  1. From the Marion Chronicle-Tribune: Vijay Blackmon to attend IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for a post-graduate season of basketball before enrolling in college.
  2. Anybody have any insight if it's from us? From their UA Indy Hoosiers AAU team earlier today: 2018 Hoosiers 6'6 G Damezi Anderson, 6'5 G/F Shamar Dillard and 6'2 PG Jamal Harris to land D1 offer tomorrow from in state School.

  4. http://espn.go.com/espn/dickvitale/story/_/id/16026187/five-potential-head-coaches Not 100% on topic but a Purdue Person Vitale ESPN nugget captioned These Coaches Deserve Another Opportunity. Our very own Tim Buckley is one of the 5 mentioned. The current Associate Head Coach at Indiana under Tom Crean, Buckley was the head coach at Ball State from 2000-06. Over the past five years, Buckley has helped Indiana to a 120-53 record and helped the Hoosiers win outright Big Ten titles in 2013 and 2016. He has been a major factor in recruiting. If he wanted to run his own program, I am sure he would do a great job.
  5. I'd say our strength training works pretty well! Hard to imagine many players are going to strip the ball away.
  6. You have to give the EYBL a lot of credit for the hype it continually puts out for the kids in its program. Durham is #3 in drawing fouls/game and he's a 75% shooter from the line; his teammate Collin Sexton is #1.
  7. Hey, they know we're a football school!
  8. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/15999633/recruits-impact-top-25-college-basketball-teams Article on the incoming recruit for the Top 25 programs that will have the greatest impact. 11. Curtis Jones, Indiana Hoosiers Jones, a versatile guard who comes in at No. 40 in the ESPN 100, will be a welcome addition to the Hoosier backcourt after the departure of Yogi Ferrell. Jones excels in transition and can make scoring plays for himself. Not only can he play on or off the ball, but he can defend both guard positions as well. -
  9. IMO that's a huge issue after 3 knee surgeries. And then this today: According to a report from CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, Indiana guard James Blackmon, Jr. is still not participating in full-contact drills. It's now 6 months into his recovery from the latest surgery so is this news to give us some concern?
  10. For the second time in three years, former Indiana All-American Cody Zeller has been named to the USA Basketball Select Team. http://www.insidethehall.com/2016/06/07/cody-zeller-named-to-2016-usa-basketball-select-team/
  11. My understanding as well and I think it's far from settled who will be our PG and we may not know for certain until B1G play starts. At the very least, props to Newkirk for having the confidence in his abilities to reply as he did.
  12. Very pleased to read that Quinn has been appointed to the IU Board of Trustees. IMO a well-deserved honor and someone who will be a very strong and positive voice. [But I can't resist the snide comment that I wonder if he had to get Bobby's OK before saying yes or does his acceptance of the position mean he will no longer receive any Christmas cards from RMK! And those snide comments are direct at Knight; not Quinn.]
  13. And CTC as Doc Brown. Bryan Medema, paging Bryan Medema! Your talents are requested.
  14. I can't locate the actual quote, but at the Huber event last evening CTC referenced that Morgan's shoulder had popped out around 15 times since he was a junior in high school so yes, hopefully the surgery has made the shoulder strong enough to take the pounding.
  15. He's no longer wearing any sling but hasn't yet been cleared to go full bore. Also, CTC told the Huber crowd last night that Hartman did not require surgery on his wrist only a cast.
  16. Glass, CTC along with Morgan, Bryant and Newkirk are at Huber Winery tonight addressing some of the IU faithful. This from Thomas Bryant: "If you think OG can jump, wait til you see this guy."
  17. Lunardi's June 1, Bracket - He has us as a 3 seed in the Midwest and overall he has 7 B1G teams in the tournament - FWIW http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology
  18. That was my understanding as well.
  19. 2016 AAU Season To Date. Because I've also been including Collin Sexton's stats, I'll post Sexton's 16 game averages first and then the details of Durham's season thus far. Sexton: 31.7 ppg on 46% shooting from the field; 33% on 3's; and 90% from the foul line. Also averaging 5 rebounds; 2 assists; 3 turnovers and 1 steal per game. Sexton gets to the line a lot as in 10 of his 16 games, he's been in double figures just from the free throw stripe. Durham's Stats. As I pointed out in my previous post, his shooting % leaves a lot to be desired. Date Pts. FGM FGA 3PM 3PA FTM FTA Reb Assts. TO's Stls. 21. Per John Rothstein: Malik Newman has asked for his release from Mississippi State and intends to transfer.
  22. Midwest schools showing interest in forward Damezi Anderson GARDEN GROVE, Calif. - Everyone knows Indiana is a hotbed for basketball, and a class of 2018 prospect in the state hopes to play his college basketball close to home. Small forward Damezi Anderson is a class of 2018 propsect from Riley High School in South Bend, Indiana, and he is turning heads at this weekend's Under Armour Association Session III camp in California. Anderson is hearing from several top programs in the area. "I don't have any offers, but I have interest from IU, Purdue, Michigan State and Xavier," Anderson told 247Sports Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer. "They tell me to just keep working hard, work more on my defense and keep doing what I'm doing." One think Anderson is doing is scoring. The 6-6, 190-pounder had 32 points in a game for his 16-u Indy Hoosiers, and he is sixth in scoring at the event - averaging 16. 4 points per game. "I haven't seen anyone this weekend score with the ease that Anderson has scored with," Meyer said. "He is going to be ranked as a four-star in the Top247 and he is going to get high major offers." Anderson has taken an unofficial visit to Michigan State. He told Meyer he just wants to play Division I basketball, but if he had his choice he would like to play in the Big Ten. Anderson hasn't been ranked to this point and doesn't have a rating in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
