  1. Ballo better get cheered everytime he touches the ball. Only person showing any effort.
  2. Three players barely jogging back. Nice.
  3. 60 points in a half of college basketball by a road team is nasty work.
  4. I completely forgot we played tonight with it being on peacock. Glad I did. Yikes.
  5. You’re going to have to add the dreaded +discussion of former posters tag again soon lol
  6. So nearly a full 25% of losses in the Woodson era are massive blowouts. That’s eye-popping. One out of every four losses we get fired into the sun by someone lol. That feels like mid-major stuff. .260 in Q1a (thanks @Uspshoosier)is almost as bad as James Franklin against top-10 football teams.
  7. This is the entire schtick. They just run from one end to other chasing the goal posts. That one dude here jumped on me almost immediately for daring to suggest Penn State playing like dog crap had more to do with us winning than anything we did to make them uncomfortable. If we win it’s because IU executed a masterful game plan making the opposing team play awful and their coaches unable to counter the amazing adjustments, and if we lose it’s because of injuries or the other team playing out of their minds. All of Team Shill™️ is exactly the same.
  8. 14-30 Quad 1 31-40 Quad 1&2 Combined which gives us a winning % of .442 in games against decent competition. Which is 2 hundredths of a point off Woody’s NBA head coaching record of .419– say what you want about Woody at least he’s consistent. You were constantly toying with us Tom. Either be consistently good or consistently bad, pick one! Jokes aside, it’s actually pretty wild how close his coaching record in CBB matches his NBA record if you throw out the cupcakes lol
  9. Getting credit for the win at Palestra being on the road was the friendliest gift ever given by the overlords at NET Rankings Incorporated
  10. Yea he’s not getting canned mid season. We are gonna ride this out, finish about .500 in the B1G and put this sorry chapter to bed. The we are going to shock the world and hire Brad Stevens. (Is that better guys?) I apologize for my lack of positive affirmations this morning lol
  11. Lmao, don’t you put that on me!! Although I am fully a Dusty fanboy at this point, I 100% say make Brad say no, then move along and never shake that tree again.
  12. I mentioned it already, assuming you were referring to this sure to be disaster of hire lol. I agree that from a structural perspective if what has been reported there is true it lends itself to a coach being more CEO now. Unfortunately I think it is more apt to football where you aren’t building a super close relationship with 100 players versus basketball. Basketball by its very make up now is going to require more hands on approaches from the head coach. There are definitely facets of the BB plan that could be used in basketball but I think the fundamental differences in the two sports would prevent how much you could limit the HCs exposure to NIL and transfer stupidity. As far as the Belichek hiring goes compared to Brad I don’t really think it correlates. Bill Belichek is not coaching UNC because he has some great desire to be there, he’s coaching UNC because no one will hire him in the NFL. He interviewed all over the league and got no jobs. Obviously there’s a level of love of the game given he’s a septuagenarian and outlandishly wealthy, but let’s not pretend he’s coaching college instead of coaching in the NFL. Brad would be the opposite.
  13. We need to fire the current guy first lol, although arguing over hypothetical coaches for our hypothetical job opening has passed my entire morning at work. Pretty successful Tuesday so far if I’m honest.
  14. Larry is the only guy and his return to college was at 72 after 30+ years in the NBA. I don’t doubt at all that Brad has mused to his circle some interest in returning to college coaching, and seriously considered us before we bumbled into woody- I just think that ship has sailed.
  15. If he was 70 and no one wanted him in the league I’d actually think our chances were better a la Bill Belichek lol
  16. Moving upward off two final four runs? No, I don’t see that as comparable as going from winning an NBA Championship as general manager of the Celtics backwards to be college coach in what has become a ridiculous situation with NIL and transfers. For the most part, dudes that can, are running from college coaching, not going back to it. Again, to reiterate for the third time, I hope I’m wrong, but Brad Stevens is not coaching in college again for any dollar amount, IMO
  17. As I said, I hope I’m wrong, but there’s zero precedent of someone going from NBA HC to NBA GM (of the Boston Celtics no less) and then back to CBB. It’s such an absurd career arch I just don’t see it. Nobody is going from GM of a championship winning/caliber NBA team to recruiting 17 year olds and trying to convince your existing players to not transfer for an extra 100k voluntarily lol. Who knows though, maybe he misses it?
  18. The analogy wasn’t without some thought…..
  19. I don’t think he coaches again. Boston being sold means nothing. He’d be the hottest GM on the market and close to the hottest NBA coach on the market if that was reality. I’d like to think IU still has that kind of pull, but there’s nothing about our program to convince me of that. It would be like Harbaugh going to Michigan. The only people on planet earth that thought he’d go back to college were Michigan fans. And that’s a guy whose dad coached there, played there, and grew up in Ann Arbor. Hope I’m wrong I guess, but I just can’t get on the Stevens train. It’s Dusty May first and then work the list.
  20. Yea you can pay to have your tail number hidden on flightaware and flightradar or just fly VFR until out of airspace and pick of IFR later. It is still fun watch for KBOS or KBED as a destination from Btown though lol
  21. Also gives a chance to pull an Ohio. This season does not need salvaging, it needs surviving. While I agree on the fundamental picture it paints about getting serious about BBall again, I just do not think the upside outweighs the downside. If Calbert took over and won a decent clip and changed how we look and got us into to the tournament there would be a large contingent of people that would want him to get the full time job-- Let me preface with I would take a chance on Cal over Woody for the record, but what IU needs is for Dolson to be able to conduct a full coaching search without a bunch of noise about the interim guy. Cal winning a few games and getting the HC job because of it would be classic IU behavior, and I do not wanna risk it.
  22. Yea, I have come around to believing there is essentially no way this isn't his last season (all hail @Stuhoo for the steadfast leadership on that front lol), but anyone thinking he resigns is living in fantasyland. Mike Woodson is not resigning, and almost certainly is not getting fired midseason (and personally I see no real advantage to midseason). He will be gone after we lose in the BTT. Still would not be surprised if it is an ugly divorce, but hopefully he retires and we all move on.
  23. We’ve gone back and forth plenty, but this couldn’t be more well written stoob. What you have described can be boiled into one major point: culture. We have a culture problem, and it stems from a lack of leadership and vision. It’s been repeated ad nauseam in game threads but we have no identity at either end. For my part, I appreciate you showing up with a balanced take acknowledging the nuance. We can all agree that Iowa was unacceptable and happens far too frequently under Woody.
