  1. Experienced at P4 level as HC or AHC Young-ish (under 55) Good recruiter - can relate to HS/college kids. Holds them accountable for on- and off-court stuff Can teach and develop skills No serious off-court issues Runs a modern offense and tough, hard-nose defense Energetic Self-aware and honest ... can "own" any shortcomings Doesn't throw team/players under the bus Doesn't play two-bigs offense, no trey-phobia Recognizes that ALL fans are TRUE fans... doesn't try to drive a wedge in the fanbase.
  2. Nah... just tuck and roll... he'll be sufficiently anesthetized to avoid injury.
  3. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then...
  4. I hear that... I'm not as old as you ('68?) or the Old Fart ('66) ... graduated in 76 ... but yeah, the clock is ticking on me, too.
  5. Haha... not quite how I envisioned spending my retirement years... but here I am. :D
  6. Heading to X for the AntWright version of this one. :D
  7. Indeed... could this get any stranger? If Dolson's "guy" is Mark Turgeon, then I'm out and IU is screwed, blue and tattooed.
  8. Agreed... and the one we got (Archie) crapped the bed...
  9. Yep... keep him there in the Mountain West Conference where he's competitive.
  10. Actually, I like that idea... I actually heard it somewhere (maybe Brian Evans)... but make him a seriously over the top offer... and one of two things will happen: Matt Painter becomes our coach Purdue has to spend an exorbitant amount of money to keep him. Both ways, we win.
  11. Well, it does tend to keep things hopping around here...
  12. I will say there must be something in the water... there's been a tremendous influx of trolls, whackos and other ne'er-do-wells roaming the halls of BTB these days...
  13. Naw... Haris walks funny after the 'finger check'.
  14. Plus, he still has some of those credit cards tucked away for an emergency...
  15. While that May be true... no way I make that trade...
  16. Trick question... a top 2 or 3 coach in the game would demand top NIL...
  17. Neo? You want Keanu Reeves to coach basketball here? /s
  18. That's a very sad commentary on the state of Indiana basketball... historically crap for 30+ years... let's get a guy with no off-court issues who can turn this around... please...
  19. So you're the one negotiating with BS' peeps. Gotcha. *wink*
  20. Just replying to a post, directly related to hiring/not hiring Dusty May last season ... so, move on, sheriff. /S
  21. Yes, hiring coaches is the job of the AD. But there are so many moving parts here that clearly point to Buckner and Ferguson's interference. Dolson absolutely could have fired Woodson last year, and according to reports, he wanted to do it. But WQB inserted his influence and forced the issue. The chain of command is coaches (Woodson) report to the AD (Dolson), the AD reports to the president (Pam Whitten) and she answers to the Board of Trustees. Buckner is the chair of the BoT, so he's ultimately sitting at the top of the food chain. Buckner and Woodson are buddies. Former BoT member Steve Ferguson is also in the King's entourage. So, Dolson could have fired Woodson after last year... and how does this play out? Buckner leans on Whitten to fire Dolson. Buckner and Ferguson lean on their donor buddies and the NIL dries up. Buckner and the BoT refuses to approve/fund the replacement coach's salary. Just because it's not Buckner's job to hire/fire coaches doesn't mean that he doesn't exert influence in this area. This information has been widely reported around here since this point last season. It's hard to fight the nepotism, corruption, interference and malfeasance from the BoT.
