I was about to post something for everyone to speculate, because that’s a really odd flight for BTown. That’s a chartered A220 owned by Breeze Airways. There’s also a flight that went to Indy Executive from Windsor Locks as well. Does any IU sports team play on the east coast today or tomorrow? Because that’s the only reason I can imagine a Moxy charter there unless you were flying a large contingent of people (25+). That Breeze jet would not just find itself in Monroe county. Had to be a reason. Not saying it’s Brad Stevens lol but that’s my take.

Totally agree, I should have qualified it. I’m meant more in the way of not throwing a fit and making it ugly as possible. We are quickly barreling towards even burners cannot be taken seriously. But folks like Buckner and Ferguson do have the juice to control media narrative around the firing, but I certainly don’t think they can block him getting fired. He gone.

I’m not trying to go too tinfoil hat here (okay maybe I am, oh well), but I almost am starting to think Dolson is leveraging not firing him now to completely neuter QB, Ferguson et. al. Let this season die it’s slow death AH toxicity and all, and have the freedom he needs to conduct the search for Brad Stevens (or someone else I guess lol).

The type of issue matters here whether they want to acknowledge it or not. If he had been charged with and subsequently acquitted of DUI, or honestly, even convicted, I probably wouldn’t care. Im not rehashing my stance, yes the guy can flat out coach, and there’s a reason he’s at a notoriously scummy win at all costs school within a conference that in general has a win at all costs mentality. IU shouldn’t be a win at all costs school, no matter how much I dislike Mike Woodson and bad basketball.

That’s fair, but I would argue had he turned it around, made the tournament in year 3 instead having almost an identical season, the pitchforks would have been put away. I’d also argue there is basically zero scenario where IU should lose 12/13 games in basketball. Ever. Archie is responsible for making that bed, not the fanbase.

I don’t think that’s being entirely fair to the Archie hire. That was pretty universally thought to be a home run. His Alma mater was also open or going to open (I don’t remember exactly) but they were big mad we got him. It didn’t work, it happens, but acting like that was taking a flyer on some D2 coach at his first low major job is revisionist history.

That’s simply not true, repeating the same 2-3 year claim doesn’t make it so. Many of us, myself included had said all of last season if Woody had any momentum, had landed Fland, kept Liam and maybe Queen he would have deserved a fourth season. He didn’t, lost his only recruit, and seemed completely disinterested in doing what is required to win games in college. It wasn’t simply results. And although the writing was on the wall almost immediately, we were also lead to believe Woody was supposed to be a shorter term bridge to the permanent guy. No one was calling for his head after 2 seasons despite that. That said, after the last eight years I agree McCollum runs a system we probably wouldn’t like, but the guy wins a ton of basketball games. I didn’t like ArchieBall but believed (incorrectly) if he won big like Bennet, who cares if it’s like watching paint dry. And for the record I looked it up, there’s only about 60 coaches in all of division 1 that have been at their schools for ten years or longer. 240ish other schools have turned over coaches since 2015. We are not some weird anomaly for firing coaches that don’t win basketball games.
