  1. Dude I’m not litigating this again, I have said repeatedly, if MW had a good high school class coming in last year, I could have understood him getting a 4th year. He didn’t, so he deserved to be fired given the body of work. Twisting every argument and responding with “So…..” and moving the goalposts into an if/then black/white in every response is tiresome and ignores all the nuance.
  2. I don’t care how it’s done as long as we win. I have a preference for balanced recruiting because the data shows bringing in 7+ transfers doesn’t equate to March success. All I was pointing out was your sudden pearl clutching over transfers was not an outlier. To the bolded: I will never be satisfied by .500 basketball at Indiana, but my standard isn’t fumbling into the tournament and getting blown out either. So you are correct, two years of .500 basketball I would not “live” with.
  3. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but it feels like we spent about 350 pages last offseason litigating Team Mercenary™️ and how it was not a recipe for long term success. We have 500 pages of you not being an outlier lol, most of us hated having a one, then zero, then one freshman class. Hell, the FMW thread was like 500 pages in before Liam even deecommitted.
  4. While I will probably stay in the skeptic column when it comes to Brad actually coming here, what does that timeline look like? The Celts are likely not going to be done playing basketball until June. Would he leave before the season was over? I would lean towards we should wait as long as he wants if he commits but do we really want to be without a coach for two+ months?
  5. Wasn’t it posited last year that Doyle may have been getting his leaked info right from the source? Or am I thinking of someone else? Cant read the article since it’s paywalled but I can guess the gist from his tweet.
  6. And 8 of them were before we played a minute of basketball this season. ITH and some national media coming around to what the viscerally emotional, knee jerk reactive, true fans have been saying for over a year is high comedy. Anyone with eyeballs looking at our program objectively who watches even a small amount of CBB beyond IU games shouldn't need to do “research” to know it’s been an abnormal amount of blowouts lmao
  7. Cant imagine it would help lol, but I’m guessing he’s level headed enough to know college kids are gonna chant stupid stuff. Now if he was known to be close to Woody I would worry about it, otherwise it’s just tacky. The powers that be cannot be oblivious to this fact either. They made this bed last year, and now are reaping the results. They know Michigan will be particularly ugly if we lay a patented MW egg.
  8. Yea I agree with you, unfortunately if it starts looking like we are going to get 20 pieced by UM, I would say it’s almost a forgone conclusion the students chant for Dusty.
  9. Crean was a victim of the “high expectations,” Woody and Co. haven’t done enough to use that excuse. Making that excuse would imply you’re doing well enough that people should be less rabid. Crean getting canned a year after winning the B1G outright is an example of our program and fans believing Sweet Sixteens isn’t good enough. Trying to slough off the fans while getting dog walked is pathetic.
  10. Brinks truck? Keys to the city of Indianapolis? Lifetime supply of Mother Bear’s?
  11. Today is getting weird in here because I definitely agree with you here lol. I’ll probably get skewered for this take but….. While I do think it would be a slam dunk hire and would be thrilled, I do think there are some questions with BS. He hasn’t coached college in a decade and hasn’t coached at all in a minute. BS isn’t the grand slam home run he would have been after Crean anymore, more like a two run bomb with the potential to be a grand slam. Forgive me for my extended analogy lol
  12. Wait you’re a Jersey? I thought we were talking to Tony Soprano. What is going on today??
  13. I appreciate the response, and I will take you at your word. However, I hope you can appreciate the optics of someone claiming to be within the AD or having sources thereof, then asking people about their alumni status and when they became fans after being disagreed with is pretty suspect and reads as elitism. Maybe you were just curious; maybe not I don’t know, but I know the perception behind questions like that.
  14. I’m not inferring anything. You said, and I quote, “Did you attend IU” to a person on an internet forum. Which I fundamentally disagree with as standard of practice. How someone came to their fandom is of no bearing on how they express their opinions. It is no great jump to see what your line of questioning to several people was an attempt at. Now, tell me you were honestly just “curious” and not trying to condescend your superior IU credentials. For the record, I generally enjoy your inputs. This rubbed me the wrong way, and I say that as a person with two degrees from IU who did not grow up an IU fan, but came to love the university when we moved to Indiana as a child.
  15. Are we qualifying fandom or the right to have an opinion based on degrees now? The innate condescension of a question like that is why people have visceral reactions to many of your posts. It’s not just the content or lack thereof, it is the language that creates a perceived chasm between the anonymous plebes online and the “educated” administration.
  16. I don’t trust our admin not to do something stupid and hire an interim full time that wins some games. Announce he is retiring, start the search for the next guy and flush this entire staff five seconds after the season is over. That’s what needs to happen and what I believe will happen despite what I want/think a serious program would do. I’ve stated before, we make unserious moves over and over and over, so until the leopard changes its spots so to speak I will continue to believe that. Since viscera has been a topic of conversation today— I stopped having visceral reactions to Indiana Basketball losses about a dozen or so blowouts ago.
  17. Weren’t you making the argument that our play would be worse if Mike Woodson were relieved mid season a half dozen pages ago? Because you can’t have it both ways, either mid season is a bad idea for performance purposes or it’s not and an OSU Bball is a risk you run. It is not a “temporary fix” as stated, it is trying to salvage whatever dignity is left in this program. Also, just for the record, Ed Orgeron was never hired at USC. He was named interim to finish 2013 after Kiffin got tarmac’d and did not get the full time job after the season and resigned from the staff as a result.
  18. Probably got answered, but allegedly choked his significant other. There’s also a pile of internet rumors about his drinking habits in Lubbock and Austin. While I don’t subscribe to assigning guilt arbitrarily, in my experience (work closely with state and federal police), this type of stuff does not happen in a vacuum. If DV has progressed to police interaction, it most likely has gone much further. He is HARD NO from me. Now, non-violent financial/recruiting/paying players types of violations? My morality stops lol and could not care less.
  19. Really feels that way. I’d still like to think Woody couldn’t be so oblivious to reality that he doesn’t know that toxic doesn’t begin to describe how this will go, but he’s definitely said things that make it seem like he’s delusional before so who knows. Then again I watched us lose to Auburn by 28 in person last year and that wasn’t even the worst loss that season and we didn’t make a move lol
  20. St. John’s 5-1 in the Big East for the first time in 26 years. We would have 8 banners minimum had we just hired Pitino when we had the chance.
  21. On a scale of 1-Anthony Leal, how chill are we in here right now? I haven’t had a chance to get caught up.
  22. I actually like Rice and Ballo showing some life. That kid should be tossed for staring down Goode.
  23. Coming in hot with good news. Thanks Jers. Lmao
  24. I don’t have the willpower to look it up, but the last time IU lost by 25+ twice in a row has to be Creans first year right?
