Despite his rambling and his scrambled/baked brain, I find him quite entertaining. His interview on Dakich’s show several years ago was epic.

Also, here are the individual player stats for FTA/FTM... the numbers are off just a bit from the game stats above (401/618 v 398/615), so take it for what it's worth.
-
Here's a quick recap of FT for the season... overall, the Hoosiers made 401 of 618 free throws (64.9%). Season high percentage was 90% (9/10 v Wisconsin), and 81.8% (18/22 v Penn State). Season low percentage was 41.4% (12/29 v Howard) and 44.4 (8/18 v Rutgers). Most attempts in a game this season was 33 v Indiana State and 29 three times. Least number of attempts this season was 9 v Iowa and Nebraska. The Hoosiers beat their season average (64.9%) 16 times.

That was my point. It's unreasonable to expect to pay every athlete, participating in every sport at every school... It's simply not feasible.
-
My issue with paying players (any players in any sport) is that only the major sports in the Big 5 conferences would be able to do so... most of the minor sports are money losers, and for mid-major schools, even basketball/football barely break even. Imagine the fun when people start suing via Title IX and similar because male athletes in BB/FB get paid and the ladies' tidily-wink team does not. Slippery slope, my friend.

Awesome... Walton, poster boy for everything that is/was wrong at UCLA, is pontificating about morality and ethics... what is happening at Arizona is "woefully wrong and staggeringly sad", and goes against everything Walton believes in and tries to live for.
-
Walton is calling the Arizona-Oregon game... this should be epic.

So far ... hope we did for real. -

Wasn’t he at Memphis with Calipari? -
I can’t even feign shock or surprise at that crap. DickieV is a big mouth, ACC homer that loves to hear himself spew. Only Billy Packer was more of an ACC/Dook homer.

IMO, if he’s smart, it does ... -
Deny, deny, deny... then slip into obscurity.
-
He's doing the Syracuse v Duke game... gonna be a massive "love fest". But he's already got Sean Miller under the bus... Interesting that DickieV thinks the Arizona thing is NOT SHOCKING, but he can still defend the All-American wholesomeness of Boeheim and K...
-
This right here. Nuke it all and start over with some REAL standards and then, live up to the standards. Sadly, the stink is everywhere you look.
-
No thanks. It's probably not a smart move to go after any of these kids that are/were involved with the programs mentioned so far... the aura of their corruption will certainly be on the kids, and, by extension, anyone that touches them.
-
Bobby Hurley and the boys at Arizona State would love that... and as an ASU fan, so would I. #justsaying
-
Great. Clear him. Let him play. When the dirt is found (and if he's dirty, it will be found), let Sparty vacate the championship and kick Tommy Boy to the curb. Gonna go throw up now. It's disgusting.
-
Stick a fork in Sean Miller... he's done... Greg Hanson is a sports columnist at the Tucson paper, The Arizona Daily Star just tweeted this:
-
If the HC/staff is making public comments about a recruit who just verballed (but hasn't signed), that's a recruiting violation.
-
All the way back to John Wooden and Sam Gilbert... that sill pisses me off beyond words... UCLA was held up as the program that was head and shoulders above the rest for their incredible runs of NCAA championships... with talent bought and paid for. What we're seeing now is history repeating itself on a much larger, wider scale. Don't even try to tell me that the NCAA and the rest of the world did not know what was going in with The Wizard of Westwood. I'm not buying it.
-
and if so... does that affect the Romeo decision?
-
What was Crean's role as an assistant at MSU under Izzo? Wasn't he a recruiter? The current FBI investigation supposedly only covers the past 3 seasons or so, but could there be a connection there? Was Crean dirtier than we expected? Maybe a matter of "learning at the master's feet"?
-
This could very well turn into an "IRS type" investigation... go back 3 years... if they find something, keep digging backwards in time.
-
But it's a child's game with a huge payout/payoff. Where there's big money, there will always be big corruption. Write that down. In ink.
-
No. How is it that Pitino and Izzo are scum (for doing it), but Sean is just "playing the game"? If he's doing (did) the same thing that the "scum" is doing, how can he not also be "scum"? You can't grade this on the curve. Being dirty is like being pregnant... either you are or you aren't.
