I completely agree with Hova. Nothing compares to being in the Hall and I just hate watching a game that's a mile away from me on TV so I do try to get tickets to every game I can.

As for the attendance this year, don't be fooled by the pregame pictures because the crowd always fills up except for some parts of the student section probably due to the late arriving crowd. This does point to a student problem and I hope we can fix this issue for next year. In my opinion, the crowd is way louder and packed than last year and I don't even think it's close. Last year was just bad.
One thing I will give credit to my fellow students is that we do know when a big game is coming up and I fully expect a great atmosphere at every other home game we have this year.

Look in the stands at any other game and you will see way more open seats than we have. Just remember that yeah maybe not all of the 17,472 seats are full but we still have more fans at the games than 99% of the NCAA.

It is possible in the sense that it is something he would be able to do under NCAA rules.  It seems so not plausible to me that he would want to go elsewhere.  I'd put it at <1% chance.

I'll weigh in...I transferred here to be a part of the culture I had heard so much about from family and friends that are current students and alums here, while also earning a degree. A major part of that culture is the basketball program. Ever since I've been old enough to drive, I have much preferred going to a game (any game, not just IU-related) than watching from home. I'm always looking for tickets to something because I just enjoy being in the atmosphere. To me, there is nothing better than being in The Hall for a game. I go alone if I have to because being there beats watching on TV every time for me. I realize my time here is limited so I'll absutely take advantage of every cheap student ticket I can get my hands on. If people don't want to go, that's fine, hopefully you get your ticket sold so as many people are there as possible, but what annoys me are the people that go and have no interest in the game. I kid you not, at the Maryland game I had a group of kids behind me at the end of the first half say "this is boring, let's go get wasted", and left before halftime. Or girls that will go to their GA (!!!!) seats, take pictures for the first half, and leave at halftime. Please, I beg of you, if that's why you're buying tickets, stop so I can get more games in my package.

This was the exact question my son was asking me as I tucked him in last night.  I told him that it is always possible.  As I was on my way out of his room he sighed and said, “I really wish we would have made this play or that play.”  I told him that I understood how he felt.  I then asked him the following questions: Did the players that missed opportunities let up on the defensive end after not making the play?  Do you think our players and their coaches did everything they could in preparation to win this game?  Do you feel that everyone on this team expected to win this game during the entire course of the game?  We agreed that it was an awesome game and our Hoosiers made us proud.  I then closed his door.

I went to the living room to begin watching the game again and pulled up btownbanners.  Curious to see if there would be as many positive statements as there have been over the last couple of days, I skimmed some of the game and post-game threads where I was amazed by the environment of this place.  I thought there must have been some special greeting page that had Hova giving out huge hugs that absolutely melted the hearts of everyone posting last night.  I appreciate the objectivity and I think/hope  it will make a positive impact on the families that are considering iubb for 2015 and 2016.

Chris Reynolds has been mentioned multiple times during this thread and I thought I would add that when that came to drawing a charge in crucial situations that it would be difficult for anyone to do it better than he did.  His feet were always moving.  The dude had to go through some serious shoes.  We currently have room for improvement, but you know …  I think our guys are making big strides on the defensive end.   You can tell this group wants it bad.

Here’s to great growth in preparation for Sunday.

Here are some of my favorite selections from the Bloomington YikYak tonight. (YikYak is basically anonymous Twitter within a 2 mile radius for those that don't know)

"Nobody makes Yogi cry!F*** YOU MARYLAND."

"Petition to declare Yogi King of the Hoosiers"

"I'm drunk and crying because Yogi was crying"

"Maryland's yaks aren't even about basketball. F*** them they don't deserve to be in our conference"

"HEARTBREAK. Oh Yogi, we still love you.

    "J**** C***** yogi went so f****** hard"

"Yo in a parallel universe we won"

    "Poor Yogi : ((((("

    And possibly my favorite...

"I'M GONNA POOP A DIAMOND FROM THIS GAME"

Some of you dudes egos are too large for life. We have a great source of great info here with Troys mom and when stuff hit the fan yall couldn't just wait to attack and we lose her... rebel is a fantastic contributor to the board and always willing to listen to all sides of the story and yall get your panties in a not because he breaks paragraphs and now he is MIA. Now we have another close to the program source and people are just itching for him to show a shade of incorrect data to jump on him.

Make yourselves useful, in your own real life. I'm sure something could be done productive there instead of swinging your Internet man meat.

Ever since the PU loss, it seems the Crean haters have re-emerged with unsubstantiated "we'll never succeed with that man at the helm" posts in various forums. I consider this all to be total crap.

We are 6-3 in the Big Ten, and only one team has a better record, and that team got pre-season votes for #1 and has stayed in the top 10 all year. Yes, we're about to go to 6-4 and fall out of that second-place tie (barring a miracle in Cheeseland), but we have only three road games remaining in our last eight. Given Maryland's slump we might even be able to pull out all eight, but six seems realistic and a 12-6 B1G season with our only big man hurt through the toughest portion of it says "good coaching" to me.

The Ohio State loss looks a lot less painful given what OSU did to Maryland, too. In case no one noticed, Pitt knocked off Notre Dame this past weekend.

Of course, I'd like to see us in our elite Knight mold. But I'm old enough to remember the Lou Watson era, and what we have now is the best non-Knight coaching we've ever had. Even some of Knight's later years weren't so wonderful, but memories are short when it comes to his failures (as it should be given all his successes).

Do I like everything Crean does? Heck, no. But I like that he coaches outside the box, and I am highly impressed that we are 6-3 in the B1G after what we saw in November. So count me as one on his side until he proves to me he's going to take the program down. And I'm not seeing that at this stage.

    Love this...

"We have that stature and status. Having said that, the point is well taken. Our last national championship was in 1987. People today probably look at that like 1953 when I was a student at IU. For guys my age or younger, it feels like we were that good not that long ago. But the sad reality is that 2013 was our first outright Big Ten championship in 20 years. We had our first back-to-back Sweet 16s in 20 years. Not that Sweet 16s get the average IU fan's pulse racing. We kind of expect that. We want a Final Four, and if we get there, we want to win it. I get that. No one wants to hang a sixth national championship banner more than I do."
