  1. That's such an underrated movie. I'm not sure I've heard this used as a phrase before, but couldn't help but think of the movie. Know this is severely off topic, but just needed to be said.
  2. What a soft a** foul call. There's some of those handoffs that are moving screens, but that wasn't one of them
  3. What a roller coaster ride. Race broke his face and could be out for a period of time to he’s fine, to now he’s warming up but with a mask. I’m exhausted
  4. He could have at least left the site name for an uptick in membership here. He's got plenty of replies telling him how wonderful he is and to ignore the hate and dumpers. Lots of pumpers populating his fanbase I can see. I don't know Sam Story nor have I spoke bad about him, maybe he'll buy me a drink, though I suspect that was a hollow offer
  5. Not discussing injuries seems to be common place in college bball. Don't think hipaa laws are the reason and more likely a strategy to prevent opponents from preparing one way or the other. Don't necessarily have a strong opinion on it, but just an observation.
  6. Thanks! Safety first I guess, but seems a bit overboard to me. Not sure there's much difference between a tip off and in your face defense for 32 minutes. Not sure what rule I hate more - this one or the runner on 2nd to begin the 10th inning. I'll go with the 10th inning rule as I don't watch much Illinois high school basketball beyond that video above.
  7. Can someone explain how this rule works with no tip-offs in Illinois shown in that video above? How do they determine who gets the inbounds to start the game? Is it coin-flip or always the away team?
  8. Multiple players injured their face, or multiple injuries to a single player's face? What kinda practices are we having in Bloomington? Cripes
  9. I won't be contributing to the buyout funding. But I consider myself a pro in "how to spend other people's money". I've been doing it with Jerry Reinsdorf's checkbook for years now. Oops - wrong chat. Party on Wayne
  10. Your facts are getting in my way. Back in the Stevens camp then, and beyond that I'm at a complete loss. Being a IU fan is starting to become depressing.
  11. Why does 3 million sound doable regardless of the revenue issues with the athletic program? If Stevens is truly a pipe dream, which I have no reason to believe it's anything but that, Beard would be quite an attractive option. His Knight relationship might become problematic for him, but we're nearly 20 years since he coached here. If not Stevens, throw me into the Beard camp.
  12. More a question for you - but looking at Alexander's coaching record it's not very lengthy and his years at Libscomb, which has been his longest stay, don't blow you away outside of his last year. He's winning at Belmont largely with players recruited by his predecessor, without looking at the roster. His Belmont record is outstanding, but not to diminish the OVC, but it's a step or two below the A-10 where IU snagged Archie from. I'm waving the white flag and saying there needs a change, but any qualms about Alexander's success translating to the Big10? It's not a perfect science by any means, but when I looked at his Wiki page I wasn't left with the thought "we need this guy". I can be convinced otherwise pretty easily the more I watch these slogs from IU, but just curious your take on Alexander specifically.
  13. I'm biased, admittedly when it comes to discussing Recker, but if people think Alford "stole" Recker they need a dose of reality. Recker transferred to Arizona and only after his tragic car wreck did he transfer to Iowa, more so to be closer to home. I'd never heard of that before, so I'll take your word for it, but it's not centered in any reality.
  14. I'm not a listener, but if you or someone could report back on what's discussed in regards to it, I'd be interested in hearing. You're probably right it's much to do about nothing and likely wouldn't have bothered me so much if I didn't spend 20 minutes chasing my 2 year old boxer around the neighborhood tonight after slipping his collar, but DD's critical comments about IU and IU bball specifically has bothered me for quite some time.
  15. That's fair, but does he really need to take it to his radio show to put a 17 year old kid on blast further? Kid was just defending his brother for whatever perceived slight there was (admittedly I missed the comment about TJD getting his). He's the adult here and has a platform that Tayven doesn't have, so whatever he says on Monday to his listeners, Davis won't be given a chance to respond. Really hope a weekend will allow cooler heads to prevail, but knowing Dakich's history, I seriously doubt that happens.
  16. A high school kid who’s a pretty decent football player from reports. If he decides to take his talents elsewhere this will likely be a reason why. And Dan Dakich had the gall to say IU fans eat their own. Anything to sell listens I guess. IU’s Skip Bayless with a more athletic track record. Shock jocking at its finest. Totally grossed out by this whole ordeal - I hope I’m not the only one who feels that way
  17. WAC or not, Gonzaga has been legit for the last 5 years or so. Certainly wouldn't be undefeated in the Big10, but they'd be top 4 at the very least. Change my mind?
  18. I’d love to hear from someone more in tune, not sure if that’s you or not, with the inner workings of the campus and program if the Covid restrictions have limited the time available to players in Cook Hall? Not an excuse for the poor shooting, as it’s been a 4 year problem, but I’d be interested to hear if this year has been different in getting that extra work in especially as each air ball is thrown up on gamedays
  19. While I like the optimism and agree, the speed of the game doesn’t cause someone to shoot it 24 feet when they standing 22 feet from the basket. Not sure if it’s the weight program or speed of the game but the inability to find even the rim on shots from Lander is both alarming and puzzling. I do like the speed at which he plays at as opposed to the alternative at point guard so I don’t consider myself a “Lander hater” as you put it but his shot needs a complete overhaul this summer, all the way from his shoulder and feet alignment to the effort or strength he’s putting into his shots
  20. Isn't Dakich the one who says IU loves to eat their own? Pot meet kettle, Monday's radio show should be full of toxicity. Buckle up
  21. I do recall Leal getting a corner 3 look, but I honestly can't recall the last time I've seen him being forced to guard out on the perimeter. He keeps finding matchups down low. I said before, he does a good job of battling down there, but not sure him guarding Henry or Watts would be that great of a matchup for him. Archie has parts, but not convinced those parts fit together in an optimal way. Freshman are very much still figuring things out and who they back up are wholly inconsistent especially at guard. His hands are more or less tied and with his seat growing hotter with each loss he can't really afford to play for the future especially with us still on the bubble. Just the way I see it which probably sounds like I'm defending Archie, but he's paid pretty handsomely to acquire those players and make sure they are put in place to succeed. Buck stops with him
  22. Can’t defend those first two and totally agree they shouldn’t be given as much time when playing like that but Leal turned the ball over immediately when he was in and almost turned it over a second time on the following possession. Had to wipe his hands off on his jersey after the second near oopsy. I’ve stopped trying to understand the method to the madness of our sub patterns but I assume that played a part
