Of the innumerable examples of kickers who don’t look like actual players the USC kicker is an outstanding one. He looks like a jockey.
-
I must not be looking at it the right way because I thought he was pretty obviously down.
-
No, Illinois is not “a totally different team than last week”, Gus. They are playing a totally different team than last week.
-
All 4 of the Fox guys picking USC comfortably. Think that would have been their call this time last Saturday?

You are more likely to get a couple of hundred mil from the Saudis than I am to come around on Bryson. Promise.

Yup, has been that way for me for a long time. Maybe from ‘08 or whenever it was that the American players whined about not being paid. Special mention to DeChambeau, who might be on the Rushmore of all-time punchable sports faces. Side note: what is Michael Jordan doing wearing a sweater with “JORDAN” in 6” letters across his chest? Are you kidding me? What, being a 6’6” black guy in a crowd of 20,000 middle aged white people not noticeable enough?

Would really love to see Taylor pop so we don’t have to worry about this one going to the wire and not happening. -

Never was really on mine, but he certainly got Adams a $hitload of frequent flyer miles. I assume he’s just trying to meet the criterion for entering the ‘26 draft which would explain establishing himself as a foreign Pro rather than classing up to play in college. Can’t blame him. Even in a crazy loaded draft his window is probably 3-6 range. If you can do that you do that, even if in ‘27 he might be in play at 1. -
Per Lasley, Jasai Miles and Nick Dorn are full practice participants. Great news.

(2026) - Latrell Allmond to OK State

I get the argument both ways. As long as a coach is consistently adherent to their plan for roster building I’m down any way they want to go. But for me I think if I’m comfortable with the kid’s work ethic and approach I’m gonna err on the side of talent every time. That means I’m gonna miss on a Walter Clayton sometimes, but if you give me a shot at a Walter Clayton or a Darryn Peterson every year I’m gonna take Peterson every time and I’m pretty confident you’d win more often than not in that deal. -

Won’t return to AZ Compass and is apparently exploring pro options, per Givony. A few accounts are suggesting he’s signing with Partizan, but I can’t find an announcement that sounds fully credible. -

Yup. The 3 of those kids and Moody would be a top 5ish class nationally and almost certainly #1 in the B1G. You can make the argument that in the current climate a 4-man freshman class would be too big, but from a purely talent perspective that would be the best IU class in a good long while. And, personally, I’ll take talent over experience. -
Kyle Schwarber - Philadelphia Phillies
Demo replied to LIHoosier's topic in IUHoosier Baseballers in the Pros
Schwarber with 2 more bombs tonight. Now at 56 for the year. His contract situation is going to be pretty interesting. He’s in his last year. He’ll be 33 before next season starts. He can barely play the field anymore. But he’s having this monstrous year and he’s a straight leader and winner. What’s he worth and to how many teams? Can’t imagine the Phillies don’t re-sign him, but what’s it gonna look like? Maybe 3/90, something like that? Gonna be fascinating to watch. -
Check this out. This is nuts. And it doesn’t include: Allman Brothers- At Fillmore East T-Rex-Electric Warrior Elton John- Madman Across the Water And I’m sure I’m forgetting others.Got to be the greatest year of music ever.

Felt pretty good about it when the Judge said he’d have a decision back today. You’d assume that if he was gonna end a kid’s career he’d probably at least want to sleep on it.

Not a chance. Will absolutely allege the grossest of motives, sight unseen. The needs of the laundry I root for far, far, outweigh any “adherence to legal precedent.”

Ditto. I never look at that stuff. Somebody really needs to explain to me exactly what’s fun about that.

Rothstein. Maybe he had it wrong.

Auburn’s Tahaad Pettiford enters the portal. Someone is gonna be writing a huge check.

2026 General Recruiting Thread (Bball)

Agree. Was already fan of Thompson and of Taylor’s talent, but watched Allmond’s state semi-final and final game from last year the other night and his team was really good and beat the mess out of both those teams, but he was very impressive. He’s got everything you want. Prototype modern 4. Already knew that, but what was eye-opening was that his school played at a crazy fast pace, pressed all game and ran off makes or misses, and that kid ran hard and really moved his feet well laterally pressuring. That kid will hit a campus next year ready to play. Hope it’s this one.
