Why did your jaw drop when reading other BT coaches would do anything for IU to keep Woodson? It wouldn’t surprise me if the other 17 schools offered to pay Woodys salary and give him a raise to stay. My jaw would have dropped if other BT coaches wanted Woody to leave because they thought he was a great coach that got everything out of his players. Now that would be shocking/jaw dropping.

I agree. I don’t buy it either. I believe Dan that there is a ton of bad sh!te going on in the program but Buckner and Woody have been praising RMK for 50 years. How and why do you keep that up for 50 years if you can’t stand the guy. I can understand how someone could “rally”, and pretend they like a guy, for an event every 10-15 years, but Buckner and Woody have continuously praised Knight and gone on and on about life lessons, opportunity, like a father, influenced my life etc etc. Who knows, maybe they have made a few negative comments about Knight (which not be shocking as nearly everyone might say something negative, from time to time, about someone they have known for 50 years) and for “some reason” Dan has taken that to a different level. Anyway, back to the important topic. The program needs to be blown up (although I am not in favor of Dolson being fired) and the new head coach needs to be given the power to orchestrate the change.

Yes. That’s what I think but, as I posted, we need a great hire that doesn’t need any “help” and then let the new head coach 100% pick his own staff.

I hope Dolson hires the head coach and then gets out of the way to let the head coach hire the staff he wants. Dolson “presented” Fife and Matta to Woody, because he knew (I assume) Woody was not qualified to be a college head coach, but this hire better be someone that doesn’t need “help”. Hire a great head coach and trust him to build his staff without any administrative interference/suggestions.

If Tucker and his dad are on Woodys azz for playing time then benching Tucker is one of the few things in which I agree with Woody.

Ya should not have done that, need to respect the chain of command (especially in front of the players) etc etc That being said, since this seems to be a one-off, I will chalk it up to Ya having a “I can’t take it anymore” moment.

I agree with your Woodson comments but we don’t know if Leal is “circling the wagons” because he said they were told to foul before the three point shot. Who knows? Maybe they were told that. One way or the other it doesn’t lessen the fact that Woody needs to go.

Your making me feel old…LOL His age is one thing but Izzo is several years older than Woody, Rick Barnes is four years older and Pearl is only 2 years younger. Woodys equation, however, is older+unqualified=sucks.

Yeah, The raise was inexplicable/inexcusable but being able to spread it out to “only” a million a year was helpful.

FWIW, Torvik only has us favored against Penn State (3.5 points), Washington (0.8) and OSU (1.5). It’s going to be ugly. Real ugly.

I could see a mid-season change if we lose by at least 20+ (which I expect) at both PU and Wiscy. The optics of those two blowouts, and then coming home to play against Dusty, will be obvious to the administration (except Buckner), donors and anyone else affiliated with the program.

In the post game Leal said they were indeed instructed to foul, prior to the three point dagger, but they didn’t do it. It’s almost laughable at this point.

Although it’s never down to just one play, and not to deflect from Woodys absolute clown show at the end of the game, but your experienced 5th year 2G just can’t miss the front end of a one and one in crunch time at home. Just a killer.

They showed a graphic in which MD had the 3rd worst winning percentage, in close games, in the NCAA. Willard should send Woody a thank you note.

He gets fouled, a bucket, maybe gets a tip-in, etc etc but instead Woody subs as if we needed a three to tie rather than 2 to win. We needed a rebounder (ie Ballo) in that situation. For the bettors: we covered. So there is that.

We only needed a two and took out Ballo. WTF???
