  1. Bliss was from RMK's tree...
  2. Didn't stop them from wearing the ugly Black History Month uniforms... not a big deal, but why one and not the other? Both were ugly as sin.
  3. I think Woodson made the same argument a few weeks ago... /s
  4. I'm pretty sure that it has a lot to do with the program leadership this year and for the past 4 years... just a guess, though...
  5. Well, silicone is pretty resilient...
  6. Wow... that approach is way too logical to really work. Self-reflection is important here, both in terms of personalities (who did we hire) and process (why did we hire them). Of course the guy doing the search and hiring this time isn't the guy who has done any of these past hires, but you still need to evaluate what has happened in the past. There are a lot of names being tossed around, and only one of them will get the job... as a fanbase, we have to recognize that there's no guarantees, but we need a process that will get us as close to the "home run hire" as we can possibly get. Indiana University has the resources... Dolson just needs to do the work... and I have to believe that he will get it right.
  7. He wore a wedding dress to North Korea? Wow... must have missed that... /s
  8. Personally, I'm weary... can it just be April and we know what we're doing from that point on? This is making me really, really tired.
  9. I do remember reading that somewhere, and it was a source that I thought was credible, but at this point, I don't remember where it was... it could be incorrect info, and if so, I apologize.
  10. Yeah, I can't say 100% that the revenue sharing will be equal among all players on a team, but I do remember reading that somewhere... I could be wrong - it wouldn't be the first time. /s
  11. That's the problem with how this whole thing is constructed. The concept of NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) is NOT pay for play... it was set up to compensate the players for use of their name, their image and their likeness... in theory, to allow them to be paid for their inclusion in video games, to be able to endorse local businesses and products, etc... but as it's currently implemented, it has become pay for play. So, rather than being paid a few bucks to hawk Billy Bob's Bargain Emporium, Johnny Athlete gets paid $1M to come play basketball at Indiana (or Duke, or Kentucky, etc)... The revenue sharing is coming and as I understand it, it will be used to compensate all players as equitably as possible, based on the distribution across the various sports... so, everyone on the basketball team will get the same sized slice of pie... and the football players will get the same sized slice of pie, but the size of their slice of pie will be different (bigger or smaller) that the water polo team get. Unfortunately, the genie is out of the bottle, and the whole thing is a pay for play situation not unlike the Kansas and UCLA and Kentucky and Duke payouts of days gone by, except this payout is above the table instead of under it. And the bottom line is there appears to be no accountability from the players, nor is there any discernible rhyme or reason for who gets what kind of payout (Leal and Gallo being paid to defense Woodson, for example). We also have to assume that whoever the next coach is, his way of distributing NIL will be much different than his predecessor... and I suppose, with the current structure, that will be within his purview to do.
  12. Probably gone Upstairs again?
  13. I thought that coaches on the PA was verboten. I remember back in the day when Knight used to do that… but didn’t the NCAA issue orders to not allow that? T him up.
  14. Again, is this (1) What we think will happen or (2) Which is our preference?
  15. Are you saying that Cory is coming? /s
  16. Please tell me more... when did he screw up previously?
  17. Man, that would be SO disappointing... can you imagine how that would go? Would be epic...
  18. They will... someone has to remind us to chill...
  19. Ok, this is a tough one... not really a Mick Cronin guy... but yuck... Jay Bilas?
  20. Yep... Dolson should call Woodson into the office and tell him that he's reconsidered ... hire him back just so he can fire him again...
  21. I'd focus totally on Grand Canyon University ... Lopes Up, baby!
  22. I haven't followed Cronin or UCLA... so the question I have relates to context. Have the fans consistently booed the team in similar situations? Have they generally been supportive of the team, and this was a "one-off"? Compare this to Woodson at IU ... the toxic booing didn't happen until he completely crapped the bed this year ... the fans reached a point of frustration where we had a $6M payroll and were losing by 30 at home to Illinois ... from where I sit, it appears to be a vastly different situation in LA than here in Bloomington.
  23. But that's exactly the issue... and why hiring Cronin at IU could be problematic - especially as the administrations answer to the past 4 years of the Woodson Entitlement Era.
  24. Didn't Crean have some of that? And I recall Cliff Marshall on Twitter (pre-X days) with some of it too... curious if that became an issue around the program... With that said, from what I've seen of Drew, he seems to be more vocal with it... not in a "preachy" way, but talking about it a good amount..
