Hilarious. I'm sure LaFluer's driveway could use shoveling up in Green Bay this winter. He should offer Kelly a job.

I posted in the other thread, but from the NBA perspective he's only referred to as "Coach A" in the Rozier case... but... Billups also told people that they were tanking and and let them know of Injuries that weren't public. He's toast in the NBA if that can be proven true.

The big question... Would Cig be able to keep him out of the Manning Passing Academy?

Outside of the zone defense we have tried to play. Really impressed with everything else tonight. (I know its Marian, but defensive intensity has been excellent) -

Might need to call a doctor in 4 hours after watching this first half offense. -
If we lose Haines or Shanahan it won't be for more money at a different program for the same position. It will be for a head coaching job, which we won't be able to do much about if that's what they want. But unlike the Allen era, the school is committed to the program and will pay for a qualified replacement. Obviously I'd love to keep them for as long as possible; but if they do leave for a head coaching job, I have faith in Cig and IU to fill those positions out successfully.

Scott Dolson was on the Big Red Carpet tonight. He mentions being very busy since the Oregon game as an athletic department as they cannot get complacent and need to make sure everything keeps rolling. It sure sounded like he was implying that they were going to ensure that Curt Cignetti wouldn't be going anywhere. Wouldn't be surprised to see some sort raise and another extension for Cig announced in the next couple weeks.

Rhule is a good football coach, but so is James Franklin. I just see the Rhule ceiling being the same as the Franklin ceiling. I understand moving on from Franklin, as things have gotten toxic the last couple weeks, but I'd be pretty dejected as a PSU fan by hiring a guy whose knock (unable to win big games) is the exact same knock as the guy you fired. Maybe it's the best they can do if they want to go with a proven guy at the major level. But man; it feels like a tough sell.

Paying 50 million dollars to fire James Franklin, only to hire a worse version of James Franklin is an interesting strategy.

I'm pretty sure his position/role changed on defense leading to a dip in numbers. But dont quote me on that. He's still been getting a ton of pressures and having an impact, just not showing up on the stat sheet.

(2026) - Anthony Thompson to O$U
tyappleg replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Yep. He was not a bad player, just didn't fit. (A big part of Woodson's problems here stem from that). But when the only decent HS recruits you can get are guys who decommit and need to make a quick decision, that happens. -

The difference here at least is the staff has been involved with Thompson. They know who he is. Woodson probably didn't even know Mgbako's name before he decommitted from Duke.
