  1. There are a lot of positives to take from this game. The loss sucks, but outside of one stretch, we played close. Turnovers were way down. Morgan had a poor (for him) game, and tons of injuries. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. His length clearly bothered Simpson's shot. Nice to have that on the floor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Looking good to start the half, but another awful Morgan foul... [emoji1750]‍[emoji3603] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Michigan moves the ball so well on offense. They'd be fun to watch if it wasn't destroying IU Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Morgan looks awful so far. Really weird to see him like this. This would be much closer if he was just having a decent game Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I just turned it on about 5 minutes ago. I think I've already seen 5 missed layups Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I was thinking the same thing. Everything I read on him was that he was really well rounded, but needed to develop his jumper. He looks very confident either off the dribble or pass shooting with real range. We're not seeing the misses in the highlight videos obviously, so I don't know what his efficiency is, but the shot looks legit. I'm a lot more excited about him after seeing video than I was when he committed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It's going to be interesting to see how this affects his draft position. Hard to take a 2 that high who can't shoot, even though he does everything else very well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I actually really like the Green-Phinisee backcourt. Green makes mistakes, but he's a playmaker on a team that doesn't have enough of them. Al has been better than I expected this year, but he's still not a guy to pressure the defense. I think Green will be fine once he knocks off the rust. I think he's pressing a bit now too since Rob took his job and his role is unclear. I think he's the wildcard on this team because he's the one guy that I think can take his game to a level above what he's shown so far. Hopefully he does Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. His offensive game outside of 8 feet needs a lot of work. He would be unstoppable with a consistent jumper Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Unfortunately no, and there’s no plan to fix it with next year’s class. We can’t score with good teams if we can’t make anything outside the lane Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Smith has been extremely disappointing, but with Thompson and Hunter out, McRoberts just coming back, and Davis still unable to play big minutes, I don't know what the other options are. Moore looked decent the other night, but he's also still clearly got a long way to go, especially with understanding defensive rotations. Once we get guys back and Archie has more options, I don't think he'll stick with Smith as long as he's been doing. IMO, the biggest concern should be the shooting, especially from the guards. Unfortunately, the guards are not a threat from distance, and it really impacts the offensive ceiling. Teams don't need to fight through screens at the 3 point line because our primary ball handlers (Romeo, Rob, and Devonte) aren't really threats to pull, which then impacts spacing. Romeo hasn't been shy, but he's shooting 25% from distance. I doubt he'll come back for another season, and he's really incredible as a slasher and inside 8 feet, but he's not going to be an effective NBA 2 guard until he becomes a more consistent shooter. IMO he lets the ball get just a bit too far back in his release. The guards have been generally very good in other areas, but my concern is that we need shooters as we play the top teams. Archie is obviously pulling in great recruits, but assuming Brooks commits, that'll be 9 recruits signed by Archie, and only one, Damezi, is really a knock down shooter. By all accounts Franklin is going to be a good 4 year player, but the skill he's weakest on is shooting. It's becoming more and more clear every year that teams need to shoot the 3 effectively, and it would be good to see Archie prioritize it.
  13. I agree. Villanova seems to be an example of a program that has won within the rules. It's definitely harder, but they seem to be the outlier.
  14. I think he's just referencing the guys at the McD AA game. There are multiple Vandy and KU commits there, but no IU recruits, so obviously it's just guys from those 2 school who are going at him, which was to be expected. I don't think there's anything concerning in that statement.
  15. I don't think Moore is an indictment on Crean. NBAdraftexpress had him as a projected 1st rounder for next year, and there was a lot of buzz around him that wasn't reflected in the national ranking. Hopefully he stays and realizes his potential.
  16. Sucks to see him go down. Hopefully he spends all his down time working on free throws
  17. If that's the case it would be disappointing since we've gotten our hopes up over the last week. But there's not much you can do when the player is heavily weighing factors beyond basketball. It sounds like if he lived in Knoxville instead of Nashville that he would probably be locked up, although we still seem to have a decent shot anyway. For us to get into the top 2 over Duke, Kentucky, etc. is good. The fact that he was apparently sold on us from a basketball standpoint is great. But everybody has different priorities, and if being close to home for another year or 2 is really important to him, there's not much Archie can do about that.
  18. Having lived in Louisville for the past 3 years, I would have to agree. The basketball team is good, but the fans are crazy. Football is even worse though. At the start of every football season, the local radio shows talk about how Louisville has a decent shot at making the CFP. The entire fan base is delusional...
  19. And now the rest of my work day is going to be wasted reading about Kansas basketball scandals... :) Thanks for passing it along
  20. I've seen a lot of this on here, and it's impossible not to be suspicious with the investigation that is sure to affect more schools, but what specifically sticks out about Self and Kansas to make them dirtier than other programs?
  21. It's certainly possible that we get neither, but this is nothing like Billy Donovan. The coaching rumors were being fueled by supposed inside sources, but no legitimate sources were reporting Billy Donovan to IU - in fact they were all saying the opposite. In this case, there are many legitimate reasons to believe that at least one of these guys is going to come to IU.
  22. There were rumors when CAM was hired that Kostas Antetekounmpo would potentially follow him here? I know we're already in a bind on scholarships, but has anybody heard anything about that in the last month? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I'd like to see the rule where guys can go out of HS, but if they go to college, they have to stay 2-3 years. I'm torn on the idea of getting a bunch of one and dones. I live in Louisville, and the UK fans obviously don't have a problem with the cycle that Cal has going at UK. But as a fan, I think I would prefer to have more guys that stick around 3-4 years. Part of what made last year's run so fun was that we had watched Yogi for so long and felt more of a connection to the team than we would have if it was a bunch of freshman that we knew were about to leave.
