Glad we drew Caroline as NOTHING is more important, essential or entertaining than the sideline reporter during a game. How did we survive “back in the day” without a sideline reporter insightfully asking a coach, losing by 35, if his defense needs to play better.

Hindsight is 20/20 but our agreement with UVA was perfect for a 9 conference plus 1 P4 game requirement.

I’ll give Tom Allen his props, he is really good at contracts..LOL Was reading a “Will Clemson clean house” article and saw that Allen is in the first year of a three year guaranteed $6,000,000 (roughly 2mm per year) contract. He is unlikely to hit additional cash incentives for making the CFP, having a statistically elite defense etc. If he is let go at the end of the year they will owe him $4,000,000.

To say the least….Lubbock is not the most fascinating place on earth. That being said….this year they allegedly have the second highest NIL payroll in the country. I’m guessing there are plenty of kids willing to live there for a year to earn an extra 100,200,300,400K (pick a number). Will that continue and/or payoff??? We shall see.

I hope I’m wrong but PU doesn’t look as hapless as they have the past two years. I’m guessing there will be a “everything went right” game they will win. Needless to say that better not happen (it won’t) against us.

As we know most of the ACC is a joke. UNC isn’t playing Miami or Florida State and their upcoming conference games are: Clemson, Cal, Virginia, Syracuse, Stanford, Wake Forest, Duke, NC State. Plenty of losses for UNC but we would easily run the table on that schedule.

I’m good with where we are rated. I think Texas, who is just in front of us, is overrated but aside from them being in front of us I don’t see much “why in the hell are they ranked that high”. Pleasantly surprised we are above TT as their win at Utah was also quite impressive. The important thing is that we are ranked in “Playoff territory” and everything will play out just fine as long as our future results are positive. Really need to take care of Iowa.

One of the funniest/saddest clips of the day was Arch Manning scoring on a 5 yard run and then leaning down and taunting a Sam Houston State player that was on the ground. LOL The $6,000,000 pre-season Heisman favorite taking it to friggin Sam Houston State. What an accomplishment! HA !

Watched SECPN College Football Final fully expecting them to somewhat dismiss IU’s win as a victory over an overrated Illinois team. I was wrong. Much to my surprise they were very complimentary including Joey Galloway who didn’t believe in IU pretty much all last year. No mention of the schedule etc but rather just listed positives including saying we could likely be better than last year. Very nice/surprising to hear. Iowa is the next “must-win game” (LOL) in order to keep positive momentum and narrative. We are in great shape if we beat Iowa and then beat, or are very competitive against, Oregon.

So do I. 70 Baybee. The Illinois head coach, currently seen wearing a grill cover, put 83 on us when he was the Wisconsin Coach. Yes…I hold a grudge.

I know some don’t like Gus Johnson but I think he’d bring a lot more excitement/big environment vibe than these guys. They sound like they are at work while Gus would act as if he was at the greatest event in the history of sports.
