You can’t have a good faith argument with someone unwilling to cede any truths. It’s a hallmark of Team Shill. People can be happy we won while also critical of how it happened (e.g. building a 16 point lead and pissing it away). I’ll be the first to admit I cannot give Woody credit he may or may not deserve because I am 100% jaded on his tenure. My standard of what he would have to do to win back not true fans like myself (and I’d bet others) is so high it’s virtually impossible. I’m talking top-3 B1G finish, good showing BTT, and EE at a minimum before I’d go on record as Woody deserves another season (which, LOL). I also don’t want IU to lose any game they play, it’s my Alma Mater I love dearly. There is nuance with this, which is purposefully being ignored when arguing with Team Shill. Both things can be true. Or, put another way, you can have your cake and eat it too, IMHO.

I like to imagine Dolson tells Woody he needs to see him in his office after the season and Woody responds with “You wanna fire Mike Woodson, you come to Mike Woodson’s office.”

I know the SEC killed it since Esecpn wouldn’t stop bringing it up but thought the B1G was pretty pedestrian by comparison. Lunardi has 11 B1G teams in right now and if that holds I think we are in good shape, but there’s zero room for error IMO. We have to take care of business at home. I think Lunardis forecast is probably too bullish, yet who knows lol.

Nobody gets to 8+ Q1 wins without non-conference by seasons end with 9 conference losses. That was my point. Last year a grand total of 11 teams had 8 or more q1 wins by March Madness. Only 1 (Baylor) had 10 losses who also finished lowest of the 11 in the NET at 15 by virtue of their Big12 season. Playing January hypotheticals is pointless. I still think we get to 10/11 wins but it’s highly unlikely 80% of them are Q1 by selection time.

Hence why I said today. On no planet should IU win by 6 when any opponent shoots 14% from three and sub 60% from the line. That was more my point, not that if they played 10 times IU wins by 25 more than once or twice. The once was today. The Nitts played terrible.

Another game where it’s less about what we did to win, and more about what the opponent did to lose. I am so sick of watching Woody ball. PSU shoots even within 10% of their season averages from three and the free throw line and we lose by double digits. We should have shellacked that team by 25 today. Whatever. Fire Mike Woodson.

Good win, now let’s do the thing that makes sense and not start both Malik and Ballo or sub one as soon as we can after tip. They’d be such a killer 1-2 punch with one coming off the bench. It would probably help Malik stay on the floor and pick up less fouls.
