Yeah, true. A university with great tradition ruined by administration is a better analogy
-
It seems like it’s a university that has a great past thanks to one coach and now is a university that expects the same results when they probably are no better than an average B1G team at best.

Look at me, not that tv, ME! Trust me, it’s better for us both.

Just attempting a long grab at positivity towards the future at the moment. A man can dream can’t he? But he did have 3 NBA players and the great Jay Bilas his third year and went 11-17 (and yes I looked all that up, I never knew that). Like I said, no comparison, just trying to grab strings here and stay positive.

I agree, 3 year minimum. I say we have to wait until Archie gets his players and gets rid of FCTC players and get his type of players to run his type of offense. If Hunter and Race were playing this year, I’m sure it would help. Having some depth would be nice too. **Not comparing one bit, but just random fact that shocked me** Mike Krzyzewski was 38-47 his first three years and duke and he turned out pretty okay. Indiana vs Nebraska 1/14/19 6:30pm FS1

Just a random though. From the “offense” that Archie wants to run, it seems to me it would require shooters to hit buckets and space the floor to open up for drives. Without shooter, those gaps don’t open. We don’t have anyone who can driver besides Romeo and maybe Rob. We have zero shooters who can shoot consistently. Most of the players playing are still Crean players. I’m not happy about this performance since Archie has shown up, but until he gets a full class (healthy class) I’m not losing faith in him. Hard to watch yes, frustrating yes, below expectations for sure but I’m not losing hope. Especially not this soon. If we have Rob, Keion, TJD, Hunter, Race, Clifton, Forrester, Al, Smith, Damezi and other players and we still don’t win, then I’ll start wondering if Archie was right or not. I completely agree. Let’s give it a chance to play out and see what happens. We may not use it now or ever, but would always be nice to know how it works in case of a situation where we do need/want the change or improvement. Nothing is ever perfect and there is always room for improvement, and who knows, this could be it. At least want to give it a platform to be able to judge it fairly.

I’m a firm believer in the old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. And I don’t think CBB is broke. Now I’m saying that, I like giving everything an opportunity/test run or at least try see it from both sides. If they want to try this out, try it out in 1) a couple exhibition/preseason games perhaps. Or 2) do a test run in the NIT like they did with the 4 quarters thing. That way everyone gets a chance to see it and be able to judge for themselves, along with it not impacting anything too too important. But I say leave it as is because, well, it’s fine the way it is.

Plus, this is a kid who never showed emotion no matter what was going, but once he put that IU hat on, you couldn’t wipe that smile off his face. -

Could Durham or Moore switch numbers to let him have one of his his. I know in like the NFL and NBA, players have given up their numbers so other players could keep theirs if they come to a new team. Not saying they should or would or if Romeo would even ask, but is that stuff allowed in NCAA. -

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but does anyone know if ESPN or ESPNU is having it live on TV or if there will be a stream or anything? -

Tom Crean to be next Georgia coach / 6 year 3.2 Million annually

You know that one gif where he just has that shocked look on his face (im sure you know exactly which one). I am not sure as to what my face looked like while he was talking about it, but i think its a safe bet to say i looked exactly like that. -

https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/georgia-football/what-to-know-about-tom-crean-georgia-2018/ Quote from the article "Watching Crean’s development as an analyst the last year, I did believe he was the smartest guy in the room. *He can break down a team and an in-game situation like few I’ve seen*. ESPN certainly was sad to see him go." Not trying to be a jerk, but i hope they are talking about a highlight and not in-game coaching there. -
Very valid point. I mean it can go both ways. I wasnt trying to say that i would ALWAYS take the freshman against a veteran. But i do like you examples and it totally shows that it can be a toss up at times and with some players, the veteran could be a better option from time to time or at least be a toss up.
-
I agree with you. For instance, lets compare romeo to "veteran transfers" of years before (not saying these transfers are as good as taylor, but just for theory of debate) Romeo > Newkirk (veteran) Romeo > Zeisloft (loved him, but still) Romeo > McSwain Experience is very valuable, but sometimes talent like romeo is worth way more than 2 years at a DII school or a school that plays in a weak conference.
-
I'd take option A. I feel RP will be great at getting Romeo the ball. And when teams try to double Romeo, then RP is well enough to score himself, along with the deadly combo and Juwan and Romeo could cause with P&R's...I can picture Juwan setting a screen, the defense staying with Romeo who then passes to the open Juwan, defense collapses on Juwan by the basket and he lays it off to a cutting Justin Smith for a big slam. Or romeo just pops a three and bang haha
