  1. And yet he's able to maintain a top 25 program in basketball. No I don't see drinking in a bar as an "alcohol problem". Optics problem? Maybe, but only if he's being a belligerent drunk everywhere. You'll have to forgive me, I forgot that the standards at IU, in Bloomington, IN, are so much higher than anywhere else
  2. Define "alcohol problem". Is he out in the streets shouting at little old ladies while drunk or getting hammered at a bar, like everybody else?
  3. The unanswered questions are for Scott D to find the answers to. If the answers satisfy him then by all means, hire Beard. If they concern him further, then don't
  4. Even so, he's not coming here and I'd put money on it
  5. It's 5 million according to espn
  6. Doesn’t appear that these guys took the "not tough team" remark to heart
  7. Keep in mind, these play by play guys probably don't know the inner workings of what has been going on within the program
  8. I don't play in "could". I play in most likely. Mr. Michigan AD, if you wouldn't mind, I'd love to coach at IU someday soon. With the odds of IU firing Woodson within the next year or so, could we make it easy for me to jump ship in the likely event that they carry out that firing? This conversation/thought process almost certainly didn't take place. It doesn't happen like that, especially within the conference
  9. Great then we're all in agreement. It shouldn't be about whether or not he drinks but whether or not he's going to get into legal trouble of that kind again while drinking. So let's stop hand wringing over the fact that he's probably still drinking
  10. It's laughable that you think THEY negotiated an easy buyout so he could jump ship to IU instead of making it easier for them to can him in the event that he didn't pan out. C'mon now
  11. Hoping for Dusty to jump ship to a conference opponent after only a year at Michigan feels alot like the NFL crowd that actually believes that an NFL team is going to trade for a sought after HC. Just not real likely folks
  12. So if we're going to shy away from "drinkers", nobody on our list will be coaching here
  13. Guys, we're not getting a mid major cat or someone who's not 100% in. It's going to be one of the top tier guys on the list. The basketball program simply can't go through another "hope this works" approach, which is exactly what you get with the guys at the mid major level. And I don't care how much you love them or how great of coaches you think they MIGHT be at the upper level. They can't play that game this go around. I think it's either Stevens or Beard. Dusty is not leaving Michigan after year 1. Michigan wouldn't have signed him if they had any idea he would jump ship that quickly. Those 2 are the ones I believe they're going to make a big push for
  14. Did somebody say Beard? *closes the door and hauls @$$*
  15. Let's face it, this isn't the worst thing that's been said today
  16. If both @Stuhoo and @Chris007 don't stop with their teasing posts I'm gonna run outta kleenex
  17. I really don't want to hear "we want Dusty" chants on Saturday. Why chant for the 3rd guy on the wish list that isn't leaving Michigan this offseason when you should be chanting "we want Stevens". Stevens is the white whale here, not Dusty. Dusty is the Welch's grape juice to Brad's chardonnay Be that as it may, IU will struggle with Michigan's perimeter game
  18. Holy smokes you folks putting up some pages today
  19. Well I'm not the one who rehashed it sooooooo
  20. Really, like Bob Knight errrrr how does this work? Chris Beard would most likely work very well here. Not sure if you're saying he isn't the answer because of his ability or his baggage. I can understand the latter albeit begrudgingly
