I think certain coaches are looking for a raise at their current school.

For God sakes, Woodson shouldn't even make it through the day. Every minute he remains our coach is delaying the inevitable.

Hopefully Scott Dolson is busy this morning coming up with 10 million good reasons why Woodson should retire.

The general feeling among Alabama fans on Rivals is that they won't be able to hold onto him after this season. Yikes. I'm willing to bet one of Dusty May or Nate Oats will be in the B1G next year.

Michigan fans seem to think they have a real chance at Oats. If that happens and OSU gets Dusty, Scott may have a real decision to make. One that I'm not convinced is even being considered right now.

Honestly I'm sorry, but this post irritates me almost as much as Leal's comments do. Who are you to tell me who I need to root for? I've always been an IU fan but don't mistake that for having blind, unconditional support. A 21 year old kid who has hardly any athleticism and barely contributes to the team, yet has 6 figures in his bank account BECAUSE of the fan support, tells those same fans "there's a reason you aren't coaches" or "you just need to chill" when the team had underperformed at 18-13 just rubs me the wrong way. And thus, makes it harder to root for them. Rant over.

Yeah his comments on senior day, plus Leal's, pretty much made it impossible to cheer for them.

Nebraska is a better job than Vanderbilt. Especially right now. Also why does Hoiberg need a fresh start? Odd thing to say given that he's getting an at-large tournament berth this year.

Maybe we could pull him from either school the way Texas Tech poached Chris Beard from UNLV mere days after he was hired.

Well if you're not a huge fan of building a roster through the portal you may want us to stay away.

Do players need to officially enter the portal to field offers from other teams? Or is there enough back channel talk going on that makes that unnecessary?

Plus Woodson knows he'd have to hit multiple home runs in the portal, in addition to retaining the guys on his roster that he wants back. That's a tough task.

Missouri went winless in conference play. That means they haven't won a game since December. Brutal. They won't win a game in 2024 until the 2024-2025 season. That's nuts.

Purdue making a deep run in the NCAAT would substantially put additional heat on Woodson, as fan pressure would exponentially increase. That's a silver lining of Purdue having success this March. If Woodson flames out in the NIT a week or 2 after defiantly telling fans "I've done my job" and then we fans watch Painter take Purdue to a Final 4, then yeah, that won't sit well with me. Those words may come back to bite him.

I get it. Maybe he could fit, and it would pay off. I would be a terrible leader for my team at work, but I'm damn good in my role now. Sometimes people aren't cut out for certain positions. And there's nothing wrong with that. However, Bob Knight used to say "Don't let mediocrity infiltrate your program." Kenny Payne would be mediocrity infiltrating our program. Adding him to a staff that already includes Woodson and Armond Hill means it's digging in and setting up a permanent home.

Yep, he and Mike Woodson can have contests on who is less to blame for the team's shortcomings next year.

It's all pointless anyway on if the meeting actually happened or what came of it. Nothing will change the fact Woodson is coming back next year.

To me that team is slightly below what we had in 2022-2023. Not great, but definitely not awful either. Without seeing a schedule, I'd guess 21 wins and a 6 seed in the NCAAT. With no foundation for the following year via 2024, we're right back where we started in 2025. The problem is that he absolutely needs to hit home runs this portal season to achieve what you've laid out. The margin for error is very small.

Good research. Sounds like a pretty good model for the coaches out there who don't have time or ability to develop talent.

They definitely cheered, but it was at that point they would have cheered anything that came out of his mouth since he is a fan favorite and it was his moment.
