If you want to see something wild look at SLU’s stats. They have 9 kids who play at least 15 mins and none who play more than 24. Avila leads them averaging 13 and their 9th leading scorer averages 7. That’s insane balance. Did Shertz do that at ISU?

No idea how that’s allocated. One interesting thing about Anderson: checked out of curiosity and he’s really young. He doesn’t turn 17 until the end of July. So he’ll play his entire freshman year of college as an 18yo. Would not have guessed that at all given how strong he is and physically he plays.

I’ve always felt a little bit bad for the kid because he’s pretty clearly never liked basketball in his life and he just plays for what it brings the family. 100% certain he would have been happier as the tallest saxophone player in the Cathedral Marching Band.

Yeah, Rippey just committed last week. They also signed Bryson Howard, who’s a very offensively talented 2/3. So from a need perspective he may not be a fit. But Duke’s Duke.

It’s pretty wild that Duke’s in here, almost to the point that I’m not sure I fully believe it. Duke just doesn’t recruit projects and where he is physically makes Manhertz kind of a project. His skill level doesn’t overcome his physical development like it did somewhat for Evans last year. S’pose we’ll see.

I seem to remember during 1 of the UW games 1 of the announcers kind of suggested that he was 1 of those kids who’d done a bunch of the commit/decommit dance.

That kid is so physically ahead of his class it’s almost unbelievable. From the neck down he’s a 25yo man. During the summer was trying to come up with kid that far ahead and the last 1 I could think of was Dwight Howard.

Such a coaching problem in college. They love to start their actions at 8 or so and unless you’ve got some kid like Acuff who can go get a look on anyone you end up with trash like that an alarming % of the time. Start your stuff at 12 and just run your action. Yeah, if you score at 4 or 5 they get to run down and throw up a 30 footer. I’ll take my freaking chances with that one.
