  1. It was called a foul on Lance by both refs when it happened, which was obviously the correct call. Somehow Webber and Marv missed that and said it was a jump ball (refs never made that signal), and confused the hell out of everyone. The review was for a potential tech, but nothing ended up being called. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. It looks like you have to subscribe to ESPN+ to see it, which likely means almost no one will see it.
  3. Today was Vic’s coming out party to the NBA. I know he’s been doing it all season, but this was on national television, in the playoffs, against Lebron. It’s amazing how much his game has developed since being a role player who couldn’t shoot in high school. Every year he’s just gotten better and better. There is no former player that I am more proud of to call a Hoosier. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  5. I like to stand out from the crowd... Yogi, do not PM me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  6. Easy... Al was planning on getting a ride from Josh to Cook Hall, but Josh has been stuck in the bathroom for the last 20 minutes.
  7. Completely agree with this Stuhoo. Unfortunately, not knowing anything won't keep the "insiders" who happen to be right from patting themselves on the back and claiming they knew the whole time.
  8. I know its hard for some to fathom, but not every person approaches the decision making process in the same way. Some people take in information and make decisions very quickly and decisively, while others take there time and often find it hard to commit. If Romeo falls into the second group, I don't think it would be unreasonable to think that he really doesn't know where he wants to go yet. Sometimes you need a deadline to force that decision, and because that deadline hasn't come yet he can continue to put it off.
  9. If building basketball specific dorms is the cost of being elite, then I guess I'm not willing to be elite. I'll still root for the team regardless. Apologies if that makes me any less of a fan.
  10. I think living in dorms your freshmen year with a bunch of people you've never met and wouldn't necessarily hang out with is part of what makes college great. It may be uncomfortable at first, but it builds character and forces you to grow up more quickly. Personally, I think that part of the college experience is nearly as important as the classes themselves. If the players lived in separate dorms, they just won't get that. Call me old fashioned, but if they want to be student athletes I think they should actually live with other students. If that loses us some recruits then so be it.
  11. A university's success is not defined by athletic performance, it's defined by academic performance. IU has a $3.5 billion budget and just $100 million of that is devoted to athletics. The athletic department is a very small part of the president and board's responsibility, and while they should strive to make it as competitive as possible, at the end of the day the school's mission and it's financial priority is to focus on academics (as it should be). It would be impractical to judge the president and board based on a department that makes up less than 3% of their financial responsibility.
  12. This may be a new forum, but it’s still the sam story.
  13. Not sure, but at least it’s coming from McRite. If his name was McWrong I’d be a little more skeptical.
  14. Another great example was this guy... He won 3 MVPs, and then saw McGwire and Sosa break the Home Run record. He knew he was twice the player they were, and just couldn’t sit back and watch those seasons go unanswered.
  15. So... about that Indiana vs Arizona game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. I think it’s funny how many recruiting “theories” are going to be proven right or wrong by this decision. The BtownBanners theorists may get their predictions right, but that doesn’t necessarily make there version of the events that led to the decision right. I am seeing much more conjecture than evidence being thrown around. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. This post should be re-purposed for all potential recruits when they visit other campuses. Just switch out a few names and we'll be set. It could also be used when said recruits visit Bloomington as well, as some fans tend to get there hopes up too much every time we see the inevitable positive post-visit interview.
  18. I expected him to visit Vandy and talk to Self before this was all over. This is what the recruiting process looks like. The freak outs over unsurprising news is hilarious.
  19. Everyone knows that the correct response from a good kid to any prospective fans prior to deciding on a college is to cease social media activity, remove any expression from your face, and stare directly at the ground. Only a heartless sociopath would acknowledge their presence or have a smile on their face.
  20. Victor has been amazing for the Pacers, and he has been my favorite Pacer to watch since the days of Reggie. With that said he is neither the best player in the league or the most valuable player in the league, and I don't think it's that close on either.
  21. I think sometimes people forget on these forums that the primary mission at universities is academic and not athletic. IU’s operating budget is around $3.5 billion, and it’s athletic budget only makes up about $100 million of that. You don’t jeopardize the university’s academic reputation for its athletics. It doesn’t make sense logically, ethically, or economically.
  22. I found this leaked photo of the FBI's lead investigators in the case...
  23. Only one company is on the cutting edge of both shoe technology and fashion, and has some nice crimson in their kicks to match our jerseys...
  24. Good point... our pretty girls will show up free of charge.
  25. Flint was a perfect hire for Archie. I'm pretty sure you couldn't find more than a couple assistant coaches at the college level that could match his D1 head coaching experience. The timing worked out well, and we were extremely lucky to have been able to land him.
