  1. Wow. That is stupid.
  2. Man this is crazy. You'd never think this is a BTT game.
  3. I don't get it either. It's not like he's Alford and tried to cover up a freaking rape The guy has won everywhere he's been. He's been a regular in the tournament at schools like freaking Winthrop and Wichita State. Give him IU's roster this year and I'd bet we'd be approaching 25 wins right now. He's been to a freaking Final 4 at Wichita State. He's a great coach.
  4. Someone needs to post the Athletic Director's email and just flood his inbox, pleading not to hire Alford. This can't be possibly happening.
  5. Are they relocating IU to Los Angeles?
  6. No doubt. I'd rather have Archie or take a flier on Fife instead of Alford. DO NOT WANT.
  7. In a manner of speaking, yes.
  8. True, and who knows, maybe an IU booster owns or is high up in that software company and let us use his plane. Not that far fetched at all.
  9. Marshall. Can't argue with his results. Only drawback is his ability to recruit Indiana and the midwest, but I think if he recruits at least as well as Crean did, we'd be competing every year for a conference title. The guy has done nothing but win everywhere he's been.
  10. Agree, the only thing that gives me pause is whether or not he has the energy/desire for another rebuild. Then again, maybe that's what he specializes in. Bringing a program back from the ashes into respectability.
  11. Exactly. Otherwise he would have just done what Stevens did and said "no". I trust 0708 over there, he's not blowing smoke. We could have something on our hands here...
  12. Is it odd that I just can't get excited about Archie? I would take him and he'd be a good fail-safe, but we'd have to strike out with Donovan, Marshall, Sean Miller, and Bennett for me to want Archie. I hope it doesn't get that far.
  13. A flight left Bloomington for Dayton today, according to Flight Aware.
  14. Super hot take right there.
  15. Plus who knows, maybe Mizzou officials would have met him in St. Louis. None of us would have any idea what their day-to-day is like, it's entirely feasible they do some weekend business in St. Louis, or they want Crean so much they're willing to go out of their way to accommodate him by driving to St. Louis themselves.
  16. First shoe to drop with Missouri announcing Kim Anderson stepping down. Could be an interesting couple of days.
  17. I predict this board will straight-up crash if we hire Donovan. No way can it handle all the lurkers who will have to sign up as posters and regular posters at the same time.
  18. Furthermore, it would make the conference collectively sh1t their pants, not to mention any school that makes an effort to recruit the Midwest. We'd instantly have the best coach in the B1G.
  19. Man, can you imagine the impact of IU hiring Donovan, especially if it was announced in the next few weeks? It would dominate headlines, even during the most important time of the year in NCAA basketball. Everyone - coaches, media, recruits, players, casual fans - would take notice. I'm getting way too giddy about this possibility.
  20. He's still employed by Indiana University to the tune of $3M per year. He's doing his job. Fred Glass isn't going to take away his corporate credit card and change the locks to Cook Hall just yet.
  21. Thread may be getting too long for the servers to handle. I click on the "take me to first unread message" icon and it goes right to page 260 or so.
  22. If this had been the third time in 4 years Collins had made the tournament at Northwestern, after previously having taken them to a Sweet 16 and a few top-4 B1G finishes, then yeah I say go for him as one of the top choices. But that's not the case. He limped into the tournament during the worst B1G year ever and still has yet to really beat anyone good. Great coach for Northwestern, he'll be a legend there forever. But it's still way too early to take a gamble on him. He honestly reminds me of Tim Miles and how some fans wanted him on the short list after he took Nebraska to the tournament a few years ago. Since then? Nothing. Hard pass.
  23. Yeesh. No way does he deserve talk like this. I mean the guy isn't Sampson.
  24. I chose Sean Miller, hope for Billy Donovan, but won't be surprised to see the headline in one week saying "Breaking: Indiana fires Crean, hires VT's Buzz Williams".
  25. And even Zeller, who grew up not an hour or two from Bloomington, stated his main reason for choosing IU over UNC/Butler was because of the players and coaches. I vividly remember watching his interviews after he committed to IU, and the press would specifically ask him about how much IU's history and tradition played into his decision, to which he gave lip service saying "yeah it was a factor," but he would always say his relationship with Crean and the players on the team was his primary reason for choosing IU. The same reason Tyler Zeller DIDN'T choose IU, because the relationship with the players and coaches under Sampson was way different, yet the prestige and tradition of IU was no less esteemed historically.
