I think you can tell when a team looks ill prepared in a loss (perhaps against a 2-3 zone ahem), which would be on the coach vs a game like IPFW where it looks like the players have their head completely up their rectum

Guys step back from the ledge.  The basketball world is not ending.  CAM is doing a lot more right than wrong.  This too shall pass.

Can’t say this is a surprise. The team seems to play to the level of their competition. Plus they just heat a ranked team 2 days prior, mental hangover. The level of intensity was severely lacking.
College basketball is a guards game and we have a inconsistent SG and a backup PG that are both starting.

Been saying this about Izzo for years. Branden Dawson is another example. There are others as well.

Izzo just pays less than Kansas, UK, Duke and some others. Next level pay rate.

From someone that has coached college basketball in Michigan it is well known in college circles up there that Izzo does and gets away with some shady stuff.

I think we are fine as we sit right now for next year, still plenty of time to add to the roster. There is playing time available and scholarships to go around. If I’m a quality guard I have to take a hard look at IU. I fully expect Archie to go out and get Romeo, a grad transfer, or quality JUCO transfer SG.

Archie gets paid more than Mike White. But we all want to hear more about how much you hate Glass.

Those examples of immediate success are 1) anecdotal, and 2) completely eliminate context:
Mike White had a fully stocked cupboard in year one. I believe he's a very good coach and he has performed very well, but replacing high-level kids who were coached by Billy Donavan is VERY different than what Archie inherited, no?  True, and Sampson (who, by all accounts is a pretty good in-game coach) did so by bringing in such luminaries as Ellis, Basset, DeAndre, etc, etc. And you cite as some badge of achievement that Sampson had us in the top ten in year two. Well, so did Crean last year! AND, just like Crean last year (though for different reasons) that Sampson team completely fell apart. And that was BEFORE the news came out that the best Sampson team was chock full of drug users and 'D' students.

We do not have the talent this year to make the tournament. Like many have stated. WE LOST 3 NBA PLAYERS LAST YEAR, and we still didn’t make the tournament. New coach, new offense, new defense and we can’t make a damn 3. You sir are setting yourself up for disappointment

Year 3 we are a tournament team and a Buc Trn title contender. Should be consistently in the upper half going forward. Getting Romeo speeds this up. We can still get into the dance next year, but likely a bubble team at best without Romeo.

I admit, I haven't seen a lot of their games, but both seem adequate at this early stage. I don't think they will be mistaken for point guards, but from what I have seen, they both have skills that can be grown.

The commit I was most impressed with today was Rob Phinisee. It was the first time I've seen him play in person, but I came away feeling he has the chance to come in and play from day 1. He was very smart with the ball in terms of finding the open guy and also got to the rim at will. Very impressed.

Jerome Hunter and Damezi Anderson both started somewhat slow with foul trouble, but they finished the game off nicely other than Jerome being ejected after his 2nd tech. Damezi hit some big time 3's, including one with a defender in his grill where I looked at Matt Painter after and he said "Wow!"

The first game I saw today was CG vs. HSE. TJD didn't take a single jumper from what I remember, so definitely needs to develop an outside game. Majak is pretty raw on both sides.

Overall, Romeo was above and beyond the best player of all the games. Expected this, but he lit it up on offense, and he also played great D on Brooks. We will be alright regardless, but I want Romeo at IU VERY badly.

Once I saw the reality of the situations Archie inherited, I decided not to get caught up in wins and losses. I’m more interested in overall team improvement. Even in these losses, I’ve seen progress. The offensive system is getting open shots, getting to the FT line, limiting turnovers. The Packline defense is a top notch defense but Archie said it will take a 3 years for it to be at its optimum level.

Not even close to accurate. Crean ball relied on hitting the 3. This team is a terrible 3 point shooting team.

Im not disappointed at all. I expected very little from the team that didn’t gain a real PG and lost NBA talent coming into this year. Serious progress has been made all season. This team was in it till the end in one of the tougher road environments. Today is dark, but the future is bright.
