Yeah my senior year was the season we went to state with Balentine, Sebree, and a freshman Persons. That was a great team. Unfortunately since I graduated they've been pretty average which is unusual.

He's just never panned out and it doesn't look like he's going to get any chance in Chicago. I believe he's a FA this offseason, maybe he goes somewhere like Sac-town or Phoenix and actually gets some run.

I've been to 2; one was the Boston game that he missed (and it wasn't announced until just an hour before tip-off) and the second was the OKC game where he shot 9-26 and we lost. So yeah I'm in the same boat as you.

This backcourt is utterly terrible. Rojo and Newkirk are the most pitiful excuses for senior guards I've ever seen, Green is like Bad Troy without Good Troy, and Durham just isn't ready to play any meaningful minutes. Think about it though, what does this say about what Archie thought of Cujo considering he didn't get any pt before he left? The fact of the matter is this; we had little depth to start the season and have lost 2 scholly players (1 to transfer and 1 to injury). Our backcourt is full of turnover prone players who can't shoot, we lost the only real big man in our rotation, and another one of our players can't stay healthy (Hurtman). The fact that this team has a winning record is a great testament to the coaching job Archie has done. At least this team generally plays good defense. That's something we haven't been able to say in a long time.

Not too get too far off topic for the thread, but the Blackmon boys weren't taught any man-to-man defense at the high school level either by pops. It was all about scoring a lot and pressing lesser skilled/athletic teams on defense to create turnovers. It's why James struggled so much when he got to college and was asked to guard one-on-one.

Purdue wants to lock it down too, so you can't expect them to go away. Painter doesn't seem to land too many highly ranked (5 star) recruits though.

I'm not a fan of Mularkey, but with the late timing on this they could have screwed themselves. I don't think Vrabel is ready yet. Plus it sounds like their reasoning was because he wouldn't fire one of his assistants.
