ball against a decent D like this much less an even better PSU or Michigan D. Those are the games Penix is a must (and I love Ramsey) if we want any chance. If we wants to take the rest of the night off fine but be ready in two weeks for PSU and learn to play with a bit of pain or quit the game and we will get another QB. Penix is a great talent but if he can't play with a bit of pain he's in the wrong sport. Unrelated to Penix but we are essentially watching last year's conservative Mike DeBord O in Northwestern's offense against our new and improved offense with Kalen DeBoer.
  11. Like I said just stop NW vanilla offense. Two short runs and then a short pass to try to pick up first down on third and medium. Also doing it this way shortens the game a lot and gives you less scoring chances. Like we replaced Debord for more success NW needs same. They have the talent but horrific and conservative play calling on offense.
  12. With that said even if a fix is in if we keep forcing turnovers it won't matter.
  13. Ok part of me is officially scarred that their is an attempted fix. I usually don't buy into that but after the line moved so much and now one sided penalties you wonder if one of the ref's is involved in betting. It sounds crazy and I am probably just freaked out after the Donaghy movie today but everything happening in game sort of happened in move.
  14. As I said its a better crowd than average but not perfect. Got to start somewhere. Rome wasn't built in a day.
  15. Thats why NW rarely gets TD's on offense. Very non-creative play calling with just straight runs up the middle and a few passes. Kind of like a DeBord offense. Now we just need to stop it and adjust. Its not hard based on what they are doing but can we?
  16. This Northwestern Offense isn't doing anything special. We are just failing to stop them. Our offense is so innovative and our defense is the opposite. Same thing Rick Venturi said about Colts a few weeks ago but their D has improved since then.
  17. This NW offense is extremely vanilla. Now we just need to stop it.
  18. Also from twitter pics not full but crowd def. up from a normal IU game. Looks like 45kish as oppose to 35-40k. Thats a start against a team who doesn't travel.
  19. For all this talk about the NW D they are certainly better than the atrocities we have faced on D last few weeks but they are not elite by any means and so far we are pushing them around in the trenches.
  20. I am not justifying anything and believe our fans should show up more but even All NW's success with Fitzgerald this decade they have not seen a huge attendance increase.
  21. The line moving so much today scares me. Not because I think it affects Indiana's chances but after seeing the Donaghy movie today I wonder if something fishy is going on with bookies illegally who know something (and yes I know is gambling is legal now).
