While I'm somewhat impressed Adam stood up for his stance on the matter, I find it completely idiotic for a 23/24 year old who is fresh to the coaching side of the business to not do what he's told. When you're at that age in the business, you do what you're told, period. He just got a decent title this year and he probably made around 40-45K or so. At this point, you work your way up, not put yourself in a position to be let go at a P4 program. Getting fired during the season is not a good look. As for Woodson, we all know he's petty from an outsiders perspective, it's not too shocking. At least this is a football school now.

So damn proud of this team. I knew we would be over 5.5 wins. But 10 wins and #5 in the country? I'm ready to make this a football school, no longer basketball school!

Seeing the posts on Twitter about the 1st half, sounds like classic Indiana Men’s basketball under Mike Woodson. Good for them for turning it around, but we’ve seen the disappointing start vs mid majors for several years now.

Agreed. Especially him being so young in his career in basketball. You do what you're told at that age, you don't talk back or air your grievances. Last thing you want is to be let go at a P4 program with a title DURING the season. Not a great look on either end.

If true, Woodson is extremely petty, which I suppose isn’t too shocking considering what we saw with the Dane Fife situation. But Howard is extremely young, he shouldn’t really be challenging a head coach during his first “big boy” job on the college level. Being let go isn’t an ideal highlight on a coaching resume a week into the season.

Dane is a *******, but respected, and a hell of a coach. Woodson and Dane personalities for sure don’t match together, which explains that. Adam is likely a yes man, he’s young, I don’t see him back talking Woodson, let alone challenging Woodson to the point of being fired.

That usually takes a while to be reported publicly, but instantly with a compliance office. I doubt it’s something NCAA wise though.

If I had to make random guesses without knowing the situation, I would maybe wonder if it’s a DUI, or something involving law enforcement, inappropriate relationship with a student. Ive heard a lot of crazy **** in the coaching circles with coaches still not being fired. But maybe Woody has a short temper and Adam actually didn’t do anything serious? Maybe we will find out one day. Not a great look for Indiana basketball considering you don’t fire someone during the season typically.

The timing of this firing means the situation is serious. A suspension would make sense for a simpler infraction such as a recruiting violation. I’ve never met the kid, but he is a hustler for networking in the coaching circles from my observation.

Don't forget about Loaded Chicken, he's on the committee board of this train as well.

As leader of the Fire Woodson train, there's no excuse for this team not to make it to the second weekend in the tournament (Sweet 16). Assuming there's no major injuries, this team has the talent for the Sweet 16. If no Sweet 16, he needs to be let go.

My thoughts from the exhibition. - Rice is good. Extremely quick, elite ball handling through traffic and extremely gifted at getting downhill. I think he could be a good passer as well. Question is, can he shoot? We’ll see. - Malik and Ballo together may work, especially if they continue the high low offense. - Defensively, looked alright. We let them drive middle a few times which seems like a non Woodson principle. - Can Indiana shoot? That will be the final factor of success IMO. Tonight didn’t look good at all. Finally, it’s October. These games are damn near irrelevant considering neither team is ready for the season at this point. I’d like to see Trey start over Kaanan. Curious to see how Tucker looks. Will fans ever get to see Newton?

1st Half: Rice is fast, looks like he could be a valuable floor general. I’m curious to see if he‘s turnover prone with his pace / decision making. Looks okay so far. Mack appears to be an inch or two taller. Lots of high low actions between Malik and Ballo. Got a couple good looks out of it. At least they are not clogging the paint together. 0-11 from 3 is concerning. Of course it’s an exhibition but still concerning given the history of Indiana not being able to shoot under Woodson. lastly, it’s October. This basketball is and will always be ugly basketball.

Indiana is really hammering the high-low action between Malik and Ballo. I think it’s a good idea if you’re going to play those two guys. Eventually, the guards will need to be able to hit a 3 however for the high low to be effective long-term.

The turnovers are a bit concerning.. some of them are just mindless/unforced.

Anthony Leal minutes because Trey and Tucker are out. I don’t see minutes for him in the rotation.

I’m not going to take anything away from this game, it’s October, neither team is no where near their capacity. Rice is fast, Mack is taller, Ballo is Big. Thats about it so far.

Mack looks noticeably taller. That will help with the small ball when Malik goes to the 5 when Ballo sits.

I want to see him shoot the basketball before claiming that fact.
