  1. Assumed it was just a typo, but a bit of name drop lol. My mother jumped on that name in March for a son she was going to have that May. Yours truly lol
  2. Kreigh without the T
  3. Are you thinking of the record deal UA signed with UCLA in 2016 for $280 million? Oregon has always been a Nike school.
  4. Nor I. They were still Hoosiers though and felt like speaking up to say their characters shouldn't be continually questioned. Justin Smith at the least was an excellent student and that had to reflect well on the university. Considering some of the academic records of some of Crean's players, that was a welcome change I think most would agree.
  5. Wasn't Keion Brooks Sr combative with IU fans/IU's play on social media during his son's recruitment and subsequent commitment to Kentucky? It's been a few nights I've slept since that and could easily be mistaken. I'd happily take him at IU if he can help, that's not my point, what I'm driving at a is a player can have a desire to get to the league and still have a solid head on their shoulders (read character). I, personally, don't believe those two things are mutually exclusive. Just my take. And I think we'd all agree that Romeo's character was unquestionable (perhaps not Rob Phinisee if I'm to believe some of the rumors there, but that's a conversation for another thread). May have woken up on the wrong side of the bed and coming in to hot, just been stewing on this thought for a while.
  6. Justin Smith and Devonte Green are a year removed from the program and still getting dragged through the mud on this board and quite frankly weren't treated very well when they were a part of the program. I don't know either personally and doesn't "seem like" many know them here either. I can't count how many times I've read here that we'd be better off this year without them and seeing some of the results, I'm not sure how accurate that is - we did win 20 games after all with those 2. Lots of talk also about how poor the characters are of the players from the NBA factories of Kentucky, Duke and UNC, yet folks would gladly take Keion Brooks in a transfer scenario to IU. Just confusing to say the least. Rant over, go IU. Beat Minny - I just get a bit squirmy when people's characters are questioned without any concrete evidence to back it up or a personal relationship with the person/player. Realize I might be taking on a mod or powers that be here, but don't really care. Players that never put on an IU uniform are getting treated better than some that did. I'll criticize a player for his play, but I don't like to get into questioning their character. Different strokes for different folks, perhaps. Feel free to remove mods, just my take on some of the stuff I read.
  7. I honestly didn't notice that last night and that is indeed a really neat touch. I just couldn't get over the corners of the court where the fir design is more of a dark gray. I just kept thinking that they needed to the turn the lights up as the it seemed really dark at the edges. I know that was the "in" thing a few years ago when they introduced this court, but I, personally, have no issues with the state outline and IU logo in the center of the court.
  8. Each time I hear about a refresh to the court design I think to the Oregon basketball court with those silhouette trees (Stanford v Oregon women was on ESPN last night) and I'm ever thankful that "Hoosiers" is such an obscure term. Hate to think of some of the sheer crap that could come from a design of that ilk.
  9. Owned a pair of red and white Jordan XVII's when I was in middle school. That was some fine packaging - came in a suitcase type box. Like Apple, they really do a good job of branding their products. Would love to see IU go that route. Part of its IU bball and their reliance on history, but our uniforms just seem stale to me. Certain parts of the fan base would hate it, but even some red horizontal bars down the side of the uniform tops and bottoms would at least add some flare. I believe someone had this type of design pictured a while back
  10. Get that Jumpman logo. Merch prices would probably jump but some of the Michigan gear looks pretty slick with the Jordan logo on it, in my opinion. That'd be my personal preference, not that it matters. Puma sponsor any D1 teams as of yet? I know they have a couple NBA players under deals, but haven't seen much in the ways of college gear
  11. Are these 15 NBA players part of our coaching candidates? If not, perhaps we could get back on topic? LeBron ready to hang ‘em up and coach IU?
  12. Would love to be a fly on the wall in those draft interviews when he's asked why he quit on his team. Talent wins in the NBA, but that's not a good look.
  13. I'm not pretending to think Stevens will come here, but if the Celtics were to indeed move on from Stevens (I don't pay attention to the NBA or it's rumors, which is all I was intending to respond to) then I'd prefer not to move onto a coach in the first year of his tenure in the offseason Stevens became available, whether that's this offseason or next. Programs can't operate that way, obviously, but the Stevens fantasy is a nice thought to go down during some of these absolute slogs that I've been seeing on the court lately. I'd like to think I'm a bit more grounded in my thinking when it comes to IU. Just these past few games have had me ready to move on. Just felt compelled to respond as I don't want to be in fantasy land, even if I'd prefer it opposed to the reality that was IU basketball against NW and OSU this past week as that was ugly.
  14. Don't make a move on Archie and wait out Stevens. I could get down with that if it even had 10% of coming to fruition, lol. I hate to be so jaded, but these past two games have been brutal even if IU is 1-1. I'm not convinced last year's team wasn't better.
  15. How much of them being considered the first 4 out for Lunardi is their best player going down? In terms of body of work being 20-2 is pretty damn good, and personally feel they should be rewarded for that. I'd much rather see them get in than a 12-10 IU, Duke, UNC or whoever you want to list here from a Power 5 conference. MVC has had some decent success in the tourney the past few years, not that that has any impact for 2021, but just my take Edit: I desperately want IU to make the tourney, but not if we continue to play the way we have been and lose 3 or 4 out of our next 5. Playing your best ball as the tourney approaches used to be a factor, which as I say that might exclude Drake so perhaps talking out of both sides of my mouth here. But 20-2 and a team that's been in the top 25 for most of the season should get in.
  16. Totally agree. He was thrust into the starting lineup by doing the little things: hustle plays, rebounding, defense and also for how poor Rob was playing. Now he's not even doing those little things to make him effective. Being from Plymouth originally it's just disappointing to see. I had thought when he had his 0-0-0 line would be his season low point, but it's becoming the norm now.
  17. Quite shocking how much he's regressed in just a few months
  18. Dane Fife probably wouldn't say no, if he's wanting to be a head coach again. If it came down to him or Steve, I'd take Fife in a heartbeat. He's one of the few people out there that was around when being an Indiana Hoosier still meant something. I just want no part of Steve. If we needed to wait 4 or 5 years to truly judge Archie, I'd hate to think how long it'd take to reserve judgement on Alford as there's no way he'd land 3 straight Mr Basketballs from Indiana
  19. Can we keep the deficit under 30?
  20. Starting lineup not named TJD is currently 5-20 from the floor. And likely would be worse if Archie didn't figure out that Rob can't play and has finally gone to Lander for significant minutes in the second half
  21. OSU shooting 49% and 3 starters in double figures. Wonder what that feels like
  22. Like the fight to get back in it. Franklin has been off the last couple games. Need him if we hope to win this one. Rob is being Rob. Get Lander more time on the floor
  23. Al Durham. Not a point guard
  24. This, even with Rob waving and directing while dribbling the air out of the ball, we still wind up with two players standing next to each other for the swing pass. If we're not getting into our pick and roll, we are lost on offense. It's no wonder we have so many shot clock violations
  25. Less shown of IU today is probably for the better. Recruits might be watching
