2017 IUFB Recruiting
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to hoosierwhodey's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Alex McCarthy @akmccarthy: New #iufb QB coach visited a 2017 Tennessee pro-style passer today: http://bit.ly/2gJn6uG 3-star Dresser Winn '17 - Dresden HS, Dresden, TN 247 -
I'm afraid Yogi's first year of pro ball is going to be like a yo-yo. He had been recalled to the Nets but today was sent back to D-League. Ferrell was assigned to the D-League's Long Island Nets on Monday. Ferrell has been available for the Nets' last two games, but has logged just three combined minutes over those contests. Though Jeremy Lin (hamstring) remains sidelined, it appears the Nets are comfortable proceeding into Monday's game against the Wizards with Isaiah Whitehead, Randy Foye and Sean Kilpatrick as their primary options at point guard. Ferrell, meanwhile, should be in line for a huge workload with Long Island in their matchup Monday against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

2016-17 Basketball Schedule

IU basketball game against Nebraska on Dec. 28 has been moved to 6:30 pm to accommodate for the Foster Farms Bowl. -
Sean Miller told reporters that Arizona's Parker Jackson-Cartwright will miss about eight weeks with a high ankle sprain. 6-8 weeks isn't all that unusual for a severe high ankle sprain but fortunately it doesn't sound like OG's is anywhere near that bad.

Kevin Wilson Resigned
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I don't get the sense it was any one thing but an accumulation of issues that made Glass finally say enough is enough. In essence, by agreeing to accept the one-year salary and nothing more, Wilson "agreed" with Glass and it was a negotiated settlement. With the amount of money on the table per his contract, if Wilson felt he was in a position of strength, surely he wouldn't have resigned and forced Glass' hand. -
From the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel Everyone knew that the North Side boys would be good this year, but nobody knew how much they would change before their win over Indianapolis' Arsenal Tech on Saturday. Sophomore Keion Brooks Jr., who averaged over 18 points as a freshman despite often looking reserved and learning the pace of the game, showed a significant jump in his game for his sophomore debut. He made 8-of-9 second half shots and ended with a game high 32 points. But Brooks' biggest growth showed on the defensive end, recording many early steals and finishing with five blocks, including some emphatic ones that bounced the ball off of the backboard. "His aggressiveness is huge for us. The fact that he is attacking more, not settling and hitting the offensive glass is a large plus. If he does that consistently that's going to be a huge bonus," said North Side coach Shabaz Khaliq.

Just joining the fun; been at a Christmas Open House with my friend Jim Beam! Looks like game going pretty much as I expected but we haven't shot the 3 ball well (33%) and too many TO's (again). TB with 9 reb., but only taken 1 FG??????? Looks like pretty decent stats for RoJo and Morgan; Newkirk with 6 assists (good) but 3 TO's (bad). That pretty well sum it up? -
Jordan Howard - Miami Dolphins
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to jmsgws's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
At snowy Soldiers Field the Bears knock off the 49ers 26-6. Quite the day for Jordan with 32 carries, 117 yards and 3 TD's. No receptions; targeted once; recovered a fumble. His 3 TD's today give him 6 for the season. -
Tevin Coleman - New York Jets

Playing in the snow at Soldiers Field where the Bears and 49ers have combined for a total of 10 passes in the first half, Howard scores his 4th TD of the season with the half winding down and the Bears lead 7-6. In the first half he had 10 carries for 38 yds. and he recovered a fumble. -

Pretty classy tweet from Jabrill Peppers of UofM: "We take care of business, we're in. We don't, we're not..& we didn't. Can't knock the teams that did." -
Butler is my 2nd favorite school, but there is a misleading perception about its recruiting. Since the 2 Final 4 years, Butler's recruiting has been less Indiana dominated and its current roster only has 4 kids from Indiana. And of its 4 recruits for '17, only 1 is from Indiana. Not picking on you Bellj, but people remember the back-to-back Final 4's which were heavily populated with Indiana players, but since then its recruiting efforts have moved more nationwide.

My daughter's father-in-law, a widower, is dating a woman from Greencastle. When I was introduced to her I asked her if she knew the Neese family and Cooper's basketball exploits. Her eyes glazed over; she had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I pulled John off to the side and told him to dump her as quickly as he could. LOL
