Wow, McAfee just called out Saban after he picked LSU. “Have you ever picked Vandy?” Saban was literally stuck. Took probably 15 seconds to formulate an answer and admit that he can’t get his mind around the fact that they’re good. That was hysterical.

Obviously there’s a difference between best and greatest, but at this point is it even arguable that Ohtani’s not the best player ever? He’s Babe Ruth except 6’3” 230 and playing now.

CFB media has always talked Beck up as a Guy. At some point someone needs to explain that. If you’re talking about him in comparison to the best QB’s in the B1G when would his name even start coming up? Maybe 4 or 5?

Will be really interested to hear how Diane reacts to watching that game last night. Tough to picture a 7’0” 280lb bully of a big watching that and picturing themselves playing that way. Obviously they’d run stuff for a kid like him, but still. Karvala, on the other hand, you show a 6’7” athlete that stuff and it’s where do I sign?

Rewatching the game right now. I’ll be really curious to see if they play offensively against Baylor the way they did last night. As nearly as I can tell they didn’t run a single thing designed to get a specific guy a specific look. They just ran **** tons of continuity with freedom to break it and that’s it. That was the whole thing. If that’s the plan I’m in. It’s tough to scout and you can get most of those looks even against real teams. The biggest difference with normal continuity schemes was the shear pace. That was nuts. Oats doesn’t play that fast. If DDV’s goal is pushing 80 possessions Hurryin’ Hoosiers won’t cover it.

So to summarize: It is now past possible and has evolved into damned likely that on December 6th the undefeated #1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will be playing the undefeated #2 ranked Indiana Hoosiers at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship and the #1 seed in the College Football Playoffs. Uhhhhh…..I don’t even know what to say.

Per Lasley, he was supposed to hit campus this afternoon. I would imagine he would be glaringly obvious behind the bench tonight. Assume Karvala will be there as well. Apparently Karvala had a very nice game yesterday against one of the OTE teams.

Nice example of what can happen to young kids/early offers. Pretty sure when Woody offered he had had a really good couple of camps the summer before his soph year and was viewed as a very hot kid off of athleticism and projectability. Like, top 10 hot. Now the skill piece hasn't really come and he's viewed as a shot blocker/rim runner and Gonzaga's obviously a great landing spot, but his actual rating is nowhere close to what it was. Young bigs are tough.

And he does it so unapologetically. If UF or Arkansas signed Cig to that exact same deal he'd be raving about their aggression and the SEC's reach and ability to draw the best and banging away at IU for being too cheap or small-time to keep him.

I find it almost impossible to believe that number’s right. As talented as he is Thompson’s not in the Peterson/Dybantsa/Boozer tier of freshman who are ready to be the best kid on the floor every night. Think he’s closer to an Ament and I don’t know what UT coughed up for a 1 year kid that’s probably a 2-3 option but can’t imagine it was that. Just see this outcome where he’s really good and gives you something like 13/7 on good splits and gets better as the year goes on and has a couple of games late where he flashes dominance and then he’s gone. What’s that worth and is your program in the place where an overpay for that is beneficial? It could be but that doesn’t feel like the likeliest state. Really tough call.

Appreciate it. Can’t see how they could be. Thompson would be in a white jersey the day he hits campus and Karvala probably needs to add 15lbs before you could say with any certainty that he’d be a rotation piece. If he can then he is.
