  1. Right there with you. I'm nearing a state of apathy. 38 years old, and probably only watched half our games this season. Probably will watch even less next year, although I'll always peruse the message boards. This is playing out just like my Chicago Bears fandom. I stopped watching a few years ago, just couldn't take anymore after the decades of awful decisionmaking, mismanagement, etc. So I just stopped when I realized mediocrity had dug in and found itself a home in that franchise. IU basketball is no better.
  2. Yeah and there's a Jersey-based Rutgers fan on Rivals who said Mgbako has been putting out NIL feelers to other programs lately. Who knows how true that is, but I feel like a majority of former 5 star players are going to at least gauge interest like that these days.
  3. And after dropping all of our marquee nonconference games next season: "Honestly man, we had no idea Xavier Johnson would graduate. Totally blindsided us that he had been in college for 6 years. To lose his production and experience so suddenly and unexpectedly was devastating." "That's why I'd like to introduce my new Director of Player Eligibility, Mr. Kenny Payne."
  4. It's more a product of him not thinking he has to, IMO, than not wanting to put the effort in. I legit think Mike Woodson believes he swings such a huge **** coming from the NBA, so he doesn't have to step into a high school gym and recruit 16-18 y/o kids. His reputation precedes him. In his mind, he's a few years removed from coaching Carmelo Anthony in NYC and some of the greatest athletes in the world. And now he has to go to Greenfield and shake hands with Braylin Mullins? Yeah, he's above that.
  5. Still fuming this morning. Does Quinn Buckner really believe Dusty May isn't good enough for IU? But in his mind, Mike Woodson is? What a horse's @$$.
  6. Not a bad lineup, but also not great either. And that's the frustration. An ok lineup coached by a below average coach is not a recipe for success. I don't think we'll be terrible next year, especially if we do have a boatload of NIL to throw around. Way too early to tell though. Best case scenario I see is something like 20-11. Good enough for a 6 seed in the tournament. Are we ok with that? Because I sure as hell am not. I'm sick of this basketball purgatory we have chosen to be in. I will never root for IU to lose. But I definitely don't have to take the time to root for mediocrity.
  7. Auditioning for potential teams when the transfer portal opens.
  8. People have negative views of Mike Woodson because he's bad at coaching basketball. Fans are choosing not to attend games because this team is not enjoyable to watch. Anyone involved with hiring a 63 year-old coach who won 46% of his games over a decade ago isn't qualified to run a lemonade stand.
  9. Dusty May to Ohio State Trent Sisley to Purdue Braylon Mullins to Notre Dame Kenny Payne to IU Let that sink in.
  10. Dude just root for Purdue. You'll be much happier.
  11. You're about to catch up on some sleep buddy.
  12. Wouldn't want to burden Mike Woodson with the duties of being a head coach.
  13. So the meeting next Tuesday is after the season, but before the BTT. I don't know why I'm encouraged by that. I doubt they'd say "hey win the BTT or you're out."
  14. This is where I am. As exciting and intriguing the Bruce Pearl possibility is, Dusty just makes more sense to me. I feel like Dusty May would lock up Sisley and Mullins before the leaves start changing colors this fall.
  15. Sounds like there's some real smoke on McNeeley now. Had some info shared with me from a Kansas fan whose kid is at KU, and what he's heard: - If Woodson leaves, or there's a mass exodus of players, he'll definitely ask out of his LOI. Can't say I'm surprised, but wanted to share in case anyone else has been hearing similar info.
  16. So Trilly sits on 60% of his intel? Man I'd love to know what else he's hearing about us.
  17. This is where my mind went. Feels like a slow yet steady drip of information. So what's the ace up his sleeve? Does Dolson know someone at ESPN he could leak "Pearl, Hoosiers Have Mutual Interest" teasers to? Guess we'll find out.
  18. Yeah plus remember Woodson's buyout would be offset by his earnings from the next high major coaching job he would definitely get if he was let go.
  19. I'm convinced Buckner hired Archie and then Woodson knowing they would be mediocre at best, that way he protects his legacy and everyone can reminisce about how great the program was when he played. He knows he can count on fan support to keep the AD running in the black.
  20. If getting Pearl requires IU naming his son as the coach-in-waiting then I want no part of that. JMO. It isn't worth the risk.
  21. Seriously I'm done with being a fan if May goes to OSU and we run it back with Woodson. I can only stomach May to OSU if we end up with someone proven like Oats or Pearl.
  22. Woodson thinks he swings a way bigger stick than he actually does with in state recruits.
  23. Probably one of those weirdos who enjoys time with his wife and kids every evening.
