  1. Remember @btownqb I'm just the messenger. Zach Osterman - Despite the relaxation of COVID-related policies in Monroe County, including mask requirements and crowd-size limits, the remainder of IU Athletics' home events this academic year will stay closed to all but team family and support staff.
  2. Tweets from Tyler Tachman - Just spoke with Michael Durr. He says growing up in Atlanta, he watched Mike Woodson coach the Hawks. Now, he’ll be playing for Woodson. “He cares about what you’re going to do on and off of the court. He cares about what’s going to happen once you leave this university.” “The tradition there and the history. I just wanted to be a part of something like that.” -- Durr said Kenya Hunter and Yasir Rosemond were also key in his decision. Hunter was familiar with Durr’s game because he coached at UConn, which is in the same conference as USF. Durr knew Rosemond from when he coached at Georgia. “It was great just reconnecting.” Full Q and A with Durr -- https://www.insidethehall.com/2021/05/17/q-a-michael-durr-discusses-his-decision-to-commit-to-indiana/

  4. Tweeted by TJD very shortly after the Durr announcement.
  5. Stumbled across this analysis of incoming recruit Colson Montgomery. https://www.lookoutlanding.com/2021/5/17/22439025/2021-mlb-draft-scouting-report-colson-montgomery
  6. Presumably this finalizes our '21-'22 roster so the pressure's on CMW and staff to show us what they can do with this team.
  7. Re-posting this background on Durr. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/transfer-portal-names-to-know-usf-7-footer-michael-durr/
  8. Locked in 2 OV's. Marquette on June 2 and Michigan on June 13.
  9. https://purduesports.com/sports/2018/9/27/2018-19-governors-cupresults.aspx PUke didn't bother to update it after our men's golf team defeated the PUke team and guaranteed an IU win.
  10. His AAU team tweeted that Xavier Booker will schedule visit with IU tomorrow. Illinois early next week. Possible visits to LSU, Northwestern, and DePaul.
  11. Already did when the men's golf team defeated PUke by one stroke in the B1G Tournament. It's 9.0 to 5.5.
  12. Day 2 Report https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/5/15/track-and-field-day-two-of-b1g-championships-in-the-books-for-the-hoosiers.aspx?fbclid=IwAR2_fGpIX35FgVv0XZYfaM9ATO86lkLvGYvN6yK3Fmpax9gmxHCH8Isqlg8
  13. Illinois Hoops Prospects - Casey gave Meanstreets a much-needed scoring punch in the first half. He had a couple of athletic drives to the rim and knocked down a corner three. There were multiple occasions where his length affected shots in the paint and he was able to high point rebounds. In the second half he wasn’t able to get anything easy. It’s hard to quantify the different skills that he brings to the table, but Casey showed glimpses of his ability to do everything. Every Power-5 school knows about him at this point.
  14. Illinois Hoops Prospects - This wasn’t the best game I’ve seen from Washington. He struggled to get any rhythm and wasn’t the primary post-up option with size mismatches at other spots. Still, he flashed some of the skill that has schools like North Carolina offering him. Washington’s mobility and length stands out, using his strides to change ends and rotate over defensively. While he didn’t score too much, he finished around the rim and had a smooth one-dribble pull-up from the right wing. His footwork and touch are very advanced. Washington projects as a McDonald’s All-American candidate but he was frustrated at times tonight.
  15. Former Kentucky commit Nolan Hickman has officially signed with Gonzaga, per his father.
  16. Recruiting update from Eric Bossi - Indiana: “I got a great feel from Mike Woodson. As soon as he got the job, he called me, and I’ve been talking to him and coach Kenya Hunter. He has been telling me that he is ready to turn the program around and they want to get on a zoom with me to show me campus and everything.” https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Article/Top-30-junior-guard-Jalen-Hood-Schifino-is-looking-forward-to-a-big-summer-Georgetown-Indiana-Kansas-Pittsburgh-Tennessee-Wake-Forest-165427414/?fbclid=IwAR3fYts1chVTDgf3xOv6_NdP4w_-bC0PehLkaliD8glEVEmElf120OGDetc
  17. From Relentless Hoops - Julian Phillips had a steady performance tonight and came through late to lift Upward over Team Speights 69-63. The added consistency to his 3-point shot to go along with his high-level finishing ability is impressive. Versatile and active on defense too. Finished with 24 pts; 7 reb; 3 stls.

  19. Yes and he has his own thread dating back to 2016-2017. He suffered a compound fracture of his leg in a high school game so he really has a history of injuries.
  20. Damaged goods and missed a lot of playing time. December '20 story almost sounds like he'd worn out his welcome at UNC. https://247sports.com/college/north-carolina/Article/Sterling-Manley-Injury-return-status-UNC-basketball-Roy-Williams-157261273/
  21. Rob Cassidy - Bates is one to watch because of the massive strides he’s taken over the last year and how important he is to the rebuilding project going on at Indiana, the school with which he is signed. The four-star combo guard has decent length and has improved by leaps and bounds on the defensive end, where he never seems to take a possession off. Bates is left-handed but is able to finish with his right hand somewhat consistently. LSU commit Efton Reid was mentioned in several of the Bates posts and Cassidy had this to say about the Reid commitment. Reid was thought to be a Pittsburgh or Florida State lean for weeks before Will Wade stole his commitment at the 11th hour. Love Cassidy's choice of words.
  22. The university may choose not to follow suit but starting Monday, Monroe County will have no gathering limit or mask mandate. Masks may still be needed in some situations, including at businesses that choose to require them. https://www.hoosiertimes.com/herald_times_online/news/monroe-county-to-rescind-mask-gathering-limit-order/article_4fea04e6-b4e3-11eb-819c-ebbc775f8481.html
