Which one of those bozos called the foul on Troy when the Wisconsin player dribbled the ball off his leg and out of bounds? The guy calling the game with Dakich actually announced it as a turnover and was taken aback when he realized a foul had been called. That play was a Kohl Center special. 
 
 
Edit: I'm gonna guess the guy on the left. The look on his face says "You're wearing a dark jersey? Foul, for not wearing white."

It must be said- our defense is a hell of a lot better than what it was pre-conference play. You have to admit, if we were playing defense like we were early on in the season, we would have been blown out! CTC has made some changes and they are working. We still have a long way to go till tourney time and we need to improve a great deal more. Our offense sucked purdue person last night. There were players who looked like they lost confidence and there were a lot of bad shots. One guy in particular needs to ride the pine until he develops better decision-making. The dribble-drive just doesn't make any sense when you have no control. Passes were sloppy and usually uncontrolled resulting in SO MANY friggin turn-overs. I pull my hair out everytime someone other than ROJO or Yogi dribble the ball down the court and start the play. It never amounts to anything except turnovers.

I could give my opinion on what happened last night, but it would sound like a broken record compared to others.
 
Bottom line is, if these guys can't take a punch in the mouth and not fold except for one or two, it's going to be a long rest of the season.
 
Wisconsin is a team that has IU figured out and we always seem to cave to their level.  Until we make necessary game adjustments, this will continue to occur.  Their defense really had us reeling last night.  If not for Yogi, this is a double digit loss.  Unacceptable.  No screens set, no focus, scared shooting (NZ), POOR post defense, no answers.
 
This game has become a laugher every year because everyone knows the outcome.

Brilliant game from a Wisconsin point of view.  Calls on our side, nobody is stopping us on the blocks, defensive adjustments aren't being made by IU, guaranteed chance at two points everytime down.  They didn't waver from that plan.

I wondered the same. Whoever was guarding Zak Show could've doubled down on Happ or Hayes. Zak is a 36% 3pt shooter

Great post Doc. I will admit, I was a little rough on Yogi for the first part of the season because I felt he was way too selfish. However, he has been incredible to watch, and he is the reason we are ranked. Love watching him play. And he is one of the IU greats! He will lead us deep into the tournament IMO.

There's no excuses. Indiana lost a tough game and played the same exact game at home. Turnovers killed them again and for some reason whenever they play wisconsin, they tend to play their game. It does get frustrating when the refs treat Nigel Hayes as some superstar who gets all the calls. It's 1 loss in the b1g. The sky isn't falling and let's see if this Indiana team can bounce back and go on another run.

Sorry if it offends anyone I just think it is a cop out to blame the refs. IU had plenty of opportunities to win the game in the second half and couldn't hang on to the ball or play any sort of defense on Happ. Questionable substitutions late in the game and in OT. IU had their opportunities and didn't capitalize.

It has been said that TW is set to graduate this spring.  To me, this is amazing to hear.
If anything, TW has and education to fall back on.  Anymore, the 3 year degree has to be the norm players aspiring to make the next step in basketball.

They referred to TW as "Mr. Ed".  They must dislike TW in Badger land.

This philosophy is going to turn into a even more useful recruiting tool once the 1 and done rule is changed. I believe that this will change in the next 5 years.

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread but I liked Marni's tweets today about Crean's emphasis on academics.  She tweeted that Crean has a 100% graduation rate for players who complete their eligibility at IU. I know some will gripe about all the transfers but that's still a pretty awesome stat for the players who stay.  She also discussed how Crean requires her to give him an academic update on each of the players every day.  Now that is staying on top of things!
 
We've had a lot of gripes and complaints with Crean over the years---but academic performance is not one of them. The boys have averaged a 3.1 GPA during the Crean era.  (We won't talk about the Sampson era)
 
Well done in the academics area Marni, Coach Crean, Staff, and to our student-athletes!

So....do we as IU have the expectation to cheer on in-state kids who don't select IU and play for, i don't know, say North Carolina, Duke, UK, etc.?

I just watched the game and I'm on the verge of tears. COACH Crean has made defensive changes, offensive changes and I MUST, WE MUST give him kudos. The guy has made great adjustments to the defense and we are executing. Hats off to coach Crean! Keep proving me wrong! Please?
