  1. Article didn't elaborate but I took it that it was a school/coach rule as a way of cracking down on on-court antics. Our local high school coach has a similar rule but not for a full half.
  2. An 11/28/16 snippet from the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel Rod Wilmont's foray into being a head coach at the high school level has started successfully with a star player in senior Keegan Fetters at Lakewood Park Christian (Fort Wayne). The former Indiana Hoosier is now 2-0 in his coaching career with wins over Hamilton and Fremont.
  3. North Central vs New Albany to be televised on Fox Sports Midwest.
  4. Just can't stay out of trouble. "...charged with three felonies involving an alleged incident at an apartment in the 8100 block of Century Circle West on the city's north side: robbery/taking property by force or threatening the use of force while armed, criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon, and burglary." http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2016/12/10/former-iu-football-player-antonio-allen-arrested-marion-county/95256628/
  5. CORRECTION to my earlier post. IU game will be on the basic BTN channel - freebie.
  6. Horizon Christian 101, Hudsonville 61: Sophomore Sydney Curry had 26 points and 17 rebounds for the Jaguars in a game played at Spiece Fieldhouse. Through 7 games he's averaging 25.7/game; 15 reb and 4 assists. Not sure of the overall quality of the competition he's facing as most of their opponents are private schools. They were beaten by LaLumiere 99-55 in November but Curry had 20 pts. and 16 reb. in that game.
  7. North Side 86, South Side 70: Keion Brooks Jr. played just in the second half, but scored a team high 17 points at the Legends topped rival South Side. Brooks Jr., was assessed a technical foul in a win last Saturday against Indianapolis Cathedral and had to miss the opening half of Friday’s game.
  8. Tipoff scheduled for 4:00 ET Houston Baptist is one of the fastest playing teams in the country averaging just 16 seconds per possession but it doesn't help their defense as opponents have an effective field goal rate of 60% making HB one of the poorest in that category. This game should be over early with lots of minutes for the bench. Background Game Notes Stats - Live Audio BTN2Go ($)
  9. Kokomo Tribune also reported he had 4 steals.
  10. NEW YORK — The pick-and-roll has morphed into the NBA's most popular play during recent years. Offensive attacks, such as the one belonging to the Charlotte Hornets—who run pick-and-rolls more frequently than 25 of the league's 30 teams—are built around it. Defensive schemes are predicated on being able to stop it. The play has catapulted a number of guards, like Charlotte's Kemba Walker, into stardom. Walker could credit his favorite pick-and-roll partner Cody Zeller for a few of his career-high 23.8 points per game, and he does, but that'll have to wait: "He sets illegal ones," Walker told Bleacher Report, with a laugh. "But I love it when guards get hit. It happens to me all the time, getting hit by other bigs. It's fun to see other guards deal with the same thing." Zeller is averaging five screen assists per game, the third best mark in the NBA this season. He's doing so despite averaging just 25 minutes, 10 less than Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat, whose 6.4 screen assists per game lead the league. Screen assists take into account all versions of picks, but it's Zeller's potency as the big man in the pick-and-roll that has salvaged his career and transformed him into one the NBA's most valuable role players. The statistic, which the NBA made public last postseason for the first time, tracks the number of baskets in a game created by a pick. There are a number of tricks to the craft, Zeller said, but the one he most enjoys is standing strong and absorbing the contact. "Most big guys want to get to the rim really quick and slip out," Zeller says. "What I'll do is hold it a little longer and try to get away with as much as I can without being called for it. "The guards (on other teams) don't like that."
  11. MISHAWAKA -- It was getting late in the game at Mishawaka, and the Cavemen were not going away, when Riley’s junior star, Damezi Anderson reassured his coach. “You can trust me,” Anderson said to Riley’s Mark Johnson. Anderson then scored 12 of his game-high 30 points in the fourth quarter, and the 11th-ranked Wildcats held off Mishawaka, 70-61 at the Cave. He added 7 rebounds for good measure.
  12. Phinisee with 22 in McCutcheon's 77-53 win over Kokomo.

  15. New Albany shellshocked Floyd Central with a 26-7 first-quarter lead, and cruised to a 65-42 victory on Friday night. Langford with 25 pts. and 7 rebounds. He had 19 of his 25 in the 1st Q,
  16. The games I've seen him play, he is a facilitator for his teammates in the 1st half and then becomes a scorer in the 2nd. Did you happen to notice if that seemed to be the case tonight?
  17. Hopefully we'll be able to get his individual game stats and get a feel for how dominant he is as a HS senior. Countin' on you CCG!!
  18. Is this kid worth a roster spot at IU. He'd have to sit out a year but would be eligible in Jan. 2018 I believe. St. John’s sophomore Yankuba Sima will transfer from St. John’s. The 6-foot-11 center has been granted his release from the men’s basketball program and has received permission to speak with other NCAA Division I programs. “I want to thank the coaching staff and the administration for all of their support since I arrived at St. John’s,” said Sima. “I enjoyed my experience at St. John’s, but right now I feel it is best for me to explore options that will be a better fit for me as I work toward my goals.” “We wish Yankuba the best of luck,” said head coach Chris Mullin. “I know this wasn’t an easy decision for him, but we respect and understand it. He’s a good basketball player and a good person with a bright future ahead.” Sima chose St. John’s in April 2015 over Louisville and others. Sima started 18 of 24 appearances as a freshman last season, averaging 7.6 points and a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game. The Girona, Spain native ranked second in the Big Esat with 2.5 blocks per contest and his 60 rejections were the ninth-most for a single season in program history. Starting eight of 10 games this season, Sima has a 6.0 scoring average, shooting 44.7 percent (21-47 FG) from the field and 72.0 percent (18-25 FT) at the line to go with 3.5 rebounds per game. Sima set season-highs with 12 points and seven rebounds versus Michigan State on Nov. 23 at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
  19. From what we see nationwide, not a whole lot. I once commented that it was the kiss of death to be a kid's first commit because it seemed like they invariably change their minds.
  20. That was a classic response. I tip my hat in your honor.
  21. Aloha, you need to buy a lottery ticket; St. Mary's got beat last night by UT Arlington.
