  1. Article from DiPrimio; contains lots of quotes from CMW. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/2/mens-basketball-diprimio-forget-the-calendar-ius-basketball-season-begins-now.aspx
  2. Good enough for me as well. Chronic Hoosier @ChronicHoosier When it's all said & done just know that Indiana got the former NBA coach who wanted nothing more than to be the head basketball coach at Indiana. That's plenty good enough for me.
  3. Don't bother to read it; no mention of IU. https://stockrisers.com/s/358/top-50-junior-rodney-rice-visits-v-tech-talks-future-visit-plans
  4. If you liked the picture of Tamar and his family on campus, you'll really enjoy Tamar receiving his high school diploma. Tamar's grandfather also has a Twitter account and had multiple tweets about Tamar's graduation and becoming a Hoosier. In one of grandpa's tweets, he inadvertently referred to us as University of Indiana and the jerks that some of our fans can be called him out on it. Geesh! Some of our "fans" really need to get a life.
  5. Basketball Australia has named 19 athletes in the Australian Under-19 squad for a 2021 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup selection camp to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra from 25 – 28 June 2021. Price is one of the nineteen. https://australia.basketball/blog/2021/06/01/u19gemssquadannoucement/
  6. Jamie Shaw on the CP3 Memorial Day Classic and considered Ward the best defender of the weekend. - Ward proved to be a difference maker over the weekend. The 6-foot-5 wing was a presence on the defensive end, especially in the passing lanes. Ward played the point of the defensive looks using his length and his quickness to make it a struggle for the opposition. Ward has a top eight of Indiana, LSU, Georgia, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Miami, Maryland and Georgetown.
  7. Jamie Shaw on the CP3 Memorial Day Classic and considered Reed the biggest stock riser of the weekend. - Reed comes on the floor with a strong frame and long arms. This weekend he showed versatility on the offensive end of the floor. With range off the catch extending beyond the arc, he showed a go-to move over his left shoulder to go with pick and pop ability from 18-feet. Reed has strong arms and great touch and is a good area rebounder. He will visit Michigan State on June 1 and Purdue on June 7.
  8. The Bates family is exceptionally proud of Tamar and this tweet from his father captioned: Our new home.
  9. I've seen several other positive comments on Karaban's play this weekend. Likely the most efficient player I scouted this weekend. I saw him play in all 4 of his games for @ExpressionsBall & @AlexKaraban knows what he can do & doesn't try & do what he can't. Doesn't turn it over, take bad shots or commit silly fouls. DOES hit shots, D-up, pass & handle
  10. Jake Weingarten -- Top-50 junior Jalen Washington has locked in two official visits, his coach told @Stockrisers, they will go as the following: North Carolina June 2-4 Stanford June 12-13 Plans on visiting Indiana and Oklahoma as well.
  11. Snapshot of several '22 targets as well as '23 target Jeremy Fears. Also includes a schedule for all of the July shoe circuit events. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-notebook-as-critical-month-of-june-nears/?fbclid=IwAR0GDYTZw5QtyfD_qXkJDblx21OuqbLRFeAkhmYw1KbzQMgburYcCrU1QIc
  12. Comment on his weekend play. 2023 4-star Jeremy Fears (@jeremy_fears) has been outstanding for Brad Beal Elite. A true floor general who makes plays. His passing abilities are off the charts. Loves to push the break and always makes the right decision.
  13. B1G Honors -- First Team: Grant Richardson Second Team: McCade Brown and Gabe Bierman Third Team: Cole Barr All Freshman Team: Paul Toetz; Morgan Colopy and John Modugno Collin Hopkins was named Indiana's Sportsmanship Award honoree.
  14. Trent Markwith of Relentless Hoops - Everything comes easy to 2023 SG Joey Hart. He filled it up effortlessly in both games I watched today, averaging 18.5 PPG. Calm, mature wing who has a well-rounded game, good size, and just goes about his business. Gets up above the rim quickly. Hart started the day at UAA Midwest with 19 points & 9 rebounds, making 5 3’s in a Grand Park Premier win. Hunted his outside shot early and continued to throughout the game, did a good job rebounding in traffic too.
  15. Final day recap of east regional -- Indiana Track & Field wrapped up its time at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Saturday night. Khayla Dawson and Leah Moran highlighted the day as they will represent the Cream and Crimson in two events at National Championships. After securing a spot in the shot put, Dawson became the first thrower to qualify for nationals in both the shot put and discus since 1992. Dawson earned her spot in the discus with a heave of 54.08m (177' 5"). Moran qualified in the long jump on Thursday and returned for the triple jump on Saturday. During her third attempt, she soared a distance of 13.19m (43' 3.25") to secure the ninth qualifying spot. On the track, Kelsey Harris was the lone Hoosier to qualify as she had the second fastest quarterfinal time in the 1500m. Harris clocked a personal best 4:11.75. The eight student-athletes who earned qualifying spots will next represent Indiana at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Eugene, Ore. The Championships are slated for June 9-12 at the newly built Hayward Field.
  16. FWIW -- 1:30 clip of PG Jeremy Fears #2. To me, he looked short but 247 says he's 6' 1"
  17. Steve Alford and Nevada have extended a scholarship offer to Amire Robinson, Stu's son.
  18. Paul Biancardi @PaulBiancardi Justin Taylor is one to watch this summer. Catches the ball ready to shoot with terrific shot preparation & shot mechanics. Works to get open & does not hesitate when open. Feeds the post & finds the open man. Size. Shooter. IQ. Plays hard.
  19. Zion Cruz showed a lot of character leading PSA Cardinals to a comeback win over BABC. Struggled badly for the first 3 1/2 quarters, getting nothing to fall, but kept with it and scored the final 14 points on some tough iso drives and jumpers to finish the game. Scored 27 of his 28 pts. in the second half -- 17 in the 4th Q.
  20. Locked in 2 OV's: Michigan State on June 1 and PUke on June 7.
  21. Jamie Shaw of Rivals - Indiana: “They will be playing an NBA style. Head coach Mike Woodson told me that he is going to bring that style he had with the New York Knicks to Indiana, and I am really excited to see that when I go up there.” https://indiana.rivals.com/news/four-star-tyrell-ward-plans-to-wait-on-visits
  22. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Jalen Hooks has been invited to the Pangos All-American camp. Xavier Booker has also been invited and this is a big deal as it indicates just how highly these 2 are viewed in order to be invited. 26 NBA teams have already requested credentials for the June 6-8 event.
  23. This doesn't look at all like the girl I watched play multiple high school games this past winter. Smoother and more agile. Helps that she's probably also surrounded by higher quality teammates.
  24. Day 3 Recap Parker Raymond and Ben Veatch are headed to National Championships as Indiana Track & Field closes the book on the third day of competition at NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla. Raymond showed his tenacity in the 800m quarterfinal by punching an automatic bid to the national meet. For the second time this week, Raymond crossed in a personal best time of 1:48.07. To round out the day, Ben Veatch will be taking his second-consecutive trip to Eugene. In the 5000m, Veatch took the fourth automatic-qualifying spot in his heat with a season best time of 13:48.87. Indiana will wrap up the final day of the NCAA Preliminary Round on Saturday, May 29. The women will look to qualify for National Championships beginning with Mahogany Jenkins and Leah Moran in the triple jump seminal at 1:30 p.m.
