I very much doubt that the powers that be are watching this game with any sort of excitement. I mean we've trailed a bad OSU for most of this game

Still, that's a leap of faith that May would have to take. I don't think the firing of Mike Woodson mid season was the biggest optics issue, never have. The biggest optics issue, aside from the current **** sandwich on the floor, is who in the hell is running the show at IU? May has been turned away in favor of Woodson and those same idiots played a pivotal role in insulting the wife of a basketball genius, thus turning his family away. The pucker up job that will have to take place to put prospective candidates at ease is massive

I don't feel like anyone on this board has the connections to comment on Beard's current drinking habits. Hell, there's only a few people on this board who even have legit connections in IU. If you don't like him because of his "baggage", good for you. I'm to the point where I'm willing to take some baggage in exchange for success. Don't kid yourself, there are plenty of people up on a soapbox right now about his baggage but would shut up real quick if he made a deep tournament run. Stevens is 1A and Beard is 1B, after that you've got your pick of relative unknowns with "promise".

I've been wholeheartedly unimpressed with your thoughts regarding Woodson. In fact, if those that you know within the administration share your thought process then I see where the problem is. First off, firing Woodson mid season, at this point, is anything but an "emotional/knee jerk reaction" as you put it. We're so beyond a "knee jerk" reaction from a time standpoint alone that it's humorous you even offered that up. We've seen 4 years of the same garbage/inability to coach at this level from this guy on top of the fact that he was wildly unqualified to hold a collegiate coaching position to begin with. His grandpa aura is a major turnoff for alot of recruits and his arrogance is the "turd in the punch bowl" for the fans witnessing his coaching shortcomings. Secondly, you labor under the misconception that fans want him gone because we think an interim will bring better results on the court. That couldn't be further from the truth. Nobody on that staff could be trusted to lift this roster into a winner, however, nobody on that staff has developed into the wart on this fanbase's @$$ like Woodson. Maybe Hill but that's only by association and the fact that he appears to be sleeping through this misery. This fanbase could take damn near anybody else's face at those press conferences and would be perfectly fine with a washed season at this point. Nobody is asking for CC or Hulls or Walsh to take over because they expect better results. They'll take anybody as long as it isn't Woodson just to get him off that sideline. Finally, I don't care what the process "is". The process needs to think about changing and changing quickly. The optics are far worse if they keep him for the season and this dumpsterfire continues. If those in the administration are using terms/phrases like "knee jerk", "emotional reaction", or "it's not going to gain us immediately better results", then they need to grow a pair or leave.
