Sporting News is projecting us as a 9th seed opening at #8 Georgia which would be a very tough environment. The good news is that I haven’t seen a single updated bracket that excludes IU. Just beat the snot out if the Boilers.

I have no idea because of transfers etc but do know that in their last three classes, according to Scout, they signed a total of 58 four and five stars with only 5 three star guys. Unreal depth. Not to mention that nine of their 22 starters are slated to be first or second rounders in the next NFL draft (2025) with others expected to be first or second rounders in the 2026 draft. The “on paper” talent discrepancy between OSU and 15 of the other BT teams is enormous.

A guy with Sports Illustrated updated his playoff projections and has IU at ND with the winner playing SMU. Would take that in a nanosecond.

Yep, Lose to PU and I wouldn’t waste 2 words defending our inclusion in the playoff. They are terrible, will want to ruin our season but we need a 20-30+ win for the committee and for our offense to get back to actually doing things like protecting the QB, getting separation and completing passes.

We have been on a slide 3/4 last halves but PU, with a crappy coach and no NFL guys, should (should) be just what the doctor ordered. Agree that a pounding is what we need. I’m not worried about a let down, at all, as it looks like we will probably remain in the playoff talks which is a HUGE incentive to flush away the OSU game and beat PU.

Tennessee beat a very strong 2-9 UTEP team today so they will probably move up 7 or so spots.

On a side note I watched a lot of SEC football today and saw a lot of dumb mistakes and sh!ite play.

So to recap… IU loses at #2 Ohio State. Bama, Ole Miss, Texas AM and Colorado all lose to .500’sh teams.

We will see what happens but Auburn should have gone for 2 after their last TD

Disappointing game at OSU but Bama, Ole Miss and Colorado losing are positives. Would be great to also see A&M go down and then beat Texas next week.

No they don’t. This is a game between two SEC teams so they both are obviously titans of college football.

I agree. 5-5 OK beating Bama 4-6 Auburn beating A&M but in both cases it will be spun as proof that the SEC is so deep that OK is only 5-5 while similar BT teams like Washington and Michigan suck. I’m really tired of the SEC narrative.

Bama isn’t impressive so far tonight. They are lucky to only be down 7 against 5-5 Oklahoma (another SEC “powerhouse” LOL).

A couple of things have gone our way since the loss today but bummer that PSU won. Oklahoma beating Bama would make me feel a lot better about our playoff chances. Go Sooners (never dreamed I would say that).

I agree. OSU had been hearing all the Cig kudo’s not to mention Cig saying Ohio State sucks in public. Perfectly natural for them to give us a little back.

Very true about FSU. But on the other hand they were bounced out of a 4 team playoff rather than a 12 team one. I won’t be shocked at all if we lose out to a 2,3,4,5 loss SEC team but there is hope.

At least the Prime Time storyline should be extinguished as the Buffs are about to get loss number three vs Kansas.

That was just a terrible red zone series. Minny is going to lose a totally winnable game. Bummer for IU.

One of the best examples was the “prototypical NFL QB”, on paper, Christian Hackenburg who declared early and flamed out.

In regards to the playoff I have to remind myself…. No, we did not look as good as OSU who is probably one of the best, if not best, 2-3 teams in CFB but to make the playoff we just need to look better than the 10th or 11th best team. We might still slide in.

Poor tackling, couldn’t protect Rourke, OSU receivers had separation all day, dropped passes, special teams miscues etc etc. Running game looked pretty good.

I agree, The BT wants 4 teams in the playoff every bit as the SEC wants 4. I can’t see Manuel quietly rolling over but we will see. I know one thing and that is that I will read about the next playoff rankings, rather than watch the show, as I don’t want to to once again hear Joey Galloway go off over and over about our schedule.

It is true. He slid because he wanted to run clock and not give us the ball back immediately. No way a dude slides at the end of a 50 yard run, with roughly 2 minutes left, for any other reason.

Although I’m sick of his “act”…..today I LOVE PJ Fleck and the Gophers. Would love to see them give PSU loss #2.
