  1. Except this probably didn't affect whether he comes here or not. This wasnt a contingency pick up
  2. Not necessarily, Aiden is most likely being looked at for the 4 spot
  3. Seems like alot of people did for some reason. It's almost as if folks forgot the timeline that he had to work with last year. I went into the season with no expectations and even though they played at times like they could make it to the tourney, I wasn't disappointed that they didn't. I think he did what he could with what guys he was able to scrounge together in a hurry last year. This year, however, I'll really start to grade him as he's had an entire offseason with IU to recruit the players he wants in his system. Time will tell if he can make it at this level
  4. Why do you seem to think the this athletic department is short on money? This sentiment is very confusing. I have no doubt that the financials are robust. You can't look at the money they're throwing at the football team and think they dont have enough lettuce to put IU basketball at the top as far as money goes
  5. I'm going with Kent Sterling on the transfers this year. I will be showing no excitement in any of the transfers, regardless of potential. We've seen too many times folks get excited only to get kicked in the shorts. Personally, I'm still riding the football natty wave, so I'm not sure that I'm terribly attached at the moment anyways
  6. I don't know how much I buy this in the NIL era anymore. If IU isn't aiming high and throwing loads of money around to get those players then what are we doing here? There's no reason IU can't land the big fish. They have all the resources they need at this point. If players still refuse to come here then we really need to ask ourselves why.
  7. That's the difficult question to answer with alot of those kids. You just never know if they haven't made a living playing against top talent. Something tells me though that the administration is going to give DD all the money required to get top tier talent. You can't make a successful living in the Big 10 going after mid major players every year
  8. That was always a garbage rumor. If he didnt change his mind when Woody got canned, he wasn't going to leave now. The kid loves IU
  9. I didn't have high expectations for basketball this year to begin with. Best thing to do is allow the success of the football team to carry us through the basketball season. My grading scale will begin next season after DD has an entire offseason with the program to set it up.
  10. What are the odds of a watch party at Assembly Hall?
  11. This is going to be a "prove it" season for the program. They've hired a coach that's not going to bring in the type of talent we'd all like to see in his 1st year of a rebuild. He's going to have to prove that he can coach at this level before we start being serious contenders for the top talent. Not super shocked that things aren't looking.....favorable
  12. Unfortunately, IU is the the most uncertain program on his list.
  13. Yeah we're not doing this fella lol again, I stated my opinion that it's a difficult sell to recruits, you don't like it, fine. We're not turning this into a dick measuring contest
  14. To be fair, I did say that Bloomington was ok lol folks seem to be overlooking that
  15. Yeah, again, I'm not doing a state comparison here. I stated my argument that Indiana is not a great selling point to athletes. It isn't and that's factual. You love Indiana, great, but unless you can play guard or the 5 better than anybody on the team I don't really care about your personal feelings towards living there
  16. Been no word one way or the other yet
  17. My point still stands and anecdotal accounts don't disapprove what my point is
  18. I'm not straying into a state comparison here kiddo. Again, I lived in Indiana long enough to know that "Indiana is a fantastic place to live" is nonsense lol
  19. And I know alot more who don't lol
  20. No, it's an accurate post. Don't feel bad though, Indiana isn't the only boring state in the Midwest. It's simply on the list of states that nobody is beating down the door to move to, athletes especially
  21. Lived there for 25 years, I know exactly what that state is and isn't. More power to you if you find those areas to me massively impressive places to live but recruits and professional athletes don't seem to agree with you
  22. When the day comes when we've got recruits choosing between Indiana and San Fran, this comparison will mean something, as it stands, Indiana the state, is not a strong selling point for most recruits
