I guess my biggest concern is what exactly Glass considers "doing well." I'm not convinced "consistent national title contender" is where he sets the bar, and I think that's where a lot of us here want him to set it.

I could see that happening as he's so big on player development/getting guys to the next level. He might assume that if all of the players are getting better individually that it'll translate to an improved team without him really having to focus on it. I personally wish he'd focus less on player development and more on developing a team.

Theyre probably as confused as we all are about how they lost to IU and then our season has gone the way it has. Coaching is the easy answer but it makes me wonder if something is going on internally. Crean's teams are known for peaking early but they've been on a downward spiral since late November... Our guys seem to be getting worse as the season goes along.

That would be the worst scenario possible. Glass would be impressed that Crean turned the season around and give him a 5-6 year extension. The stuff of nightmares lol.

Our only two wins against teams worth a crap are UNC and Kansas. Of course those are outstanding wins, but they're not enough to get us into the tournament. I could see this team falling off the cliff and going sub-.500 in the Big 10. We lack leadership on the court and the players have no one on the sideline they can look to for it. I think every loss puts more doubt into their heads. TB and OG are MIA, and our schedule only gets harder from here on out. A couple weeks ago I said I thought we might miss the tournament. At that point I hoped I was just being a prisoner of the moment and overreacting, but now I think there's a legitimate chance of it happening. This might get ugly...

De'ron needs to get more than two shots. I wouldn't be against him and TB switching minutes.

He's gotta use his big frame or else a lot of his shots are going to get blocked since he isn't very athletic. He's still further along than I expected him to be this year tho, and a better post option than Bryant imo.

De'ron dribbles too much when he gets it. He needs to be able to get to a point where he can take 1-2 dribbles and make a move.

This is a terrible decision at face value. He was a good back for us but I never thought of him as an NFL prospect during his time here. He probably saw the writing on the wall and realized the carries weren't going to be there for him next year. Might as well take a chance and see what happens while his stock is as high as it'll get. I can't fault him for that. Best of luck to him!

100% this! We need to be playing our starters 30+ minutes a night. Kids need breathers from time to time but Crean's breathers tend to turn into 3 day weekends on the bench. If our guys aren't physically capable of playing 30+ minutes then that's on the coaching staff for not having them in shape. They're 18-22 years old and only play a few games each week. It's not the NBA where they're playing back to backs all the time. They're not going to get worn out by playing that much.. They would honestly probably prefer it.

If Crean unleashed something like this on our guys I think our season would turn around immediately.

Our guys would probably still be running suicides right now because of the Nebraska loss if Knight was our coach lol.

TB's been the biggest disappointment for me this year. He looks like a shell of his freshman year self out there sometimes. I hope he manages to get it together. I'd like to see some more TB/Davis lineups but the way Bryant's been playing lately I'd rather just stick with Davis. I think we all expected a little too much from OG this year because of the flashes of brilliance he showed last season. He's a very good player, and some of it could be lingering effects from his ankle injury, but right now he's not quite where we expected him to be. If he stays another year I think he could take a massive, Oladipo-esque, leap. I'm optimistic that our guys will step up and right the ship. We should know within the next 2-3 weeks whether this season will be salvaged or if this thing is going up in flames.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but I have to disagree on us not being a top 10 team talent wise. We don't get the highest ranked kids and we don't pull down top 5-10 recruiting classes, but I think if you gave this squad to an Izzo or a Coach K they'd have them competing for a national championship. We have a lot of nice puzzle pieces right now but they're not being put in the right spots. Not even close. I'm jealous you got to watch Coach Knight's teams growing up. That's one thing I wish I could've had the chance to do.
