  1. Thanks, didn't know that. Do wonder if he would have played and if did, whose minutes would have been taken. In terms of minute distribution, we saw Franklin and Thompson play very limited minutes and Davis play more than normal....but I think Thompson/Davis was more of a matchup issue against Wesson than anything. Al's minutes were lower but he sat a good length in the first half because of fouls. Hunter played about as much as he had but only took one shot in 19 minutes. Also, FWIW, Rob took 12 shots in 29 minutes.....something I said he needed to look to do as he had seemed so hesitant.
  2. I was a little surprised that Damezi didn't play....from the outside, he did look like a guy who had the effort and had improved since last year. That said, he hasn't been making shots. In terms of DeVonte, I think it's of interest to know that over the past three games, he's had a total of one turnover. I think his benching against Northwestern was due to shot selection and how it effected his defense, but when you check the numbers, he simply has not been turning the ball over like he was earlier in the season. For those who get frustrated with him quickly......you won't be done. He's going to go through cold spells and he is going to keep shooting when he's cold. But ultimately we need some guys that do that instead of going into a shell when they aren't shooting well. I think the key to the last game is the good start we had and the fact that when we went through the one of seventeen streak to end the half, we still were in a very manageable three point deficit at half.
  3. But Ohio State's SOS was 168 in non-con and Indiana's was 190, so not any kind of difference (Pom ratings). So what explains their ranking?
  4. IU not ranked. As a point of interest, here is the total points combined between the two polls (AP and coaches) with the coaches double weighted since the coach's poll use 32 votes and AP uses 65. Michigan State 1517 Maryland 1218 Michigan 620 Ohio State 544 Iowa 208 Illinois 175 Indiana 126 Penn State 82 Wisconsin 53 Rutgers 46 Purdue 40 Order of rank by AP Poll: 1. Michigan State 2. Maryland 3. Michigan 4. Ohio State 5. Illinois 6. Iowa 7. Indiana 8. Penn State 9. Wisconsin 10. Purdue 11. Rutgers Coaches: 1. Michigan State 2. Maryland 3 Ohio State 4. Michigan 5. Iowa 6. Indiana 7. Illinois 8. Penn State 9. Rutgers 10. Wisconsin 11. Purdue
  5. Michigan State lost to Purdue by 29. Purdue lost to Illinois by 26. Michigan is averaging losing by double digits in their five losses. Maryland lost by 18 to Iowa. Wisconsin lost to Richmond....at home. Ohio State already has three double digits losses in Big Ten play. Everyone is Jekyll and Hyde when you point out their high and low. The bottom line should be to look at who you played and what your overall record was against them. Everything else is just smoke and mirrors that pundits like to talk about to make themselves feel better about liking or disliking certain teams. At the end of the day, it should be about how many wins you have compared to your schedule.
  6. IU didn't play today yet moved up four spots in Pom from yesterday. Now up to 32.
  7. IMO, Team C's SOS is a mirage and a product of the messed up system that is used for SOS. As I've said prior, an NCAA team that plays a team ranked #1 and #360 is ranked as the same toughness as one that plays one team at #180 and one at #181. But a team that plays the first schedule that is a bubble team is almost certain to go 1-1 while a bubble team playing the second set is most likely to go 2-0. Team C has played 9 games in Quad 3 -- ones that should result in very rare losses for bubble teams.
  8. Bad shot selection by Penn. Iowa at the line up 3 with 29

  11. Really not sure how that was a blocking fould on IU. Iowa up 80-77
  12. Gluble, Berger, and Holmes with 4 each for IU. Czinao has fouled out for Iowa.
  13. Everyone see how far out on the court Iowa's coach was on the timeout?
  14. IU ball, 31.9 seconds left. Think the shot clock is at 26.
  15. Two straight bad offensive possessions for IU. 50 seconds, Iowa ball tied.
  16. Cziano fouls out for Iowa. That's big. She leaves with 23 points.
  17. Ticky-tack foul on Glubel as she picks up #4. Tie game.
  18. ....and she misses. IU ball and timeout and will have it at midcourt with 4 seconds.
  19. HORRIBLE call to give Iowa an and one for the lead. 5 seconds.
  20. Penn splits a pair. IU up 2 with 10 seconds left, Iowa ball. IU has a foul to give.
  21. Big bucket by IU and a missed layup by Iowa. IU ball up 1, 15 seconds left. Iowa foul.
  22. Iowa takes the lead on a 3.
