Defense is just going to be a problem no matter how well the offense clicks, but the biggest positive is since the benching and Malik’s injury, Ballo looks like the first team all conference guy we expected. He’s an absolute monster playing center in an open lane.

I’ll be the first to admit I’ve been critical of Malik, but I’m more and more convinced him coming off the bench behind Ballo and this team can reach a much higher level. Obviously there’s issues elsewhere, but that 1-2 punch seems like even more of a no brainer after watching how well Ballo plays as the solo 5.

I don’t think the starting lineup matters as much as one of MR or OB are coming off the bench. We’d be so tough starting a first team all PAC center and bringing our leading scorer off the bench. Or vice versa, doesn’t really matter, but we are so much better without two bigs on the floor. MM can drive on 4s, and get more open looks like tonight. Rice has so much more space to operate. Carlyle seems like a miss right now, but I think it’s also a side effect of being a shooting guard who can’t shoot. Defense is great though.

This feels like “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed.” I’ll get back to the topic, Fire Mike Woodson.

But it’s also okay to be critical of a 6 point win given the metrics of how it happened. As you stated earlier, a good team turns that shooting performance into a 20+ point win. Thats the main crux of the last like ten pages of back and forth in the Fire Mike Woodson thread. I made my comments pro-win in the game thread and came here to vent my displeasure with how it happened. People hanging out in a thread designated for complaining about CMW, being trolled for hanging out in a thread designated for complaining about CMW. It happens every time we have an unexpected win, it’s all good it’s just silly.
